A much brighter day today but certainly colder than it has been. I met up with a friend for a quick coffee before I did a small F&V shop in aldi, the only bargain I found was 30% off brussel sprouts but that’ll do me.
Leftover pizza for lunch and dinner tonight is a small mushroom quiche from the freezer with roasted beetroot and brussel sprouts.

Still cold and grey here, biting wind when I nipped out from the office at lunchtime to get something for lunch (wasn’t organised enough to take any today).
So lunch was a supermarket pasta salad and tea was breaded fish, sweet potato wedges and veg (it’s been a long day).Nearly the weekend 🙃

I've spoken to Wiltshire Farm Foods Farway and have a brochure, I heard good reports about them and they deliver weekly however EF is extremely fussy?
As I can't visit again until Sunday I popped into the hospital this afternoon, I had to burst her excitement as she was convinced she was going home today 😕 today she also thought she had been in hospital a year, so a tough visit.
I was up during the night with what I think is acid reflux and not just heartburn which I thought it was early in the week. I ate late last night and it was spicy so that probably caused the issue. I see how it goes before speaking to GP I'm hoping it's not as there are several things to avoid according to NHS which I would really miss, but a friend who has it was offering her opinion today 🙁 I did speak to the pharmacist and got some over the counter stuff.
I made a small amount of vegetable soup for lunch, typical for a throw things in the pot soup it's very nice and I've no idea what I put in 😁 just the one portion left.
Nasi Goreng for dinner, not quite the same as it wasn't spicy!Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin3 -
Sun back again, feels quite mild as well
Shame about EF and extra stay in hospital Brambling, , but probably for the best, especially with carers and offices being shut at weekends should problems arise
Wiltshire Farm Foods, I tried them when I was laid flat, usually have trial offers so I took one up. TBH they are OK but way over priced for a what they are, and I decided I'd be better getting frozen from any supermarket, but of course non can compare with home made, but it has to be practical.
Another one I tried was Parsley Box, same idea but freezer not needed, keeps in normal cupboards but same sort of microwave meals
Perhaps check out Ocado for Marks stuff, or Waitrose. They deliver, price varies, and Waitrose of course have lovely helpful drivers, take into kitchen if wanted
Silly question maybe, but does EF have a suitable microwave? Perhaps never needed one before, we had to buy one for Mum
Lunch, crisp sarnie, just fancy one of those
Dinner, trying Morries on offer, fish cakes with cheese middles, with AF chips & frozen peas

Good morning everyone,
Grey, damp and very chilly with sleet forecast early afternoon. Thankfully it's due to clear up a bit before I'm due to head out late afternoon for a "girls" evening at a friends house. She's promised stovies and steeped peas. 🤤I'm taking a huge bag of clothes to pass on which will clear a good space in my bedroom once it's gone.
HM soup from the freezer for lunch.

Bitterly cold wind still and we had a sleety shower early this morning. Thankfully I don't need to go out as I’m eating out of the freezer for a few days before I do an online shop next week.
I'm also having soup from freezer stock.
Dinner is scampi and chips, coleslaw and roast beetroot salad.

Bit of snow here this morning but soon changed to cold rain. Only left the house at lunchtime as had an appointment.
Another load of washing done and mostly dried in front of the radiator, gas bill will be huge this month!
Smoked mackerel pate with toast, cucumber and cherry tomatoes for lunch. Chickpea, chorizo and spinach stew tonight. Don’t seem to be making much of a dent on freezer stocks…

Farway EF used to buy the expensive RMs M&S, Waitrose & Charlie Bs and before Christmas decided they were all too salty and went off them. We are hoping Wiltshire F meals are less so or she's going to be in trouble as she can no longer cook. She's extremely fussy and always a nightmare to cook for or go out with, she's hating hospital food and I'm told as it's a small cottage hospital it's not too bad.
Volunteering as usual today, a nice day turned very wet from about 4pm I paddled across the Sainsbury's carpark when I finished about 4.45pm. There was an accident on the road my close turns into so I had to go the scenic route home. No ambulance just a police car so hopefully no one hurt.
Rice salad with tandoori chicken for lunch. Last portion of veg soup for dinner with some LO rice salad I had some left after boxing up tomorrow's volunteering lunch.

Good morning everyone,
Hope you can get some suitable meals identified for EF Brambling though really they should be looking at that as part of her care/discharge plan, Is there a food delivery/meals on wheels type service in your area that could provide a daily main meal? It's arranged through the Local Authority here and there are also a couple of private services too.
I had a fab night with the girls though I'm a tad fragile this morning. My friend's OH was bartending and suffice to say he has a generous hand! Apart from a full laundry basket there nothing too pressing needing doing so I'm for a fairly slothful day though want to start the beginnings of a beef & veg stew for tomorrow and to go to DS1 and DIL in coming weeks. DS2 is off to a gender reveal party this afternoon so I intend to make the most of the peace and quiet.
Lunch is tbc, probably soup or scrambled eggs. It's burgers tonight made from the remaining pork meatballs with salad and AF chips.

Rain stopped for a breather, now it's brighter grey and soggy
Sounds like EF will have a struggle with food Brambling, has she tried Cook? A bit more expensive and I think a branch in Chichester, East Street, before the Market. COOK deliver and I guess she could ask them? I know when I spoke to them in Petersfield shop they seemed accommodating, but it was pre Covid, so who knows? I've seen cook stuff in some Farm Shops as well
Lunch, scrambled eggs on toast
Dinner, TBD, maybe LO fish cakes
