It's been a while since I had a smokie too and it was delicious. There was a good helping for the omelette and enough leftover to freeze and use for fishcakes or a pie some other time.
Wednesday I do fruit with my porridge too either tinned or stewed, which reminds me I have a stash of prunes in the cupboard which just need soaking.
I did a quick shop this morning for some veg and chilled foods. We indulge a bit too much whilst away, so I’m cutting back a bit on the carbs - lunch today was salad with cottage cheese, pickles and celery.
I want to start creating a bit of space in the freezer so I’ll be using up some of the ready made stuff I have in there - tonight it's sausage and bean casserole with some steamed broccoli.

Cheap oats for me to Farway 😁 I got in the habit of soaking oats when I used to take my breakfast to work and it was easier to grab and go.
Leaving the Sainsburys car park after volunteering tonight I went out of my way to drive after a old lady walking across the car park to shout out my passenger window that her dress was tucked in her underwear 🫣 she blew me a kiss in thanks and then hit the old man walking with her, I'm assuming because they had walked a distance and he obviously hadn't notice 😁 my good deed of the day!

Well done Brambling

Joy of joys, another milestone birthday here, I’ve now reached the official state pension age and think it’s maybe time to stop counting.
I won't be sticking to the diet today, yesterday whilst at tesco I did treat myself to a box of walnut whips

Just about to have a brunch of bacon, black pudding, fried egg and grilled tomatoes.
Tonight I’m back to using freezer stuff - pork chop in a creamy mushroom sauce with cabbage, spring onions & peas on the side.

The sun is out, with a bit of a breeze, all change again tomorrow, so they sayI need to amend my Asda shopping, remove the eggs, because I still have plenty left this time round, may add some cereal, not as much left as I thoughtBrambling said:

Good morning everyone,
Happy birthday N2BT, enjoy the walnut whips. I've not had one in years and used like the M&S version best.
So far so good with installing Windows 11. I need to do a bit of reorganising and ditch the promo guff but otherwise it just did it's thing in background.
Lurgy lurks but it's a minor one thankfully. Domestics on the cards this weekend with DS2 pitching in to tackle some of the bigger jobs I can't really manage that well.
After N2BT mentioning smoked fish I defrosted some and made a very nice gratin with cauliflower and leek and kept the calories down by blending some of the cooked veg to make the sauce. I'm 11lbs down since the end of August which I'm really chuffed with.
There's a portion for freezer and and a small amount LO for lunch. Tonight it's the Pinch of Nom's Mushy Pea curry. Mushy Pea Curry - Pinch Of Nom 2 -
Happy Birthday N2BT!
I had an early dinner last night and then felt hungry so I ordered a Thai takeaway from a place I've never tried before. Quite nice and I have lots of leftovers. I'm not at all hungry at the moment so I will have breafast when I get back from the shops.2025 GOALS

Quiet day here, never quite seemed to get going after sleeping late. Done some laundry and a grocery shop.
Spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Slow roasted tomato and feta salad with rustic croutons tonight. Plus strictly 💃🏽 and wine 😉1 -
Happy birthday N2BT I hope you had a good day 🎂
well done Caronc 👏👏 I think I found a good few of those pounds whilst eat too much when recovering from my op
i woke up with a itchy eyelid looks like a bite, I'm assuming mosquito as his lordship now sleeps down stairs and is visitor free. It's now swollen and half closed, I took a antihistamine earlier and may take another before bed.
I went to the garden centre with my sister this afternoon to look for a birthday present for another sister we treated ourselves to a cuppa and shared a piece of flapjack which had a blackcurrant centre after a successful hunt. I just need to find something for my sister whose birthday is in early Nov she was hopeless when I asked her over cake 🙄 and I had given my ideas away!I made Pinch of Noms scotch eggs lunchtime they use tuna and mash potato instead of sausage, I used a tin of salmon. I wasn't impressed, I couldn't get it to stick to the egg and it fell apart when cooked, not that impressed with taste either. TBH fish cakes with a poached egg would have been easier! I had one with salad for lunch and to get rid of the second one I had a repeat of it for dinner. I wouldn't make again.
Ocardo arrived all present, I tried their cheaper four hour slot 6pm - 10pm and annoyingly they texted at midnight to tell me the hour it was coming although I did forgive them at was here by 6.30pmLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin2 -
I've lost two stone since February and I can't even say I have really noticed it, I did feel like one of my dresses felt a lot bigger when I wore it the other day, but that is about it!caronc said:I'm 11lbs down since the end of August which I'm really chuffed with.
My cholesterol has gone from over 7 in Feb to 5.7 in July and I just had another blood test last week so I'm hoping it will reflect it more in the test result.
I'm having a vegan cheese and Marmite sandwich. It looks like another mild and sunny day here in Essex.2025 GOALS
