A grey but dry day so for the first time in a year I parked at my sisters house and walked into town  I had a hair and a dentist appointment and was able to walk around town before walking back with some  shopping 🙂 I was happy to be walking again especially as parking is so expensive in town as I needed  over the three hours. After my dentist bill every penny counts 😁 we wouldn't mention the hair cut 💇‍♀️

I hindsight I wished I haven't booked a 2pm dentist appointment asi didn't want to eat lunch in town and then not brush my teeth.  I had a late breakfast and brought a Swedish cinnamon bun for once I got home and was less numb.

lunch was the bun.   Mushroom omelette for dinner

I saw a recipe for a strawberry matcha yesterday so I'm going to make one as I bought matcha powder a while ago and still haven't opened the packet! I will probably have some fruit or a smoothie too.

I'm going to have sourdough toast with baked beans and salad for lunch.

I have a ready meal mac and cheese with greens that I will have for a late lunch or early dinner as I have a class tonight. I'm going to get my flu jab today too.

Grey, but sun peeks out now & then.

These dark mornings, it's harder to get up. I've no real time need, like work or a pet, so I could stay in bed as long as I wanted, but I don't want to start that slippery slope.

Message from Asda, Christmas delivery slots open, so I’m in, and because I've an annual pass, no extra cost involved
As usual order has to be placed to get a slot, so I've bunged a "normal" list together and will amend as required, don't want a repeat of double turkey again

Made a fresh BM loaf, in time for lunch

Lunch, cold roast pork + salad bits sandwich
Dinner, more cold R pork, maybe with salad

I may be MIA tomorrow, meetings & round friends

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Another grey and chilly one.
My sis popped round mid-morning and we had a cuppa and natter so I need to crack on and get a few chores done before lunch.
Yesterday I made a pot of "Heinz-style" Cream of tomato soup that uses a tin of baked beans. Lunch will either be some of that or  LO butter bean and tomato stew. Although I halved the recipe for four it made 3 decent portions so there's a spare one. Tonight it's spag bol using the last tub of ragu from the batch I made a few weeks ago.

I've made that soup before, I saw that recipe on here, quite nice. :)

I'm going to make a batch of leek and potato soup tomorrow as I had a craving. I just went to get my flu jab and it didn't hurt at all, not like the blood test yesterday! She said to take paracetamol spaced out in the next 24 hours and hopefully I shouldn't get any reaction to the jab.

Sunny & breezy, we seem to have got off very lightly compared to others.

Had my jabs yesterday and so far not even sore arms

Hello Fruball, must be Bovril season, I had a mugful yesterday after buying a jar for the first time in years. T'was lovely.
Ok, sold  :D , I've added a jar of Bovril to my Asda list. Gasped at the price, but everything is silly now, isn't it?
I see Morries to a cheaper fake one, I may try that if I'm in there before my Asda delivery

    Lunch, liver pate on toast
Dinner, LO honey glazed ham, fried eggs & AF chips
I agree, Bovril has gone up so much.  These are old ones that have sat in the cupboard.  I wonder if Bovril actually goes off  :D

Leek and potato soup is one of my favourites.  I just had some for supper with a little grated cheese on top.  Game changer!  It really is a compliment to L&P soup!

We've had the same weather as Farways side of the  order, grey with a wee bit of sun poking out

quiet day other than my usual Wednesday evening meeting up with friends which TBH is relatively quiet. I fielded a couple of calls with my elderly friend most of it I could deal with over the phone and have been summoned there to read a message from her mobile provider she can't read, I did say I wasn't going up today and if she thought it was urgent I'm sure one of her neighbours would read it!

I used the pork up in a roll with salad.  Chicken and leek pie for dinner with vegetables.

I realised I had two portions of homemade soup in the freezer (curried butternut squash) so I'm having that instead for today and tomorrow for lunch. I will make the leek and potato one at the weekend. It is the season for soups and comfort food. :)
