So far it's a dry but dull day here. I had a nice walk around the town and stopped at the butcher for a piece of round steak and some root veg to make a stew for tomorrow.

But today lunch was a prawn salad sandwich and tonight from the freezer it’s moussaka which I’ll have with shredded cabbage and ss peas.

Moussaka is one of my favourite foods! I usually have it with a dressed crunchy salad but, frankly, I'd eat it with anything!

I had half a roll with pate and homemade chutney earlier, along with some home cooked gammon, and had the other half roll with butter and Bovril just now as I was still peckish.

Uneventful night, never heard any wind or rain, so presumably not much here.
A bit breezy now, with blue sky & quite mild, should be an easy drive for Brambling, unless any trees are down New Forest area

Off for double jabs later, flu & Cvd, sore arms for a few days I expect

Jabs are lunchtime, so late lunch of some sort of sandwich. Very glad the chippy opposite the surgery has turned into a burger bar, or I'd be in there after my jabs

Dinner, I have a YS honey roast gammon joint defrosting, so that will be dinner, but with jabs & late lunch, could be just in a sandwich using my freshly made loaf

It is quite bright and sunny, but very windy still.

I am going out to a festival where there will be lots of food and I have dinner booked at an Italian restaurant later so I'm not having any breakfast as i don't want to ruin my appetite. :)

    Good morning everyone,
Hello Fruball, must be Bovril season, I had a mugful yesterday after buying a jar for the first time in years. T'was lovely.
My Tesco delivery arrived though slightly late, I'm glad I didn't have a later slot as the driver said they had cancelled the evening deliveries.
We're on the very fringe of the amber zone for Storm Amy and it has been pretty wild. I've got a leak at my bay window so will need to get back in touch with roofer but apart from no other damage so far though it;s to get really wild again this afternoon. DS2 has just headed out (in his new waterproofs) to walk Hector before the weather closes in again.
Last night I made a chunky Cullen Skink style stew using smoked basa. I had some with calvo nero and it was blooming lovely. There's some LO for lunch which I might top with a poached egg.  For dinner I've defrosted the other half of the Hairy Bikers' burger mix that I made a few weeks ago . We'll have these topped with mozzarella in ciabatta rolls with salsa type salad for dinner. This afternoon I plan to make a pan of chicken and rice soup, both DS2 and I are both trying to lose weight and we are going to have a bowl of that for dinner tomorrow. When the veg was cheap at Easter I prepped a few bags of par cooked chopped carrots, parsnips and swede. I've defrosted one to use in the soup so just onion, celery and leek to chop today.  :)

Another restless night with the wind waking me up. Huge waves are hitting the shore and already we have overtopping of the sea wall an hour before its high tide.

I found some comte cheese and some pineapple in the freezer I had forgotten about, so an easy salad for lunch.

I finally managed to get cauliflower grills from sainsbury so I’ll have one of those tonight with some of this veg on the side https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/honey-roasted-beetroot-carrots

Really quite stormy here earlier. Decided to go for a swim this morning and then did grocery shop on way back. Had a short walk late afternoon to return a parcel, was fine when I went out but got rained on on the way back 🌧😕

Beans with toast for lunch. More tapas and baguette tonight, whilst watching strictly 💃🏽

Yoghurt and blueberries for breakfast. A tin of beans with Mexican quorn chicken for lunch. I got it out the fridge to warm up as I had taken it to work for my lunch on Friday but didn’t end up eating it. A cheese sandwich for dinner. Not gonna make the curry I was thinking of as I forgot I repurposed the ingredients yesterday.

Bright here today. You may spot me posting on here quite a bit today as I am studying and have promised myself a post for every task I achieve.

Sunny & breezy, we seem to have got off very lightly compared to others.

Had my jabs yesterday and so far not even sore arms

Ok, sold  :D , I've added a jar of Bovril to my Asda list. Gasped at the price, but everything is silly now, isn't it?
I see Morries to a cheaper fake one, I may try that if I'm in there before my Asda delivery
