It is a beautiful and bright sunny day here today. I just had two toasted crumpets with Flora and I'm about to make a hot drink, even though it isn't cold.2025 GOALS

A touch frosty this morning, a woman told me the outside temp was 3c as she headed into work just before 9am.
I took the early bus into the City, there were a couple of things I wanted to get from lakeland then I had a mooch around M&S before getting the bus home.
A portion of soup for lunch with some crusty bread.
I picked up ys scotch eggs from m&s I’ll have one tonight with baked beans and chips.

Another bright, sunny day here but was mostly in the office, at least the commute was nice 😊
Was organised yesterday so had a lunchbox of sweet potato and feta couscous in my lunch bag. Needed quick and easy tea so spaghetti with a sauce made from LO roast tomatoes and chicken with cream cheese and broccoli.1 -
According to my sister we had a light frost last Tuesday when she left for work at 7am, gone by the time I looked out. Today was a blue sky day
I spent the afternoon with an elderly friend, catching up and doing some small jobs for her, those that involved brain not brawn!
Home via Waitrose where I picked up some mackerel fillets and redfish fillets reduced by half price on their fish counter also a very thick reduced pork loin chop from the meat counter. All added to the freezer.
Almost copying Farway for lunch, I had tinned mackerel on toast for lunch.
Dinner I picked up some of Waitrose 'posh' seafood starters in scallop shells YS £2 rather than £6.75, king prawns, poached and smoked salmon and a dill sauce I'm too MSE to pay full price but very tasty with a watercress salad and a crusty roll.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -

Good morning everyone,
I'm retired itsthelittlethings.
A bit of everything weatherwise day I think. I definitely think I need to look at setting the heating to come on for an hour in the morning soon, apart from one day last week I've resisted so far but the bathroom was decidedly chilly this morning!
Started the ragu yesterday so I've popped back on the stove to simmer for a few hours and I'll portion it later. Some is for the freezer and some for tomorrow. Didn't get as far as starting tonight's curry yesterday so will get the bese prepped after I get the daily chores out of the way.
DS2 woke early and took the pooches for a longer than usual walk before he started work, they are both now crashed on the sofa. Frank goes home tonight and Hector will then no doubt be a lazy boy for few days!
Lunch will be a portion of the carrot and coriander soup I made on Sunday.1 -
I’m retired too. I went to the chiropodist this morning and then went to a local bakery for breakfast. My phone got hacked at the weekend and I forgot so my card got declined at the chiropodist so I had to call my husband and use his card . Then at the bakery their card machine was broken and I didn’t have any cash so my husband had to meet me!🤣 One of those days.
I'm going into London now as I have a talk to go to tonight. I booked a hotel as I hate coming back here at night, but it was quite reasonable.
I feel quite tired as I’m almost at 8,000 steps already.2025 GOALS

Another retiree here, I managed to take early retirement a number of years ago although officially reach oap status next month.
Bright sunny day with a fresh breeze so I took the opportunity to get some washing out on the line before the rain heads this way.
Also in the mood for a curry, I cooked a coconut milk based sauce this morning to let the flavours develop a bit before I add the prawns & ss peas later and do some cauliflower rice to go with it.
Lunch is a salad with the other ys scotch egg.

Lovely warm sunshine & blue sky, some trees are looking good in this Autumn sunA bit of a busy morning, prescription, post Tax return & Morries for a moochThey had some lovely cauliflowers, ideal for C Cheese FO, one went in my trolley for tomorrow. There was a nice-sized haddock fillet, YS around £2 from £8, but use-by date was yesterday, I would chance it with some foods but not fishI thought past use date was not allowed to be sold? Maybe things change, but being Morries more likely just incompetenceOn subject of SMs. Youngest DGS has just got a part-time job in Sainsbury. He "Thinks" he wants to go on to Uni but is dithering, and his dad, my DS, is not having him lolling about, not working, while he thinks about his future. The acorn did not fall far from this treeLunch, grilled cheese on toastDinner, YS Morries MFO Cod in parsley sauceNumerus non sum1

JKS here, representing the workers 😂
Little while until I can give up full time work but making good, healthy food is really important to me.
Falafel, houmous and grated carrot wrap for lunch, with a bit of avocado and some sriracha. Last LO roast chicken thigh in an egg fried rice with yellow pepper and sugar snap peas tonight.1
