I took rpearly retirement last year.

There was a nice-sized haddock fillet, YS around £2 from £8, but use-by date was yesterday, I would chance it with some foods but not fish
I thought past use date was not allowed to be sold? Maybe things change, but being Morries more likely just incompetence

I don't think they are meant to sell food after the use by date Farway, I'm assuming it was missed.  I wouldn't trust fish or chicken either.

Blue skies again today so I was able to hang out my washing.  It didn't dry completely but took the edge off.

i went back to my elderly friend this afternoon, she is having to replace her boiler so I was checking her quote, I did do some homework online this morning.  I also removed some she accidentally added to amazon prime (mgm?) which was costing her 5.99 and sorted out Netflix for her, not very MSE as she wanted to pay the extra not to have ads, I don't have it but it was easy to set up on her tablet and her TV.

smoked mackerel pate with crackers for lunch.  Vension burger (Ocardo flash sale)  in a ciabatta roll with fried onions and a side salad for dinner.

Dull but mild, no rain due, maybe get a small splash on Saturday here [sorry Caronc], so I was out watering first thing
It's supposed to get windy though.

Lunch, I've some mushrooms that need using before they go to compost, maybe in an omelette?
Dinner, The lovely cauli I bought, as C Cheese, plus, if I can find any in the freezer, some breaded fish, or posh f fingers

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds as though your Morries as bad as the local one for letting things past their use by still be on sale. Ours has a poor reputation for it and seems to struggle with the difference between use by and BBE products!
Manky morning here, DS2 and Hector got completely soaked on their morning hike. Both are needing new waterproofs sooner rather than later I think.
I've got a day of admin ahead so happy to not be needing to venture out.
Frank was very pleased to see DS1 but then didn't want to go home lol as he was snoozing on the couch!
Chicken , turmeric and lentil dish was very good but definitely a soup rather than a curry IMO. I'll make again but probably add more lentils to make it thicker next time. There's LOs for lunch which is handy as there's only a very small portion of the carrot and coriander soup left. Spag bol with salad for dinner tonight.

I had a nice time in London and did over 20,000 steps yesterday. I had a juice, some grapes and a Greggs vegan steak bake for lunch and still feel quite full up. I’m going to look in the freezer for something for dinner. I think I have two portions of the butternut squash soup I made in there.

Brightening up a bit this afternoon but it was a gloomy, wet and windy morning, the perfect day for catching up on some paperwork and household chores.

    Cottage cheese salad for lunch.

Vegetable spring rolls and fried rice tonight.

Miserable wet, grey day here. Managed a short walk in the dry later on to collect a parcel.

Rinse and repeat lunch of falafel and houmous wrap. Roasted some veg while the oven was on for couscous lunchbox tomorrow. Old favourite of sausage and leek pasta tonight with broccoli on the side.

Not sure about the weather as I was inside all day. I think it rained a bit as I was going in. Bolognese pasta bake out the freezer this evening, very nice.

I woke with a headache this morning so I've had a quiet day.  I did go back to bed this afternoon and felt better after a rather long afternoon sleep it's still lingering but not so bad.

i finished the smoked mackerel pate with crackers for lunch,

late dinner of quiche and salad.  I like the small Higgidy quiches but only buy if I can pick them up on offer or YS this was smoked bacon and mature cheddar 😋

Had an email Waitrose Christmas slots available, except when I looked all the useful days before are fully booked. Looks like Asda on line & Morries mooching this year

Lunch, maybe open tin of soup, warming & comfort
Dinner, I have LO Cauli cheese, but may just nuked some RM from the freezer

    Good morning everyone,
Looks like we have some manky weather coming over the next few days. No wind yet but it's grey and wet though DS2 and Hector managed to avoid getting drenched on their walked first thing.
I need to sort out tomorrow's Tesco order, do some housework and prep veg and mash for dinner tonight. I've unearthed the final tub of of pigs in blankets I put together last Christmas for us to have tonight. I think there's a tub of HM gravy in the freezer but if not it will be good old Bisto! Lunch will be either fridge gravel or a tin of soup.
