    Good morning everyone,
Yes I was rather horrified by the Bovril price but managed to wrap it in a 4/3 offer with other cupboard stuff I was needing which helped slightly.
The storm has passed though it's still pretty blowy and a good few degrees cooler. DS2 has had a look in the loft area and the leak would seem to be where the main roof joins the bay so should be a fairly simple repair. My only other damage would seem to be my bbq cover which has been completely shredded. We've been lucky compared to many in the area.
The boys are meeting up with their Dad to give the pooches a good beach run. DS1 will swing by afterwards for a quick lunch - BLTs I think.  Tonight's soup is pretty much made just needs a final season, probably thinned a bit  and the chicken thighs fished out and shredded.

Hello Fruball, must be Bovril season, I had a mugful yesterday after buying a jar for the first time in years. T'was lovely.
Ok, sold  :D , I've added a jar of Bovril to my Asda list. Gasped at the price, but everything is silly now, isn't it?
I see Morries to a cheaper fake one, I may try that if I'm in there before my Asda delivery

Me too, I bought some after Caronc mentioned having it with rice cakes and cottage cheese for breakfast  :D

Brunch for me today was a toasted ciabatta roll filled with bacon, a fried egg and a squirt of brown sauce.

Dinner is harissa lamb steak, pomegranate couscous and a side salad

I had a lovely wood fired pizza and garlic bread at a restaurant last night. It was so windy yesterday. We stayed at a quaint coastal Airbnb that had beams and a chandelier. It was very nice and cosy with the wind whistling through the old windows. I have had a banana and a smoothie and I'm going out to London for Sunday lunch later. I just came home to get changed and do some laundry and then I'm going back out.

Much better weather here today, dry and bright but still quite windy - load of bedding dried on the line this afternoon. I’ve also done the rest of the ironing, been for a swim and met my sister for some fresh air and a cuppa.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Made a casserole with pork shoulder steak, leeks, apples, cider, mustard and creme fraiche tonight. Popped a jacket spud in the oven at the same time and also had green beans and sugar snap peas 😋

The roast dinner yesterday was delicious!

I just had a smoothie as I need to use up some fresh fruit and also I am getting my cholesterol tested next week so I need to start eating healthier. The cholesterol had fallen a lot last time, but i am hoping it has improved more.

I am making a pasta bake later to use up the end of the penne and the courgettes, tomatoes, peppers and onions.

I am supposed to be meeting someone from my book group around lunchtime, but I might just get a hot drink and have something beforehand, maybe a toasted ciabatta roll with something.

    Good morning everyone,
Grey, showery and quite chilly here today.
I put the 10 tog duvet on my bed yesterday so was lovely and cosy last night, even with a fleecy blanket on top the 5 tog one was no longer quite enough.
The chicken and rice soup was delicious, just as well as there is 8-10 portions still in the fridge! We'll use some for lunch over the next couple of days and then it will be freezer tetris! Omelettes tonight with veg and AF chips.

Another bright autumnal day, warm in the sun but that wind is cold!

Tapas/mezze for lunch - end of the oven bits, a tub of houmous, the open olives and an ancient block of feta plus carrot sticks and a stuffed vine leaf 😋

Swimming and a couple of errands after work. Back for pasta with green beans, broccoli, pesto, gherkins and creme fraiche and a piece of salmon.

Lunch provided at a work thing tomorrow and then I’m out to eat in the evening so just breakfast to assemble (no actual CFOing) 😉

I forgot to post when I got back from Dorset yesterday late afternoon and have been playing catchup on my sleep today 🥱 I had a lovely weekend but the hip is objecting today probably due to the driving and sitting too long with no walking all weekend.  I left home about 7am on Saturday and missed most of the traffic, the M27 has had chunks of road works for years so there are several 50 miles sections 🙄 Farway any idea when that finishes? Without the tea break I would have done it in a couple of hours.

I got to see about 26 of the immediate family plus a couple of in laws on pick up duty across four generations (between 11 months and 85 years) one on my cousins and her husband even turned up 🙂 just as well my sister has a large lounge/ dining room.  Between my sister and niece there were about a dozen different kinds of cake 😋 there was news of another baby due in March to add to the two due this month and a engagement 🙂

I stay in today and did very little other than dealing with a Ocardo delivery, I'm sure they should have been able to find a substitution for my mushrooms? I have a dentist checkup in town tomorrow so may pick some up

I only brought a small jar of brovil last time, I refused to pay for a large jar and I may have not used my in door voice when muttering over the price in store.  We grew up on brovil rather than marmite so it's my choice for when I want something savoury on toast.

scrambled eggs for lunch.  I chipped some LO new potatoes in the airfryer and had with breaded fish and pea for a lazy dinner.

Dark and I can hear the sound of the city in the background.

Fish curry for dinner. It’s supposed to take about 45 minutes to make. Buying a sandwich at work as my bread went off.
