For dinner it’s another recipe from tesco september magazine, although I used turkey mince instead of chicken.

    https://realfood.tesco.com/recipes/spiced-chicken-meatballs-with-garlic-tomato-sauce-and-tahini-yogurt-drizzle.html

I have bookmarked to try so will be interested to know what you think of it.

I really liked it, however as it serves 6 I halved the quantities but did use heaped tsp’s of the spices just to make sure the flavour wasn't lost and I could certainly taste the cumin and coriander. I also used spring onions and onion granules in the meatballs instead of grated onion.

I have some of the yoghurt and tahini sauce leftover so I’m having it for lunch with flatbread, salad and veg sticks.

Tonight from the freezer stash is liver & bacon casserole, I'll have it with some mashed potatoes & swede.

    Thanks N2BT

I’ve been indoors the past few days as I got a cough with the cold. I’ve gone through quite a few cupboards and tidied up. I found three packets of those cheapo curry noodles that I forgot I bought so I’m making a stir fry tonight. I have onion, carrots, peppers and peas. I might put a chopped up veggie sausage in it too. The date on the noodles was last month, but I’m sure they will be fine. :)

I always have some of those noodles in the cupboard, along with my freezer stash of hm soup they are my go to when I'm feeling a bit poorly. And when I'm poorly I don't care about best before dates  :D

Oh yes. That is a good idea actually as I always keep emergency tins of soup in the cupboard now so I might add some more quick cook noodles to my next grocery order too. :) A bag of frozen veg too to chuck in with the noodles.

I'm trying to use things up from my freezer tomorrow. I have a leftover container with coconut milk, one with Italian sauce and some frozen butternut squash so it will be butternut squash soup with a buttered roll that I will defrost overnight.

  • Back to damp and grey for most of the day.

Needed warm food at lunchtime so scrambled eggs and mushroom on toasted bagel. Chicken fajitas tonight, had a bit early before an early evening appointment. LO fajita filling to turn into something later in the week 🙃

I stayed in today other than popping out this evening to see friends, too wet and miserable to go out.

Lunch time call from Sky to arrange moving my landline over before it is switched off (or whatever they are doing?) made for a late lunch so I just had tomato, cheese and crackers followed by some fruit.

I didn't get home this evening until nearly 8.30pm, cba to cook and my stomach was objecting to something so had beans on toast for dinner.

Farway / Wednesday I hope the lurgies soon disappear

Still grey, dull, breezy & a bit damp.

Decided to skip going to Morries with my lurking Lurgy, which seems to be very variable, comes & goes, ate everything yesterday & feeling fine this morning

I'm trying to complete my Asda order, but the website is playing up & not letting me in, I'm having to keep changing browsers.
Works OK on my mobile, but that's a PIA for me, so could be Waitrose again

Lunch, last of the B in BLT sandwich
Dinner, defrost some boil in bag kippers, with HM mash & frozen peas

    Good morning everyone,
Shame the lurgy is still lurking Farway, hope it goes soon. Hope you are feeling better today Wednesday.
Dryish and sunnyish here today though it's blowy and quite cool.
Trying to keep out of the way as DS1 ended up bringing Frank down this morning and is working from my kitchen until lunchtime when he'll head off leaving Frank here for a couple of days.
There's a couple of pieces of Greek pie LO so that's lunch covered. Tonight we are having omelettes with AF chips, garlicky mushrooms and either beans or various veg.

Breezy here too but the sun is shining and I got my bedding washed and dried on the line in record time.

Egg and cress sandwich for lunch and because I wasn't in the mood to do much cooking today I was delighted to find a portion of chicken curry in the freezer :)  which I’ll have with boiled rice and green beans.

I forget to get the rolls out. I will do it now. I had sliced cucumber in a toasted pitta and grapefruit juice. I'm going to make the butternut squash soup today and then later I'm having a bean burger, potato wedges, corn and salad.

I'm feeling much better today. My husband's family said lots of people at their work are off with Covid again, but I didn't test myself. I just stayed indoors anyway.
