I've only been stung once and it was on a bus too. I lent on a wasp with my hand when I sat down. My hand and arm went all red and blotchy.

I just had my usual toast. I had a really nice vanilla milkshake in Bournemouth and so I ordered some vanilla syrup to try and recreate it so I will try that in a minute.

Bright, autumnal day here but crazy work day so only saw it out of the window 😂

Did manage a swim after work.

Cheese and chutney sandwich with cherry tomatoes for lunch. Egg fried rice with LO Chinese pork, broccoli, red pepper and baby sweetcorn tonight 😋

We certainly had the best times back then. I think today that children don't have the opportunities for what I call 'dangerous play' where we built camps, fell out of trees etc. and we sorted out our differences. I don't remember any serious injuries or lasting traumas!

You are correct - Pamphill doesn't have any buses. It's a lovely place and I hame walked dogs up there for years - down All Fools Lane and along by the river. It was (and still is) a lovely walk even though I no longer have a dog to accompany me.

Too many places we played in unfortunately became housing estates, we were typical 70s kids sent out after breakfast with instructions to be back by lunchtime, the thought of two little girls walking miles on the common and in woods is slightly frightening these days.

We would get the bus to Wimborne and I think there were allotments near Old Road we would walk through them then up the fields to Eyebridge.  Every time my mum would panic about a bull in the field and make my poor dad walk up and come back for her, and he would tell her it was a public footpath so the farmer wasn't allowed to put in a bull and it was her uncle Teds cows and he didn't have a bull! Home via my great aunt who lived in Old Road. My mind has been down memory lane today 🙂 I may have to go next time I'm in Dorset, it's been 4 or 5 years (definitely pre hip as we walked up Vine Hill).

Ocardo delivery tonight after 6pm so £2 I'm still weary about going to SM and carrying heavy shopping.  Everything was present and I got some flash sale 40% off mince, salmon and sea bass.

Scrambled egg on a toasted bagel for lunch.

LO chicken and rice from Monday for dinner

Ah, yes - housing estates. I was a child in the 1940s and 50s and grew up in Parkstone. Canford Heath was our playground and we never saw a soul all day but found lizards and slow worms. Now it is a huge sprawling estate.

If you allowed children to wander as we did I think parents wound be accused of neglect.

Vine Hill is steep! In fact wherever you walk it always seems to involve a hill in one direction or the other. I live halfway down a hill in Corfe Mullen and the hill behind my house gets steeper every day! Like you I am post hip and no longer drive (not because of the hip) so I have to walk up that hill whenever I need to go to the shop or Post Office or catch the bus.

Definitely not a fan of the ageing process but I have enjoyed going down Memory Lane with you.

My bread is nearly ready to come out of the bread maker so I will be able to have a slice of that at lunchtime with something or other. This evening I am having a chicken and mushroom pie because it's a rather miserable day and I am veering towards winter food!

Woke up to rain, which stopped for a bit, but more to come according to forecast.

Update on my £2 Waitrose delivery, slot now 11 - 12, fine by me. One sub, but it's just lettuce variety, not item, so no problems.
Given the weather, I think, like Jaybee, veering more towards winter food now.

    Lunch, salad sandwhich
Dinner, There's an on offer steak in the expected delivery, so that may feature tonight, depending on looks & how I feel

I saw signs for Wimborne at the weekend.

I'm off to Brighton for an overnight trip today. I couldn't fit my umbrella in my bag so I will have to buy one when I get there if I need one. It has just started raining now I'm on the train. I didnt have time for breakfast so I will have to buy something when I get to London Bridge.

    Good afternoon everyone,
Grey, damp and chilly here. My sis popped by earlier to pick up something and we ended up nattering for ages so the morning just disappeared. Thankfully there's only a couple of things I definitely want to do today so will tackle these later.
Noodle soup again for lunch to use up the remaining noodles. Today topped with LO salmon rather than chicken.
Taco mince from the freezer tonight which we'll have with rice and salad.

I hate being in confined spaces with stinging critters, they always seem to find me and I've no way of escaping from them   :(

I've had some soup from my freezer stash for lunch and Farway reminded me I have half a sirloin steak in the freezer so I'll have that tonight with potato wedges and chimichurri sauce.

  • Dull, damp day here and is already pretty much fully dark 😕

Better work day but still only did about 10% of what I’d planned to!

Posh fishfinger sandwich for lunch, in a pitta with gherkins and sriracha. Used up some cherry tomatoes that were starting to go a bit soft in a pasta sauce with garlic, cream cheese and basil, had it with spaghetti.

Went to do a food shop after work, quite liking mid week afternoon shops 🙃

I hope Brighton isn't too wet Wednesday.

it's been a wet day again so I stayed home and pottered. I popped out to see friends for a short while this evening and it had stopped.

Small quiche with salad for lunch.

Didn't fancied the planned LO salmon for dinner so unearthed a pizza from the freezer
