  • Sunny and breezy here today so another two loads of washing dry on the line. That’s me caught up, I had bedding and towels from before I went away on top of holiday washing. I’ve also ironed what feels like everything I own 😂

Not much else today, it was a very long week back at work.

Mezze for lunch which included some of the aubergine in tomato sauce from Greek week 😋. Prawn, broccoli and baby corn Thai red curry with noodles tonight.

Dry & breezy, supposed to clear up later, hope so, then I can get views of the Blood Moon eclipse this evening.

Finalised my W'rose shopping, opted for the cheaper 4-hour window delivery, only £2, but they are supposed to let me know the hour slot come the day, once the van's route has been worked out.

Lunch, last of the cheese & tom rolls
Dinner, defrosting a YS Pukka veggie pie, maybe have with HM mash or maybe chips, TBD later

I had a garlic bread and a pizza at a nice restaurant in Poole harbour last night. The pizza was so huge that we couldn't finish it all. That is a lovely area too. My friend said we should move to Dorset and I'm quite tempted.  :D

There was a thunderstorm here this morning, but it has got a lot warmer since then.

Sky is a bit grey and overcast so probably wont see the eclipse here but the moon is obviously affecting the tides; there’s a really choppy sea with huge waves racing to shore.

That's how I work my sainburys order Farway, choosing the 11.00-3.00 saver slot and I get a text/email with an hour slot on the day of delivery - so far it’s usually been between 12.00 & 13.00.

Houmous, crusty bread and veg sticks for lunch.

I’m defrosting some prawns for tonight but haven’t quite decided whether to do a baked potato & salad or a fried rice - decisions decisions

I'm only about 4 miles from Poole - Corfe Mullen which is near Wimborne. Wimborne is a nice town to visit too.

Most of this area seems nice. We went to Westbourne yesterday and that seems quite nice and quiet. Alum Chine beach is lovely and we walked from the woods to Bournemouth today.

Slightly busier day, managed a swim and a trip to buy wine (with a voucher 😉). Also swept the kitchen floor and done some life admin (blinking multiple pensions!)

More mezze for lunch. Chinese pork shoulder steak with stir fried veg and noodles tonight.

Small world Jaybee I grew up in Corfe Mullen and still have family there I left when I was 18. I do love Dorset and think it's a beautiful county but I'm happy here in Sussex which js also beautiful just not so close to the coast. The Wimborne bypass is a pain when visiting especially in the summer.

Another nice day, not that I did much other than my usual walk which is now up to a mile a day and some crafting.

Salad for lunch with the last of a pack of sliced beef.

It was my turn to try Caroncs Senegalese Chicken tonight 😋 I was a bit short on Dijon and typically I didn't have a new jar, so added a little wholegrain.  Very tasty with rice and some LO green beans.  It's not obviously lime when you eat it but it adds a brightness to the dish. I had a scotch bonnet in the freezer and chopped about a third which was just right. I cheated on the rice and used a bag of basmati and quinoa and dropped it on my foot when I took it out the MW so the steam vented on my big toe which is now red  :s

Small world indeed. I have always lived in Dorset and grew up in Lower Parkstone. When I bought my first house in Corfe Mullen in 1974 everyone said that I would be miles away from anywhere and it did indeed seem that I drove through miles of countryside to get to work in Bournemouth. That was then - now it just seems like a suburb of Poole. Everywhere has changed so much in the last 50 years. I still like it here though!

Today I am making a load of bolognaise sauce to put in the freezer in individual portions. Nice easy lady meals!
