A lot grey and wet here until late afternoon. Steady work day plus finished putting away all the random holiday bits.
Lunch was spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes. Chorizo and chickpea stew with toasted pitta tonight. I’ve exhausted the meal options from what was in the house so have been to do a food shop 🙃1 -
Wednesday2000 said:Brambling - sorry, if I asked you this before, but how long did you have to wait for your operation on the NHS? I worry about needing a hip operation as my father and grandmother both had to have one. My dad was only around 60 when he had his surgery and I will be 50 next year. I was saying that to my school friend that I'm seeing this weekend as she has MS and needs a scooter now to go anywhere. I want to make sure I have the cash to go private if I need a hip replacement as walking is about the only exercise I get!I managed to get wet twice this morning and all I did was drop a birthday card off at a friend. Heavy rain on and off (more on than off) until late afternoon, I believe it's due to start again in the morning 🙄.
Last of the corned beef and coleslaw for lunch, it was only a small tin but generous 🙂 corned beef sandwiches reminds me of one of my sisters who would visit her MIL for tea and she would feed six people (4 adults and 2 teenagers) sandwiches made with a small tin of corned beef and 3 tomatoes I went with them once and she just stretched it further. 😁

Good morning everyone,
Yes my mum used to be very good at stretching a small tin of corned beef to make 6 rounds of sandwiches for packed lunches. She used to mash rather than slice it and added some Branston or salad cream and chopped tomato.
My back isn't great again this morning, I'm not sure if it's just post physio or if I need another session next week. I'll see how it goes. I've ran out of ibuprofen gel which isn't helping! DS2 will pick up some for me at lunch time.
We really enjoyed the Turkish lentil soup, just as well as it made loads. The recipe said 4 portions but it was far too thick after blending so I had to thin it out. DS2 and I each had a generous bowlful and it's hardly made a dent in it! Some more will get used for lunch and I'll freeze the rest for future meals.
My sister is coming for dinner, we are having some of the tasty Tesco pork and paprika hot dog style sausages. I've bought buns and I'll make coleslaw, wedges and corn cobettes to have with them.0 -
