It is too hot. I am wearing my neck fan indoors. I haven't eaten yet. I might make a smoothie with lots of ice.
I just took the duvet off and replaced it with the much lighter one.2025 GOALS

Scorching hot, another restless night, like Brambling, up every few hours, gave up in the end.It was foot appointment and then mooch in Morries.Actually the main reason for Morries was to top up with diesel for visit to DD on Sunday, held of filling up until MOT passed, just in case.YS potato salad, 63p down from over a couple of quid, even the check-out lady was impressed !Plus some lovely pork loin and a ham hock, not YS but on offer. The hock I'll probably cook on Monday.Lunch, mini pork pie + salad bits, including some YS potato saladDinner, grilled pork loin, + salad bits & YS pot. saladNumerus non sum1

I did hear the rumbling thunder but thankfully no rain. North and West of us did happen to get the worst of the downpours.
I went into the City early to find a PO to renew my driving licence - the excuse from the city centre one was the tablet wasn't working
so had to walk a couple of miles to find another “participating” outlet.
Lunch was a shop bought sandwich in city centre gardens before getting the bus home.
Dinner - chicken kiev, “ping” rice and broccoli.

Another long short week (so ready for some proper time off) but made it to the weekend 🙃
Cheese and egg salad for lunch with a fresh ciabatta roll that I popped out for. Also got ricotta for tonight’s tea with gnocchi, courgette, lemon and chilli.
I didn’t do a proper shop last weekend but have managed to make meals from what I had in plus nipping out for a few bits some days.1 -
Another bad night sleep last night I gave up trying to sleep and came downstairs for a hour at 1.30am no idea what I watched on TV and it confused his lordship especially after I evicted him from my chair. I finally dropped off at 3 and woke at 5. I did have a sleep on the spare bed for a couple of hours this afternoon, it felt cooler than my bedroom in the front. It reached 29c here to so I was glad I did my walk at 8am.
I used the last of the feta in a Greek salad for lunch. Dinner was salmon salad with a part baked ciabatta roll, the salad was pre cooked and too hot to cook my new potatoes

Cooler at last, after another restless night's "sleep" though.Getting worn out, but fortunately I don't have to go to work or look after a family so no real harm doneWith my improved back, I managed to get watering the needy pot plants at the front this morning, which will be about all the “work” I have to do todayLunch, another mini pork pie + salad bitsDinner, the remaining pork loin, grilled, with more salad bits & YS potato saladNumerus non sum1

It feels lovely and cool in comparison to the past few days.
I'm going to have my usual smoothie and toast and marmite. I have lots of salad stuff so I might have a veggie burger with salad and a bun for lunch.2025 GOALS

Good morning everyone,
Overcast but dry and warm here today.
DS2 has headed to Glasgow to help DS1 and DIL2B with their kitchen refurb. Depending on how it goes I may or may not be CFO this evening. I'll decide what to have for dinner later. Eggs for lunch, either scrambled with veg or boiled with salad.1 -
Having a lazy day today, after all the walking I did yesterday I ended up with a large blister on the ball of my foot which burst so I’ll give it a chance to heal a bit before doing any more walking on it.
Decided on a poached egg on toast for breakfast then nibbled on some fruit for lunch.
Dinner - salmon, stuffed sweet peppers and couscous.

Fairly lazy here too although I did have a bit of a clean in the kitchen and braved the grocery shop (shop was incredibly quiet but the traffic was awful).
Had some of the ricotta with balsamic tomatoes on toasted bagel for lunch. Tuna steak with sweet chilli stir fried noodles and veg tonight.1
