Very wet and grey here first thing but then sunny and very windy this afternoon 🤔

Day out with family today so a simple picnic lunch. Didn’t feel the need for an ice cream but enjoyed a proper cuppa during the afternoon. Easy tea of quiche, roasted LO new potatoes, salad and coleslaw.

I hope the Scottish contingent haven't been washed away? We had a damp day but it wasn't heavy rain

After being out yesterday and missing my afternoon sleep today it caught up with me, I dozed on and off after lunch in my chair with my legs down and after a hour decided I needed to lay them down! So popped to bed with some music and woke up after 5pm 3 hours later. So I'm a little out of sync.

My sister popped round for a couple of hours after dinner and stripped and remade my bed and took away the dirty to wash.  I could get used to that 😁

Lazy day food wise, beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch and scrambled egg go toasty for dinner.

I had a smoothie for breakfast as I'm going out for afternoon tea in London today and I didn't want to be too full up.

    Good morning everyone,
Yesterday was extremely windy but not hugely wet just the odd heavy but short lived downpour. It was quite odd to have blazing sunshine at points with such strong gusts. As far as I can tell we've no damage but going by FB others in area haven't been as lucky. Less windy this morning but tipping it down.
Physio yesterday was painful but helpful and I'm feeling much less stiff. Still sore from being prodded but that should ease in the next couple of days.
Bit the bullet and have ordered a lightweight stick vacuum so between it and my new handheld that should make things a bit easier as  I'm really finding my Henry hoover quite heavy these days.
Ham salad wrap for lunch. My sis is coming for dinner and making a pasta bake with salad and HM garlic bread. I cook the ragu yesterday  so not too much to do later.

Sun has returned and still breezy

My back is improving but still restricting me to hobbling about, so food is still grab & go what fancy at the time

Today is MOT day, fingers crossed, but I have service added so not expecting a cheap day by any means, even new oil and filters are squillions now.

    Lunch, sandwich, filling TBD
    Dinner, probably a frozen RM

The cheese pies are fab, N2BT and JKS, we're having one this week.
Thanks Caronc, I’ll perhaps try another store before Greek week finishes.

Storm wise we got off lightly compared to some, the rain stopped late morning and the wind was at its worst early evening. Some of the garden furniture did get rearranged though.

Salad for lunch with cottage cheese and drizzled with sweet chilli sauce.

Tonight it's chilli con carne with sweet potato wedges and cabbage slaw.

Good luck with the mot Farway.

Well today just flew by, only had one day off but seemed to have a lot to catch up on. Felt very autumnal here first thing but did warm up later, been very windy though - looked a bit battered after my lunchtime walk 🙃

Quiche, coleslaw and salad for lunch. Prawn and green bean Thai red curry with noodles tonight.

My service and MOT is due at the end of the month and I've had the email reminding me that they will soon be taking my tax 😕 I still won't be driving so I'm paying for them to pick up and return

after too much sleep yesterday I had a wakeful night and gave up at 5am, I've managed to avoid a nap as well.

Beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch.  Bean burger with flat bread and salad for dinner, they were just right in their spice level

Sunny and warm again today, going by the pictures and reports on social media the storm brought down loads of trees and blocked roads to the north and west of where I am.

I had some veg that needed to be used up so decided to make a small pot of lentil & sweet potato soup which I’ll stash in the freezer, always handy to have.

    Lunch - Prawn salad

Dinner - https://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/turkey-steaks-citrus-ginger-sauce, sounded nice but just a version of sweet and sour

    Good morning everyone,
Trying to be sunny here, dry and no rain. We realised yesterday afternoon that our bbq cover had gone awol during the storm but it reappeared in the garden later on so it must have visited one of the neighbours!
My new vacuum has just arrived so I'll have a play with that later. I also want to make a pot of spiced tomato and rice soup as DS1 and DIL2B are here for dinner tomorrow. (We are going to have that with one of the large Greek pies from Lidl.)
The pasta bake was well received and as I only used half the ragu very economical and there's a portion LO for lunch. There's also a couple of slices of LO garlic bread which I'm going to crumb and freeze . Peri peri chicken tonight with sweet potatoes and salad.
