My lurgy is still undecided whether to become full blown plague or just stick at tickley cough / sniffle. Yesterday did finish up as sandwich, HM cake & Netflix binge. If anyone had looked through my window I'd probably have Social services round, poor old bloke hunched in chair with a blanket wrapped round:)

Must have needed sleep, only woke up at 0830, normally it's around 0600
I decided to stay in, despite it being a glorious day outside

Breakfast was porridge, sliced banana, HM yoghurt & honey
Lunch, no idea, but it is over 70 in the conservatory so it will be scoffed in there
    Dinner???

    Good morning everyone,
What a difference in the weather it's dry & sunny this morning though still cold!
Need to get my gardening mojo sorted out and get those pansies potted and the tom seeds planted:).

I'm with you Caron, once the sun moves round I'm out there later, clematis to plant, and toms to pot on. The cherry tree opposite my house is beautiful, in full blossom in the sunshine, and my neighbour has a magnolia which is heaving with about to burst buds, should be a good 'un this year

It's lovely here now, it's sunny with a blue sky. I was out there earlier playing fetch with my dog.:)

He's a lot better thanks Wednesday, still not 100% as back legs are still a little stiff but he doesn't seem to be in pain (that will be the metacam injection) so I will monitor him at home as he is eating and could jump on and off the bed. He wasn't talking to me last night but decided to forgive me for a while 5am this morning! Just means delaying letting him out for a while longer

Aw, I'm glad to read that he is feeling better.

I've still got the remnants of my cold/cough, so breakfast was a flu powder, that made those niggling symptoms disappear.

A bit later I had 2 choccy biscuits.

Not sure what's for lunch, but sausage rolls keep appearing in my thoughts.

The spot of mini gardening in the sun has improved lurgy, toms potted on, I have more than I really need, as always, I sow a few extra "just in case" All germinated this year.

Lunch finished up as cheese & tom sandwich, on stale bread :(
I'll get a fresh loaf tomorrow

Dinner, still ??? But thinking I must use up the LO roast spuds, pop in Actifry & eat dunked in ketchup, very healthy:o

If I'm still peckish then it is either toast or some of the YS flan / quiche

  • Not a lot to say re food at the moment - as in I'm tending to grab the lowest calorie stuff available much of the time and that doesn't exactly make for it being that interesting imo:rotfl:.

Oh well - with a combination of that and doing an exercise video most days that I don't Go For A Walk per se - it's starting to show results. Accidental glance in mirror whilst out was noticeable improvement I think. Got money for some new clothes burning a hole in my pocket (bank account) for when ....

So - I reckon it'll be a bed of couscous tonight with a topping of tomatoes, canned white beans, sauted (in vegetable broth) spring onions & garlic. With some steamed kale or spinach.

Didnt end up having lunch out yesterday after all - as I had a cup of coffee in revamped place/under new management and only main course option was the ubiquitous lasagne for vegetarians. So decided I might as well not spend that sorta money for an "everyday dish" in the event. Fingers crossed re more "modern" places opening up near me - starting to look a bit more promising in terms of what has opened since coming here.

I knew my local store were revamping themselves and moving stuff about and I went in today to get sausage rolls and it's all very disorientating. I think it'll take me a few months to get used to it and where things are. Having set routes I walk round takes me past things I might want, so if they move things about I'll not see things I might've wanted.

It's all different .... and very unsettling....

Sausage rolls for an early tea .... and then I had a couple more chocolate biscuits.

I made spicy vegetables pasta, sprinkled with parmesan ,a slice of toast with garlic butter on it,
Saw a carton of custard I the fridge that I opened last week so dug a piece of lemon cake out of freezer to have with it.
So I've got cream and custard left.:o

All germinated that fab, fingers crossed mine as are successful:)
Ditto re lunch including the stale bread, though I toasted mine.

    That sounds really tasty:)

The weather held today though it's changing again now so I managed a reasonably productive spell gardening. My poor irises though haven't fared well with the sleet yeaterday:(.
Pansies are potted on and I've started planting my tomato seeds. I've filled all the pots so will continue that tomorrow. My conservatory now resembles a greenhouse:rotfl::rotfl:. I deliberately over plant toms etc, as we get such a short growing season here I try to grow as many plants as I can to get a half decent harvest. I'm also expecting a load more bedding plants to arrive in the next couple of days so have set up containers to pot them on too, that way if it's pouring I can still get them sorted out.

I decided not to do a meal plan as my younger son was supposed to be up for a few days however, he has come down with a horrible sore throat so has sensibly decided to stay put. At least now he has a wee house he can get peace and quiet to recover over the weekend. Tomorrow I'll go through the fridge and plan meals for the next week so that my laden veg drawer gets used up.

I'm tired tonight after my gardening, consequently I'm not terribly steady on feet so going for an easy bung it in the oven option of jerk spiced chicken thigh, flat mushroom, tomato, courgette and sweet potato, I've spinach needing used up so will nuke that to have with it. :) There wull no doubt be roast veg left so that'll cover lunch tomorrow.
  • One does learn supermarket layouts and plan accordingly.

It can be more problematic having layout changes if it's a mahoosive one. But "mahoosive" isn't the word I'd use for the Tesco I now use:rotfl:.

So I've taken to writing down my Tesco list in the order according to where I'll find things and it does save time/hassle looking for what I want. So my list is now divided into a fruit/veg section (ie the first one as one comes in the store), "other" food, anything else.

Followed by the list being kept on me till I get home - as I write down everything I intend to buy in a supermarket - and then often find that I have to transfer a few things off the list and buy them in the health food store and/or even send for them via Amazon (as that size of Tesco/in this area isn't stocking it).

Seems to be about the most efficient system I can think of...

Breakfast was a flu powder, still got the cold remnants.

I had a mug .... but it's disappeared. I use ONE mug for coffee, which is beside me, then I pick it up and take it directly to the kitchen, rinse it through, make the next coffee in it and bring it back. That's its only journey. Every day, every time I drink coffee, it's in that mug. The mug is only ever right here by my side, alongside the sink awaiting washing up, or beside the kettle ready for the next coffee. It has no other life or location.

    But it's gone.

I've searched all sorts of odd places (in case I've got dementia) .... it's nowhere.

It's been missing now since yesterday evening.

EDIT: And having typed that I had a new idea .... and I found the mug :)
My coffee had gone cold, so I'd obviously put it into the microwave to reheat it and forgotten to get it out again.

Doh. That's not dementia is it, that's just forgetfulness.
