Caron, I really sympathise with your Dad, in fact I think I'm in sync with him:(:(

Head down loo 1 am this morning, the rest is not for polite company

Upshot was contact my DD to cancel today's outing, it was going to be Bletchley Park, but that would have meant facing services / toilet free M25 & M1. Not a good idea in my present condition:(

So nil by mouth, and although not wanting food, due to now canceled outings, I have not pre planned for any this weekend. I expect I'll survive
Poor you Farway :(, my Dad is feeling a bit more like it this morning though not straying from the house, hopefully you'll perk up soon as well x

Well done money , is there a petite range you could try for dresses?

Have certainly come to the conclusion I need to be looking at petite ranges whenever they exist. Unfortunately - having picked out the brands in "my tastes" and they just seem to have one range and that's it. Cue for a lot of hem taking-up I can see......

I suspect the brands I've chosen to keep a specific eye on basically have women in the 30-50 type age range in mind. I obviously can't pick "youthful" ranges of clothes (so no jeans with slits across the knees and the plunging necklines I used to wear are out for instance). I doubt many (if any) women have shrunk by 50.

I've had my height measured - and I've gone from just about okay height (I was alright with being about 5'4" back in the 1970s/80s - ie shorter average height era than nowadays) to about 5'1":(. I've a feeling I may be investigating wedge heel type shoes and the like - rather than one type of flattie or another...doesnt matter here so much (ie shorter average height - so my current height is quite normal) - but..boy...do I notice how short I am when near holidaymakers/2nd homers or when I go for visits back to my home area.!

Anyone thinking I'm going for another trip to Amsterdam again (nice city:)) will give me palpitations - as the Dutch younger people absolutely towered over me last time I went:rotfl:. Real "is it cold up there?" territory on my part... (or "Are you sure you're not sitting down?" territory on their part I guess).

Back to food and lunch was just cba again. So a pear and then avocado and tomato toast.

Brambling - On Pinterest and YouTube, for instance, there are lots of clips of "yoga for weight loss

Am currently focusing on walking to get that "glued in" to my routine before investigating further on either of those....

Thanks Money I'll have a look when I have a couple of hours as both suck me in and I lose track of time usually ending up completely off topic :) I know all the theories on losing weight I just have to put them back into practice:rotfl: I'm going to start walking more again, as I'm built for comfort not for speed I don't intend to do anything rash like jogging :rotfl: I have low blood pressure but my family history re heart and strokes is carp, so time to action now

With regards to clothes at 5.3 and 1/2 (that half is very important!) i find most skirts and dresses are ankle length or lower. What I find annoying is you can go into a shop and find the skirt or trousers you like then then have to try on all the same ones in your size to find the one that fits best  in fact I had a shop assistant tell me to do that to get the correct length in trousers.

Lunch was a YS lamb burger Iiberated from the freezer I can't think where I got the idea of burgers from :rotfl:
I've taken some steak out for tea and I think I may steal Caronc's idea of pepper sauce.

Faraway - hope your stomach has settled

Being petite, I gave up on clothes years ago. You can't even find them in charity shops, so I just end up buying cheap/charity shop clothes that "drown me" and give an "Air du Bag Lady" :)

Unless you've buckets of money it's nigh on impossible to find petite clothes, especially if you're also top heavy ... it's all just too hard, too awkward ... so bugg4h it. Nobody's looking at me!

    :)

I scoffed my big yorkie and beans and went for a walk of about 3 miles, but was given a choccy egg ... so have already scoffed the little enclosed bags :)

    Good evening everyone,
Another "shortie" here also at 5ft 3.5 inches tall and yes that 0.5 inch is important.:D I have short legs and a long body/arms for my height so struggle with trousers some "short" are too long but need a regular size in tops and dresses. Thankfully most of the time I'm not out and about so dress for comfort these days. I'm used to looking up at folk as all my family are tall and my ex is 6ft 5inches..... ( I take after my paternal grandfather who was only 5ft 3inches at his tallest:cool:)

The dry weather didn't last long it's been pouring for the last few hours but I managed to get what I wanted done outside before the rain arrived. However, Mr Meniere's is less than impressed with all the bending so I'll need to watch what I'm doing for a few days!

After a post-lunch snooze I sowed the remaining tomato seeds, cucumbers, courgettes and planted trays of broad, runner and french beans and also peas so fingers crossed some grow:).

The stovies made yesterday yielded 2 portions so one has been frozen and the other smaller one was lunch. I've also chopped some lurking leeks, parsley, chives and dill for the freezer as I'm not going to use them before they go manky. My post-Easter fridge is beginning to look a lot less chaotic now!

A steak and a glass of wine beckons in a bit while I catch up on Masterchef:).

I'm only 5'2" or 3 depending on who measures me! With ze big boobies , as they used to say on allo allo! I think I'm in proportion apart from that, legs fit in regular length trousers, not much bottom, usually buy size 10, occasionally a 12 top if it has buttons! I have a narrow back and shoulders.
I've eaten the lo pasta, and added some olives and sun blush tomato along with parmesan and basil. I need something sweet now so I'm going to warm a gf blueberry muffin with cream poured over.
Hope everyone is feeling better soon. A good weekend to all.

Statistically, are those "left alone" or "on the shelf" .... more likely to be short? Are shorties unwanted? :)

I wouldnt think so Pastures - ie being "left on the shelf" unwanted as a shortie. As a woman - that's never been a problem and I think the tall boyfriends I often had used to feel protective to little me:rotfl:. They'd, presumably, feel even more protective at 5'1":(, than the approx 5'4" I used to be:rotfl:

I guess it's the Celtic gene in me (thanks mother:cool:) that's responsible for that - as the Celts seem to be short.

The only thing that would have struck me is I'd have had problems back in my Dating Days if I'd lived in this area (with the average distinctly short height here) - with my preference for tall boyfriends (I blame my tall father for that - courtesy of having him for a father then men are "obviously" tall and intelligent in my book, as that got "imprinted" on me at birth:rotfl:). There was only a couple of my boyfriends underneath around 5'8" I should think. Logic since says there aren't that many men that meet even one of my "imprinted criteria" - and, as for both.....

    Good morning everyone,
I can't say height has ever been a factor in my dating/relationship history:).

Dry again this morning after yesterday's rain so hopefully it will stay that way and I'll get a little more done outside.

I need to order more tomato seeds , not for me though but to send to my son's gf's Dad in Greece. Like me he loves gardening:).

I think a blt might be on the cards for lunch and tonight I'm making pork ramen, not either of these in ages so a nice change:).

I am under 4`11 now and have reached the stage of asking taller people to hand things down from shelves. I swear sainsburys have made their shelves taller.

I have been busy, house hunting and most of all researching potentials, have found many interesting `hidden` negatives that only locals know and discarded a lot of houses, got stressed though so am backing down now, will be seeing 2 on monday an hour from here and 1 tuesday, local old cottage, too open to burglers as sister points out. I need to feel safe. I will be relying on alerts after that, no more active looking

Food has been eratic, ok but bitty so I need to get back to looking after what I eat. Started with jumbo porridge, will make celery and cashew soup later and will eat a rm and veg for lunch. No veg box ordering this week, I have to catch up on myself, anyway purple sprouting is sprouting on the allotment. Fresh loaf made last night and I have goats cheese and tomatoes and peanut butter, so will make a sandwich of sorts for last meal
