    Good morning everyone,

Grey and on the cool side here but dry.

A day of small domestic catch ups planned. Yesterday I used two small pork loin steaks to make a Chinese-style pork & veg curry. LOs of that will be lunch. I've gammon steaks defrosting for dinner. We'll have them topped with BBQ sauce & cheese and served with salad and HM oven chips.

I bought some vegan brie the other day in London so I just had the last on some crackers with a bowl of watermelon. I had an iced Matcha too.

I actually kept waking up feeling cold last night! It is still fairly warm outside, though.

I have broccoli, carrots and cavolo nero so I'm going to steam them and have them with baby potatoes and a vegan burger later. I might have gravy too. I think that will be dinner, I'm not sure about lunch yet.

Mixed sun & clouds, pleasant temperature

Just been given some sourdough starter so looks like I have some reading / YT watching to do for next week.

lunch, Asda cheapo mince beef pie, which arrived as a sub for a pasty. I'd prefer the pasty.

Dinner, divi up the on offer salmon fillet, four portions I think. freeze three and pan fry one portion for dinner. With AF chips & salad

A very lazy start although I did put a wash load through and did some washing up and pottered at putting things away.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel for lunch. Walked to the library after that to swap books over.

Grocery shop and meet up for a cuppa with some of the family this afternoon. Slight cheat tea of lightly dusted basa, oven chips and tinned mushy peas (I bought lots of healthy food too 😅)

    Good morning everyone,

Good luck with the sourdough Farway

I'm enjoying the revamped format of Celebrity Masterchef JKS

Grey and cool but dry here. If the rain stays away we'll rotisserie a chook later otherwise it will bunged in the oven. Started clearing out a narrow cupboard that is crammed with gift bags, wrapping stuff and stationery bits and will do a bit more today. I'm being ruthless……

I've defrosted a small vac pack of smoked salmon to have with cream cheese on a bagel for lunch. Soup and chicken for dinner tonight. The soup will be based on a tub of Spanish style veg and a one of butterbean stew both from the freezer with more veg/beans added if needed.

I’ve had a lovely couple of days away enjoying someone else’s cooking, even brought home some of their hm cheese scones which I had for lunch with the last of my neighbours sweet toms.

I’ve got some beef mince defrosting to make a bolognese sauce but doubt it will be ready for dinner tonight so there’s always fish fingers and chips as a back up.

I forgot to post yesterday, it was just a Petworth day.

I visited EF this afternoon I'm in the dog house for not going earlier in the week, even though i couldn't!. I took her out for a cuppa and a Waitrose shop for some bits which turned out two bags worth, that will confuse My Waitrose card algorithms. When questioned about a large number of boxes of tissues in her room she confessed to ordered two boxes from Amazon and two boxes of 12 arrived 🫣 i don't want to take away the last bit of independence she has so we had another discussion on not clicking on buy now but checking what's in the basket, I'm trying to persuade her to let me lower her CC limit rather than making that decision as her LPA to keep her independent but avoiding instances of internet shopping, I think there are cards you can load money onto which aren't CCs .

I'm also enjoying master chefs new format and I'm catching up on my guilty pleasure of Australian master chef

    Beans on toast for lunch.

We were given free sandwiches in Waitrose cafe as it was the end of the day, four individual filled triangles in a pack, I brought mind home for dinner and had a G&T!
