Brambling my cat does that, as if to say how dare you touch that tablet when my fur needs stroking!!!
My cat has had breakfast and gone out, he was in last night because of the rain, but very restless, he normally goes out all night, and starts wandering round causing trouble if he doesn't go!!:rotfl:
I wouldn't have minded but as soon as I put my tablet down he got off and washed. He's a 'new for me cat' so has been shut in for a month as recommended by Cat Protection, we are both going a little stir crazy, I just need to brave letting him out and I hate that part the first few times, he's not food orientated so I can't bribe him in with chicken or tuna.Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
I have the same problem when next door's cat decides to visit, he doesn't really like it if I'm not giving him my full attention and is a dab hand at jumping up and disrupting whatever I'm doing:rotfl::rotfl:
CFO has resumed in the caronc household!
Most of the leftovers have been consumed but I need to go through the fridge and see what might be needing either used up, frozen or ditched. I do know there is just enough gravlax left for me to have in a bagel for lunch:D. I also think there are chicken thighs LO from dinner on Saturday so I think dinner will revolve around those.
The weather is lousy so I'm happy to have a quiet day pottering and putting the house back in order. There is also a mountain of laundry to do.....0 -
Lunch today was pie
with mashed spuds and carrots and swede and peas and gravy

Breakfast normal, pot of tea, porridge, banana, HM yoghurt and thankfully the very last drop of Fake Maple Syrup. When at my daughter's on Sunday I noticed she used the real stuff on the pud. Far wiser than her Dad, to be fair another example of me not reading the small print when venturing into unknown waters
Mooching around shops, solved my "what's for dinner"? Problem. YS pre-packed mushroom stir fry veggies, they will go well with my LO roast pork, and my BBE Jan 2015 nukeable rice. I thought i had some sweet & sour sauce lurking, but I must have binned it as too old even for me
Spotted Spam on offer, impulse bought, now I can indulge, I have been fancying Spam for a while now
I've also been fancying a pork pie [PP], and found a YS one in C0stcutter on the way home, job done
Lunch was half the PP with last of my posh Christmas piccalilli. Followed by slice of HM carrot cake
Despite being a using up day my fridge is still bursting, mainly with the Easter offer root veggies, they'll keep for a while so no rushEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -

I think I've learnt to limit myself to just one .... else it's all just too much
I do plan, if I remember, to get a bag of spuds tomorrow at 4ldi as it's the final 29p/2.5Kg day I think.0 -
Good evening everyone,
The house seems so quiet and empty after the buzz of the past few days......
In between kitchen tidying, laundry and having a long nap this afternoon it has been a bit of a spendy day so that's my gardening budget for 2018 almost used up though I think I just need compost now. I've treated myself to a garden trolley so see if that helps me manage to do more outside this year and also have ordered new seed trays etc. as I had to ditched loads last year that had cracked etc. Still I'm not one for spending much on me so I don't mind and the garden gives me so much pleasure.:) A tray of pansies was delivered late this afternoon so raining or not tomorrow I'll need to get these potted on. I also need to get tomatoes and cucumber seeds planted this week.
Lunch was a total use up of gravlax, a lurking bagel and a couple of spoonfuls of LO orzo salad. The only remaining Easter LOs needing used up or frozen today/tomorrow are a creme brulee, 2 tuile biscuits, double cream, 1/2 bag of spinach, cooked chicken thighs, a slice of lorne, various soft herbs, some chopped fruit and some HM mayo so not too hard to deal with:D. There is quite a bit of veg in the drawer but it will keep for a while.
Tonight I'm going to have a cooked chicken thigh, a baked spud and creamed spinach & peas and if I have room the creme brulee might disappear:). Tomorrow needs to be menu planning day to get me back on track. My son & his gf brought me a big bag of cooking goodies they had bought in Greece and also some bits from Waitrose which has opened near them so no excuse not to get my cooking mojo hat back on. My son's gf made me smile on Sunday when she said that she thought it was only her family that was totally obsessed with cooking & food and she is so happy that my son's family all are too:D.0 -
Back to normal now, mentally as well as food. Had a busy few days but it made my mind busy too and stopped me sleeping. All to do with houses and I am going back to fateland, what will be will be
Cheese on toast for breakfast, stewed apple, nuts, hemp, berries and yogurt with my one coffee, later. Lunch will be fish and various veg, will probably also also make stir fried kale/courgette/garlic/aminos, my tum likes this and I get to use 3 cloves at a time. Frying garlic first makes it mellow
AnC are due this morning, so I get to sort my veg drawers too, a good discipline. I still have a whole celeriac and some raw beetroot but they keep quite a while. I should try and get arris into gear to make a veg juice, food has been a bit scrappy for two days. I miss the juices when I don`t have them. Much prefer them to everlasting leek and potato soup, still have one portion left so will have to have that as a mid morn snack. Won`t make it again, was too starchy with the potatoes, I generally don`t eat potatoes
Yay, I have a gorgeous treat ahead for today and a few days more, small bottle of fantastic guernsey cream is arriving today and I have fluffy hm fruit scones in the freezer and an opened bottle of perfect plum jam, hm 7 years ago but I always preserve jam perfectly and keep cool and dark.0 -
Kittie - re busy mind syndrome and I find it helps to have a notebook and biro by the bed (along with the bedside light I have anyway). That way I don't have to think "That's a useful thought - must remember that in the morning" (which I may or may not do:cool:). I can write it down and it's out of my mind.
Guess that's a sign the house is finished now and I've pretty much done the "finishing tweaks" (all that sorta "most logical place to put things" etc type stuff) - ie that I've now removed the notepad and biro from my bedside. You can tell the signs of someone who has been reading articles about "time and motion" looking round how I've organised my house LOL.
The notepad/biro also came in handy back when I was doing two jobs at once - one paid and the other (the more activist type stuff) unpaid.
Off out today to check out something I intend to buy - hope it will be there! Got in mind to have lunch out maybe at a place that's changed hands since I was last there....0 -
Good morning everyone,
Another one here with a notepad/pencil on my bedside table to counter "busy brain" at night:)
Woke up around 6am to the sound of the rain battering off of the conservatory, don't think it has stopped since so it was a good excuse to make a cuppa and snuggle back in bed with my book for a couple of hours;). If it stays like this I don't think my pansies will be getting potted on.
At the moment I'm lacking inspiration over what to make for dinner tonight I'll have a think once I'm showered & dressed and take it from there....0 -
Dentist later today, so I had pie/chips early as I won't be eating later. It's a full drilling out of an old filling, new filling and tooth build up, so that'll be plenty of injections *shudders*. I HATE those!0
