Nice day yesterday with the family all over at DDs.

Back to normal now, raining, with pot of tea, porridge, sliced banana, HM yoghurt & FMS for breakfast

I've decide today is a full on CBA day, eating LO roast pork, in sandwiches, with spicy apple chutney

May even binge watch something or other if I can decide what. I find despite a million choices that 99% are rubbish. I'd start on House of Cards, but now I know KS has been dumped and it will just fizzle out it seems pointless even starting

I've been busy doing housework and organising this morning as I got up early as my husband had to go to work.

He just called and said he is being sent home early so I think I will sit down and watch something with him when he gets in. I did watch a bit of the Lady Gaga documentary this morning on Netflix. There is a scary documentary on there called Killer Legends. I read about it a few years ago and it is meant to be really creepy. We are going to cancel Netflix as we had a month free trial, but I don't think it's really worth the money if we have to pay for it.:p

I've had blueberries, banana and a yoghurt today and also a mug of HM soup with a GF roll.

I actually feel really hungry now as I woke up about 4.30. I might have oven hash browns and baked beans for lunch as I can't be bothered to cook anything. I just feel like relaxing now. Miserable rainy weather out there too!

I was fed yesterday, unexpected/late invite ... and it was a little roast dinner style affair.... with lovely afters :)

I've just popped to L1dl to get sausage rolls .... and I wandered past the little bit where they have the reduced items and, bizarrely, there it was .... a family sized Mince/Onion Pie :) Down to £1.40. So I put the sausage rolls back (can't have them both!) and bought the pie. I usually cut those into 1/4s, although the box suggests it serves 3, but as I've not had pie for awhile I went with 1/3rds.

Now cooking the final 3 spuds from the last bag and 3 carrots from the 1Kg I bought last week .... I'll toss some peas onto the plate and make a quick gravy.

    Nom :)

    I'll be eating about 2ish.

    Pie again tomorrow too .....

EDIT: When I was reaching for the peas I spotted a small bag of cabbage I'd cooked/frozen the other week, so it'll be Savoy instead of peas.

EDIT 2: Cooked/served quicker than I thought, already half way through eating it all .... and the pie is gorgeous :)

    Good afternoon everyone,
My it's wild and wet here as well as being baltic what a contrast to yesterday which was lovely.
Easter Sunday get together went really well and after we had all eaten our fill we watched a couple of films so nice and relaxing. My first attempt at making gravlax was a success thanks to a team effort and my son's expert wielding of a sharp knife:).
My younger son has headed back and elder son and his gf are out just now so I'm having a quiet online catch up:). Elder son & his gf are off back to Wales tomorrow and CFO will resume for a few days until younger son returns on Friday:). I've really enjoyed having the kids home so I'm not particularly looking forward to being back to an empty house.:(
We didn't half shift some amount of food yesterday so there's manageable amounts of LOs most of which will be used up for dinner tonight:D.
  • Change of plans for dinner tonight - as I changed plans re what to use for a hair mask.

So - hair mask was linseed, olive oil and almond milk then. Still got it on currently - as recipe said to leave it on for up to 2 hours:rotfl:.

That then left me with all the boiled-up linseeds I'd used to make the "gloopy" part of the mix from. So I decided to have a go at "waste not, want not" and have now mixed them up with ground flaxseeds, soya sauce, maple syrup, onion salt, garlic salt and got them drying in my dehydrator. My first attempt at raw flaxseed crackers. Time will tell what I make of them....

So dinner turned into a bowl of yogurt, fruit and nuts. Followed by toast in the event.

Quiet and very wet today, a friend and her daughter popped round this morning not to see me but the cat, I know my place :rotfl:

I'm sitting here worrying as I listen to water landing rather heavily on the flat roof of my extension I'm hoping it's just a blocked gutter and nothing else. I had new guttering fitted 18 months ago and they've been back once to sort out problems. Too be honest I don't trust them to have them back again. I got the feeling they saw a single lady in her 50s as a easy target and I'm cross for allowing it to happen :(

Left over tuna salad for lunch and a lemony/ginger/honey/garlicky chicken dish for dinner. There are 4 chicken thighs left so that's lunch tomorrow and probably Wednesday as well. Dentist tomorrow morning so I'm working from home therefore garlicky lunch won't matter :rotfl:

Just watched the cat get slightly stoned on a catnip toy and now he's determined I put my tablet down and make a fuss. Difficult to type when cats rear end is in your face :p

I didn't fancy cereal and I'm out of GF bread so I peeled a couple of potatoes and made wedges. They are in the oven now.

I can't believe it's only 7, it feels much later. I always end up getting up very early the week my husband works the early shift.

I ended up having tinned skinless and boneless salmon, with jacket potato, the avocado mix, and salad of rocket ,plum tomatoes, sun blush tomatoes, sweet peppers and onion. I really enjoyed it followed by half the pavlova which had passion fruit and kiwi on, to which I added a few raspberries and cream.
Work today , I've had toast and I will take a gf crispy roll with ham and salad plus a yogurt corner and seeds.
Brambling my cat does that, as if to say how dare you touch that tablet when my fur needs stroking!!!
My cat has had breakfast and gone out, he was in last night because of the rain, but very restless, he normally goes out all night, and starts wandering round causing trouble if he doesn't go!!:rotfl:
