    Good morning,
We have a warning for heavy rain and thunder storms from early afternoon so trying to do anything that involves going out before it arrives!
I'm trying a new burger recipe tonight Georgina Hayden’s recipe for red curry chicken and courgette burgers | Food | The Guardian I'll make them this afternoon so they've got plenty of time to firm up before cooking as I think they could be quite fragile. We'll have them with salad and a few HM wedges.
I roasted a couple chicken legs last night so plenty LO for lunch.

It rained during the night which made it feel much cooler and there are thunderstorms predicted here too. I need to pop out to the shop so I might go now!

I had a pineapple and banana smoothie and then toast with Flora and Marmite.

    I hope Brambling is okay.

We've had rain here too but no sign of forecasted thunderstorms.... Yet!

Those burgers sound nice Caronc, I like the idea of putting courgette in, I imagine it would help keep the chicken moist.

I've had a frittata for lunch using bacon, onion, asparagus and sweetcorn. tonight I'll try out this recipe JKS' posted a couple of weeks ago.

I saw that burger recipe too, looks good.

Hope you enjoy the courgette and halloumi N2BT.

Gosh, it has rained here today! Made it out to do a food shop early evening when it finally eased up.

I’d roasted half a courgette and the end of a yellow pepper while the oven was on yesterday so had them with harissa couscous and fried halloumi for lunch. Made sausage and broccoli gnocchi tonight, a new recipe with honey and white wine, was ok but not as good as my usual one with spinach and stock.

Rained again overnight, which is good for my parched garden. Bit dull & windy right now but maybe brighten later they say.

I did manage to pick some of my blackberries yesterday once rain stopped, B & A crumble duly made, which should at least a couple of days
Undecided about custard or ice cream?

    Lunch, LO roast chicken sandwich
Dinner, LO cold roast chicken + nuked LO mash, or maybe AF chips if still dull & bleak weather

    Good morning everyone,
The burgers were really good, although the recipe didn't say to do so I gave the grated courgette a good squeeze to remove some of their water. I'm glad I did as it was still a very soft mix. I wasn't sure if the would hold but did firm up nicely after being chilled. I made the full amount and have frozen half the uncooked mix. Half the mix made two large burgers and could easily have made three smaller ones. That said with the courgette in the mix they weren't heavy and it didn't feel like a complete meat fest.
Still wet and thundery here, my balance isn't a very happy bunny with the erratic weather pressure so a quiet day planned. Pork steaks with new potatoes, various veg and peppercorn or chimichurri or pistou sauce for dinner. Cottage cheese and tomato on toast for lunch.

It was raining quite heavily this morning and very grey and gloomy here too, its dried up now and pleasantly warm but the sun hasn't managed to break through yet.

I really did enjoy the halloumi & courgette dish JKS, I only used half a block of halloumi, 1 ordinary courgette and some strips of yellow pepper but made the full amount of dressing and there's leftover for lunch today B) . The dressing is brilliant and after lunch there should be enough left to dress the salad I'm having with my burger tonight

Haven't made these in such a long time and wouldn't imagine they cost 17p any more but I do like the taste of them Carrot, Cumin & Kidney Bean Burger, 17p – WAS 9P [VG/V/DF] – COOKING ON A BOOTSTRAP I won't have a bun but salad and AF chips to go with it.

Glad you enjoyed it, I used an ordinary courgette too. The dressing is so good, might make it to have with other things. You’ve reminded me about those burgers, which have been on my to make list for ages, just need a carrot…

Lunch out today (just a toastie after swimming) but put Chinese pork shoulder slices to marinade this morning so one of those with stir fried veg and noodles tonight 😋

Hi guys I've been home since Friday afternoon, hobbling around with my sister acting as personal chef, dish washer and carer.  Just a shame that I'm not that hungry to enjoy it I think it's the pain meds.  His lordship is sulking because he's banished to downstairs, he likes to go up the stairs the same time as me which isn't a good idea!
