I envy your 16c N2BT it hit 30c here at least it got three loads of washing dried even if I missed the rain storm at 3pm and it got rained on for nearly a hour. I managed to wash my heavy hoodies so they can go way for winter.
i was due to go to Petworth today but they emailed to say the buggy from the carpark had died, the hip isn't up to walking nearly a km standing all day then walking the km back especially in this heat. Luckily I check my emails whilst eating breakfast, I don't always remember.
Today's drama was an exploding water melon 🫣 I forgot to put it in the fridge before going out yesterday and left it on the dining room table. I came down this morning to a lot of liquid on the floor, running from the dining room into the lounge, I was slightly perplexed as to where it was from until I saw the guilty culprit. There was so much mess for a small water melon, fortunately the mess didn't reach the sewing machine further down the table but did drip into a canvas bag full of plastic containers waiting for me to sort. Washing the floor and the table hadn't been on my to do list today. So sticky, at least not going to Petworth meant a second better wash than my quick mop.
i was out in the rain to Sainsbury's for milk and fruit and it was so muggy, I did pick up a very cheap YS chicken, looks like no one wanting roast this weekend 😁 dated tomorrow to I'll cook it then but won't have a roast. Octopus are offering a free hour electricity tomorrow so I'll cook most of it then as well as wash my sheets and anything else that I can think of.
Tuna mayo salad for lunch. Burger and chips for dinner before going to watch The Salt Path with my sister in a air conditioned cinema 😁

The house feels really hot even though I left windows open last night. I ordered a neck fan from Amazonas someone in my class told me how good they are.
I'm about to have breakfast, maybe baked beans on toast, although that might be too hot to eat in this weather. Maybe toast with jam instead.0 -
More heat & sun, my restless nights are catching up to me, I'm feeling worn out alreadyLucky you with rain Brambling, just a few spots here, guess I was on the edge of your clouds, so the need for me to keep watering continues.Lunch, another salad sarnieDinner, use up last of some bangers & LO mash, mus too hot to spend long in kitchenEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

A portion of carrot & coriander soup for lunch.

Thankfully much cooler today and it has rained quite a bit this evening. Did kitchen surfaces and floor this morning then off to the tip and to do a small grocery shop. Then swimming before lunch of scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toasted bagel.
Had a nice afternoon watching the tennis and then made harissa pork steak with lemon, garlic and feta new potatoes and mange tout 😋0 -

A little cooler here today, I wouldn't mind if it dropped a bit more 🙂
I used my free hour of electricity to wash my bedding and cook a chicken, plus a few days worth of veg. By the time the hour was nearly up I was hot and sweaty enough to grab a quick shower and hair wash within the time 🙂🥵
I took some of the chicken and stuffing around to my sister and helped to babysit her granddaughter for a couple of hours.

Warming up again today, but cloudy and feeling very sticky.
I treated myself to a turntable and after being packed away for about 18 years I thoroughly enjoyed dusting off and listening to some of my 70's & 80's LP's over the weekend and as if that didn't make me wonder where the years had gone I received a letter from the DWP inviting me to get my state pensionso I need to do some thinking whether to go for it or defer it a while longer - decisions, decisions.
Easy decisions first - lunch is salad with tuna and a hardboiled egg. Tonight its a rice pilaf with some gammon scraps I found in the freezer, celery, spring onions, mixed peppers and mushrooms.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Overcast and damp here this morning, did brighten up but very breezy, was glad of my sweatshirt when I went out for a walk this evening. The working day flew by, which is good and bad 😉
Houmous, pitta, olives, cucumber and carrot sticks for lunch. Made a batch of fajita seasoning tonight and then made chicken fajitas with added lettuce and avocado. LO fajita chicken, peppers and onions to turn into something tomorrow.0
