I have a concert in London tonight and I'm dreading the heat. The C2C trains around here have air conditioning at least.

I ordered a takeaway from the local Indian last night and I just had the leftovers for breakfast!😀

    Good afternoon,
Dry but grey and not hugely warm.
In a bit of a blow DS2's car is in the garage. He's got a courtesy car but it's not an estate so I'm having to rationalise what we are taking away. Unfortunately my wheels etc. take up a fair bit of room but we are close to shops so it will all be fine. Once the car is fixed DS2 is going to sell it, this is the second time this fault has occurred and the car isn't yet three years old and would seem to be a commonish problem with Audi cars!
I'd made a vat of chilli so a tub has been popped in the freezer for future meals. There bits and bobs of the sides left which we'll use up today. Piri piri chicken tonight with rice and veg/salad.

Cloudier and slightly cooler than yesterday but its a comfortable temp for me.

Shame about DS2's car Caronc, smart packing required and hope for fine weather.

You are a braver soul than me Wednesday, leftover cold pizza yes but doubt if I could cope with indian takeaway leftovers first thing  :D

For lunch I had leftover dhal, poppadum and chutney. Tonight its roast monkfish wrapped in parma ham, new potatoes and green beans.

Hope you are feeling tiptop for your appointment tomorrow Brambling.

I'm guessing it's better the car had problems before you left Caronc you'll be giving your son a challenge to pack the car 😁

I had a really bad night sleep again and saw the sun come up without having been asleep, his lordship gave me a lay in and didn't wake me until just before 9am. I did doze lunchtime but managed to get moving before sleeping too much

Nationwide £100 arrived in my bank account today 😁

Grated Cheese and carrot sandwich for lunch.

Dinner was lamb mince cooked with spices, spring onions and peppers served on a flat bread with crumble feta

Hot & sunny after another restless night with the heat & hay fever. Saw the moon once & beat the sun in getting up.
Expect I'll be nodding off watching tele later  :)

Another one £100 richer this morning, that plus the Winter fuel coming back, wallowing in money until the Asda delivery arrives :s

Bummer with DS car Caron, hope it all fits in replacement.

    Lunch, sausage sarnie.
I've bought a liner for the Air Fryer, spotted the coating was coming off and don't fancy that in my food, so a liner may be the answer.
At least I've got free £100 if needing a replacement AF

Dinner, more salad, ideal weather. Not sure what with, maybe a jacket spud if I can find a large one in the delivery.

    Good morning everyone,
Yes much better that DS2's car developed the fault before we left. We are self catering and as a family we love cooking so usually take a fair number of ingredients and kit with us. The kind of bits you don't want to buy a full tub of or that holiday kitchens tend not to have kit wise. DS2 and I usually take charge of bringing this stuff so yesterday I spent fair bit of time delegating different bits to the other two cars. We are hoping everything will now fit okay in DS2's courtesy car, it's not tiny by any means but the boot is a good bit smaller.
Brambling hope your preop goes okay.
Tesco due later with basic bits to take away really just to cover us until Saturday and we can check out local options. It's my sister's turn to take the Friday night lasagne this time.
Today is a use up day food wise. LOs and fridge bits for lunch. Sausages, random veg and potatoes for dinner.
    See you next week.

Another lovely day although temp did drop quite a bit overnight.

Hopped a bus to go and get some bread rolls, cold meat, fruit & veg from @ldi, but first there are a few of the "last" bits and pieces to use up.

Lunch was a roll with salami and cheese, last of the grapes.

Tonight I'll use up the last of the filled pasta in the freezer with the last of a jar of pesto.

I was actually chilly in the hotel in London this morning and it was a shock when I walked outside. So hot. I have had strawberries and cherries and then mashed avocado on fresh bread when we got home. I'm going to have a mock chicken burger with fries done in the air fryer with a salad for dinner.

Another bad night sleep for me too darn hot!

I had two hours of volunteering training this morning 30 people in a smallish room this heat didn't help me stay awake plus limited hearing still.

i had time for a second shower and grabbed a quick lunch before driving to the hospital which took about a hour today.  I was early and they were happy to see me as I was the last patient and they could go home 🙂 and I got back home just after 5.10 so missed the worst of the evening traffic.

Toasted bagel with cream cheese and salad for lunch

An easy early dinner of a Aldi filled pasta (don't think I'll buy again) with a salsa verde try sauce over the top
