Good morning everyone,
And the rain came tumbling down! It's pouring and we have a weather warning for thunder storms. I'm expecting a soaked sister to arrive here any minute.
Admin to do again today and apart from routine chores and cooking dinner that's about the extent of my plans.
Last night I cooked a chicken thigh fillet and some cubed potatoes in the AF. Had those with various steamed veg. Ate the lot so fridge bits for lunch. Chicken fajitas for dinner tonight with salsa type salad, mashed avocado, sour cream and cheese.0 -
Chucking it down here too and set to continue for the rest of the day.
I mis-judged the pasta last night so there's a good amount leftover, I'll add some extra veg to it and have it for dinner tonight.
Made some carrot and coriander soup this morning, had a portion for lunch and three for the freezer.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Like Farway a gray start and then the sun came out and it got quite warm again, I'm guessing another sleepless night
I was meant to meet my sister for lunch but she hasn't been well, the joys of working with small children! So I stayed away
Cheese on toast for lunch with pickle.
i AF a couple of chicken legs tonight and had one with bubble and squeak and pickle red cabbage. I made a bubble and squeak 'cake' and popped it in the ninja with the chicken and it worked really well

Hot & sunny again, with a cooling breeze thankfullySudden panic yesterday when I realised I'd forgotten to complete my Asda order. I could leave it a few days but prefer to get it done & dusted a few days ahead of delivery.Picked a few sticks of forbidden rhubarb, young plants, just for a taster really, and made some flapjacks which is a first for meBoth items turned out wellLunch, change of plan, the lettuce I had turned into compost slush
So, it's sausage sarnie
Dinner, also lettuce changed plan, was to be with saladGrilled gammon steak, fry up LO mash, sort of Bubble & S, without the squeak, and fried eggsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good morning everyone,
Still tipping it down here which is a shame as it's the local gala day.
With weather being so dire yesterday I just got my head down and made a good dent in the admin. I think today will be a rinse and repeat.
CFO and pooch sitting later, the boys are having dinner with their Dad and Frank is coming here for a few days.
Turkish eggs for lunch with LO salad. I've a couple of chicken thighs defrosting for dinner.0 -
Very happy to see some dolphins in the bay this morning, there have been a few sightings posted on local facebook but today is the first time I've seen them since last year.
Lunch was picky bits to use up, crusty bread, cheese spread, grapes and watermelon.
Had a couple of bananas to use up too so made a loaf and whilst the oven was on made a broccoli and stilton quiche for tonight.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

How lovely to see dolphins N2BT 🙂
another nice day and looks like a warm week until it's forecast to reach 30c next weekend
I popped around to my sisters this afternoon she was looking after little one and my present had been requested 🙂 her mum and dad had picked strawberries at the pick your own farm so a nice bowl of meringue nest, strawberries and thick cream 😋 Little one didn't want me to leave until her uncle arrived just as I was going and suddenly I was dismissed 😁 she is going to have her nose put out of joint in October with a baby on the way, she has cousins on mums side but is centre of attention at grandmas.
Chicken legs tonight and cooked yesterday with salad for lunch. Salmon, rice and veg for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Slept really late this morning so the day seems to have disappeared 😂
Warm but breezy again here so a load of bedding dried quickly on the line. As well as changing bedding, I’ve dusted and hoovered my bedroom and done kitchen and bathroom floors plus shined the kitchen sink 😇. Then went for a wander round an artisan market and out for tea and cake this afternoon.
Houmous, pitta, olives, cucumber and carrot sticks for lunch. Harissa aubergine and halloumi bake with couscous tonight.0 -
Warm with some sun, like Brambling it's supposed to get warmer all this week, so more sleepless nights like last night thenInternet problems today, keeps dropping out, annoying but not critical now shopping ordered & banking updatedLunch, sausages out defrosting, for sausage sandwichDinner, LO roasted quarter chicken defrosting. Good morning everyone,
Not quite as wet today though it's still pretty grey and quite a bit cooler.
I've pretty much done all the admin that needed doing before I go away, so hopefully can concentrate on getting organised. At least this year we are not in the middle no where so don't need to take quite so much stuff!
I roasted two chicken thighs yesterday, one I had for dinner and the other will be had for lunch. JO's sweet and sour pork with rice and veg for dinner.0
