Good morning everyone,
Another lovely day here,
Yesterday I shelved the pasta bake planned for dinner and we made the most of the sunshine and had a bbq. DS2 nipped to the SM and bought some ready to cook to bits and I put together, mixed salad, coleslaw and potato salad. The base I had already cooked for the pasta bake has been bagged and frozen. It was lovely in the garden until half way through our meal when a swarm of very bitey midges descended and bit DS2 and I to bits but pretty much ignored my sister! Citronella candles made absolutely no difference so we had quickly shift inside. I'm still covered in red, itchy bumps this morning despite lathering on the antihistamine! I do hope it's not going to be a really midgey summer.
LO bbq bits for lunch and tonight I'm making JO's bacon, pea and mint pasta.0 -
Those little blighters seem to like me too Caronc, I remember visiting a friend in Skye and out for an evening walk we were plagued by them, thankfully they are less prevalent on the East coast.
Another sunny good drying day so I decided to hand wash a couple of jackets I wear regularly and get them drip drying on the line.

Remember Avon Skin-so-Soft is used by military people as well to keep midges away. It works here to keep fleas away.1

I saw lots of midges the other day when I sat on a bench in some gardens and I immediately moved away. I feel totally wiped out from my physical therapy today and it was very hot here too on the walk there and back. I had a toastie and fruit for breakfast, soup for lunch and then a veg burger, fries, salad and pickles for dinner.0

You obviously taste better than your sister Caronc 😁 I have the same problem I get bitten all over and they ignore my sister. I also can tell if anyone's pet has visitors as I always get really bitten 🤷♀️
I had a planned telephone call from the hospital this morning and was given a time of between 8.30 - 12.30 they called about 11am but not a lot done this morning.

Good morning everyone,
Although the West Coast of Scotland is notorious for it's savage midges being literally a 2 minutes from the sea means they tend to stay away. Even without the biting the density of the swarm that descended was really quite off putting. I've just got a couple of itchy bites left now. Yes the Avon stuff can be effective but we were very much taken by surprise. They were still really bad all over town yesterday evening. DS2 was grateful that my sis had taken Hector to the beach with Ari in the morning so he only needed a quick walk yesterday evening.
Weather has changed today and it's looks as though it could pour any minute though the forecast isn't for rain until later. Once I've finished my cuppa I'll get the bib run and outdoor jobs done while it's dry.
Fridge bit for lunch. I've a voluntary work online meeting this evening so I've taken a tub of lentil, chickpea and spinach curry out of the freezer for dinner.0
