Farway kindly shared his rain across the border, which TBH isn't unusual ☔️
I dropped in to Leonardslee to pick up my new car parking sticker for the car not surprising it was very quiet i was told 47 visitors yesterday and looked like there would be less today. They have a couple of evening events planned and it's not forecasted as dry weather which will be a shame. Did a couple of errands when I was in that direction
Home via Aldi for a change just need some fresh stuff including lunch for the next couple of days volunteering.Picked up some YS (ok orange🙂) muffins and toasted one for lunch with some scrambled eggs for a late lunch,
change of plan for dinner as my chicken thighs hadn't defrosted so I made a quick tomato and vegetable sauce for pastaLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
We had rain overnight but expecting thundery showers throughout the day so I went out early to get fish, prawns and eggs from the fishmonger, then on to the baker for a small granary loaf.
Hard-boiling the last egg from the previous batch for a egg salad sandwich for my lunch.
For tonight I have a piece of smoked haddock which I'll have with jersey royals, peas and green beans.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

It is raining again and I have to go out for an appointment. I have a bowl of fruit salad left in the fridge and I'm having a cup of lemon and ginger tea. I think I have run out of bread so it might have to be museli.1

Good morning everyone,
Another showery day here.
A tbc day food wise, probably soup from the freezer for lunch and I'll see what I fancy later for dinner. A day for housework and doing a bit of prep for a family dinner tomorrow. It's DS1's birthday and toad in the hole has been requested.0 -
Sunshine and showers here today, didn’t bother with a wash load.
Out at a cultural event last night and then struggled to switch off so not enough sleep! Luckily, it was a quiet catch up day work wise.
Smoked mackerel pate and toast with cherry tomatoes for lunch (the pate was RTC in M&S a couple of weeks ago and shoved in the freezer, ok but not as good as homemade a la Delia 😉). Gnocchi with tenderstem broccoli, anchovies, chilli and garlic tonight.0 -

AF fried chicken for dinner, lovely and crunchy 😋 a lazy dinner, I brought some deli kitchen focaccia flat breads to try on offer (£1 rather than £1.65) just a minute or two in the AF and made a sandwich with mayo, lettuce and pickles. It turned out quite big so my sister stole the last third when she popped in for a cuppa and catch up. I made some red cabbage coleslaw to eat with it but decided against the chips
I would buy the focaccia again especially if on offer, they made a nice change for a sandwichLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Bright but grey and mild, thunderstorm warnings for this afternoonI may pull some rhubarbs, it's a young pant but has grown loads so a few sticks, maybe?Lunch, pate on toastDinner, heated smoked mackerel, with nuked LO mash and either peas or coleslawEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

It turned out quite warm and sunny yesterday and it stopped raining before I left. I was quite hot on the walk back. I had a blocked nose and was feeling sick so I had an early night even though I slept badly in the end!
I'm having some lucozade at the moment and might have muesli again with fresh fruit.

Good morning everyone,
I rather like the Deli Kitchen range. I have a pack of the Persian flatbreads in the bread bin to have with a chicken dish next week.
Tipping it down here and far from warm. DS1's toad in the hole request seem quite apt!
Peeled tatties for mash and sliced the onions yesterday evening. I'll pop the onions in the wee slow cooker shortly to caramelise for my gravy base.
Last night I roasted a couple of chicken legs, I had one for dinner with roast veg, DS2 snaffled a drumstick as a snack late evening and I'll have the remaining thigh with salad for lunch.
Dinner tonight will be toad in the hole, mash, carrots, savoy cabbage and onion gravy. Caterpillar cake with ice cream for pud.0
