We had a couple of thunder plumps yesterday afternoon and it started off lovely today then clouded over late morning, there is a good chance of rain this afternoon, but cant really complain after a two month dry spell.
Caught up on a few chores this morning including a tidy of the freezer and update of the inventory. So using up freezer stock for meals today.

Several local events were cancelled due to the threat of bad weather but it didn't rain here until just before 4pm. I was lucky that I got the buggy from Petworth house to the car park as the skies opened just as I closed the car door, not the nicest journey home with torrential rain most of it. Driving the windy country roads wasn't fun especially with the BMW driver trying to join me in my car, the idiot did a risky overtake just to be the car just in front of me rather than behind me for the next two miles. I had been given the car in front plenty of room as he was driving on his brakes and didn't seen happy.
After a nice day with mainly adults in the bookshop I was glad to leave after the family of 12 turned up, including 7 children (old enough to know better) who they allowed to run amok 🤬 the adults settled in for nearly a hour drinking tea and eating biscuits ignoring the kids 🙄 I have to be careful what I say but have mastered a 'librarian' glare from across the room and a loud clearing of my throat with a raised eyebrow 🤨
salmon salad for lunch followed by strawberries and a taster of expensive and very nice chocolate being offered as samples in the courtyard 😋
I was tired when I got home so dinner was a repeat of yesterday although the chicken was coldLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Good morning everyone,
Forecast is undecided but I'm hoping we can get enough dry spells to pot up at least some of the bedding plants.
Toad in the hole was demolished just some side veg, mash and gravy LO. I'll freeze the mash and have the veg and gravy for lunch.

I'm still feeling rough and quite nauseous. I had a fever last night and a cough. I just did a Covid test and it was negative. I haven't taken a Covid test in ages! I will redo the test in 48 hours just to check as I have 5 appointments to go to next week and I don't want to make anyone else ill.
All I have had it a bowl of cherries as I couldn't stomach much food. I will open one of my emergency tins of soup later if I feel better and have it with a roll with Flora.0 -
I hope you feel better in the morning Wednesday.
No need to go out today so I avoided going out as it was very gray and dull. Just a nice long telephone conversation with my eldest sister and catching up with some reading and TV.

Good morning everyone,
Hope you feel better soon Wednesday.
Raining steadily here, I'm heading to physio soon so hoping it dries up a bit and I don't get drenched.
Bedding plants, herbs and remaining toms are still to be potted up. The pots and baskets are ready but the weather hasn't being cooperating. I really want them sorted out before I go on holiday so I think it will be a nip into the garden between showers to get a few done at a time.
Tortilla burgers worked really well and I'm loving the plancha I splurged on. Really bought with the bbq in mind but worked well on the stove. No LOs so lunch will be a sandwich of some description when I get back. Tonight I'm making a lemon and dill chicken thigh tray bake which we'll have with rice, avocado/yoghurt sauce. salad and flat breads.1 -
I've heard about the new variant that seems to be spreading fast, hope you are better soon Wednesday.
A bit cloudier here today with rain forecast this afternoon so I'm taking advantage and focussing on de-cluttering, moving furniture and having a good old clean and clear out of my living room and store room.
