Weather very grey and windy here too, the tide is quite high and some spectacular waves crashing ashore.

Received my online shop, just a couple of subs which were acceptable, I've packed away almost everything there's only the butter and cheese to cut into manageable sized portions and put in the freezer.

Leftover fried rice for lunch minus the prawns, I picked them out and eat them all last night  ;)

Turkey & leek pot pie, peas & carrots tonight.

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Grey, damp and raw here.
DS2 arrived back late yesterday afternoon, he'd had a good weekend but was glad to be back. Hector was delighted see him.  <3
My sis is coming for dinner this evening. I made the base for Nana's Magic soup yesterday so I just need to get it blended and finished later. To go with it I've put together a loaf of Nigella's chilli cheese garlic bread Chilli Cheese Garlic Bread | Nigella's Recipes | Nigella Lawson (This works very well scaled down for smaller amounts too). DIL2B gave DS2 a wodge of her HM banana and date loaf when he collected his car from their's yesterday so we'll have a piece of that for pudding with ice cream if anyone wants one.

Horrible weather again here. At least I didn't get caught in the rain like I did yesterday!

I had some bread and a veggie sausage roll before I left for class. I had a berry smoothie from a cafe before I came home and I just had a snack of a few crackers.

I have lots of food in the fridge and freezer. I'm not sure what I will have for dinner yet. My cat has an appointment at the vet to get her claws clipped this afternoon.

Grey and chilly today but at least it was dry 🙂 I did a little gardening between sitting down as between my hip and deferred back pain it has become a slow process.  My white hydrangea is cut back in February so that's ticked off the list.

Boiled eggs with soldiers for lunch, still using up eggs.  I used LO mash potatoes and some cooked salmon from the freezer to make fish cakes dinner and used the last of the LO green veg.

    Good morning everyone,
Another grey and raw day here.
I'm rather hoping the extra storage boxes I ordered arrive today as I'm reasonably caught up with domestics and voluntary admin so would like to crack on decluttering/reorganising my kitchen storage. If they don't I may just indulge in some afternoon TV.
DS2 has got up today full of the cold, I'm hoping it is a) just a cold and b) he doesn't share!
My sis was very taken with Nana's Magic soup so left with a decent tubful, it does make a lot so even though we made a good dent in the panful there's plenty LO for lunch today. I'm going to have a mug of it with a egg mayo salad wrap. Easy dinner tonight of pasta with black pudding meatballs in tomato sauce. I made the tom sauce while I was prepping the soup on Monday and the meatballs are from a batch I made a few weeks ago. There's a couple of LO slices of garlic bread which will go nicely.

Another dull, grey & cold day, at least my delivery arrived OK, like N2bT, with two acceptable subs, being Asda both were upscaled at same price, so fine by me :)

Lunch, use up eggs in a sandwich
Dinner, cold LO roast beef, with newly delivered salad bits, including the very posh vine ripened cherry toms sub :)

I ordered Asda for the first time in ages and only had one substitution. I just watched a YT video comparing the Valentine's day meal specials and Asda came out on top for the food and the value for money over Waitrose, M&S, Sainsbury's and Aldi.

I felt extremely tired after the meditation class yesterday and have only got up now! I've done a lot of steps over the past week and a half.

I'm cooking for two today and I'm having a "steak" slice, potato croquettes and steamed cabbage and carrots with gravy. I will make that about 2 or 3 so I will probably just have the leftover bakery bread as toast before that.

I've had a productive morning in the kitchen, I ordered some mushrooms in my delivery and prefer to use them when they are at their best so made a mushroom curry, a pasta sauce, and the rest for tonight.

Found a old yellowing recipe sheet from the Aberdeen and District Milk Marketing Board, its probably something my mother picked up at the WI way back in the 70's :)  I'll give it a go tonight.

I've had a portion of potato soup from the freezer for lunch.
Tuna and cheese medley with a tomato and cucumber salad

I hope DS2 doesn't overshare Caronc! I do like nanas magic soup but usually half it or stock up the freezer

Another grey cold day 🥶 but at least it wasn't raining 🙂 i did do a little bit in the garden, the heating was on longer today than it has been in a while.

Cheese on toast for lunch with piccalilli, almost at the bottom of the jar.  I popped out this evening and came home via the chippie 🫣 indigestion tablets are at the ready  :#

Very repetitive weather, grey & dull again.
Half-term next week, so hope the sun comes out for them.

I use Asda because it's handy and TBH it suits me, nothing to fancy, with the occasional very good offer where I stock up, and the price you see is the price you pay, no sudden increase prior to delivery

Lunch, One of Asda Rollback offers :D , Heck 97% bangers, sarnie
Dinner, last of the LO roast beef + salad stuff
