I've woken up to a very grey and rainy day. I am craving something sweet and fizzy so I might go and buy a Purdey's drink. I quite like them.
I am making creamy mushroom soup today as I bought three cartons of oat cream before Christmas and haven't used them. I will wait until my grocery delivery arrives as then I can add fresh parsley. I will need to toast the bread baton to freshen it up.
I'm going to have a smoothie now and maybe a bowl of cereal.0 -
This morning I'll classify as Showery, rain, then sun, then rain. At least I did manage a short spell tidying the garden yesterday.I've joined the crumpets & jam club for breakfast, one of my Asda deliveries.Lunch, may as well stick to crumpets
, with cheese though
Dinner, TBD, I'll check if suitable large spud for a cheesy jacket one with salad bitsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Bright and sunny now after a wet start. Thankfully no sign of any water leaking into the kitchen, though I left a bowl and towel out overnight just in case.
Friday tidy, hoovering etc. completed so apart from sorting out my grocery delivery I don't plan on doing much this afternoon.
Thoroughly enjoyed my cheese and carrot sandwich yesterday and there's enough left for another one for lunch today. Dinner will be the usual Friday tbc.0 -
Back to grey and damp here today 🙄
Plenty of indoor jobs to be getting on with though. Popped out just before lunch to run a couple of errands and didn’t get too damp.
Houmous, red pepper, sun dried tomatoes and toasted pitta for lunch. Chorizo, tenderstem broccoli, gnocchi and pesto traybake tonight.0 -
Blue sky had disappeared here too by this morning and replaced by grey and rain. Didn't matter too much as I was volunteering in town and tend to eat lunch at a desk rather than having a break.
House feels cold tonight even with heating on, I think it's because the volunteering office is always very hot I was wearing a light blouse today and gave up on the cardigan by 10 o'clock. Unfortunately the bookshop at Petworth tomorrow will also be too hot 🥵
Small salmon quiche from the freezer for lunch with Watercress salad. I'm into watercress at the moment rather than my usual spinach salad although the SM bags aren't so peppery as the farm shop local stuff.
i found a thin loin chop in the freezer so stir fry with veg and noodles, nice and quick and no faffingLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
I just did the vacuuming and put on some laundry. It is cloudy here today. I got a voucher from Amazon for £15 off a £60 shop at Morrisons so I am having a Morrisons teacake with flora.
I think I might have a breakfast for lunch. I have vegan bacon, bread for toast, tomatoes and mushrooms. I don't think I have baked beans so I might have to go and buy some. I have a tin of ackee which I use as a scrambled egg replacement so I might have that too. I might buy some hash browns too, thinking about it.2025 GOALS

Good afternoon everyone,
Dry, cold and overcast here.
Apart from the routine domestics and stripping my bed I've not much planned.
For dinner last night I flattened then griddled a chicken breast and had it sliced focaccia with a side of spinach, green beans and peas. I only managed half the sandwich so the other half will be lunch. Making these tonight using a small tub of ragu from the freezer. Cheesy Bolognese buns | Jamie Oliver recipes We'll have them with salad and corn cobettes.0 -
A bit later today, got waylaid down internet rabbit holesGrey, dull & a bit damp, generally gloomy outsideLunch was tin of Asda C of mushroom soup, OK but hardly exciting, but ideal on this grey dayDinner, I'm trying the cheapo Essentials ham joint from Asda, in slow cooker with carrots etc. Worth a bash, it looked OK before it went in, and hours in SC usually gives good results for most meat.Probably have it with frozen chips fried mushrooms & eggs, may pop a fresh tomato on there just for fresh vegEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Had a nice break away however the money I put aside and what I saved from my January grocery budget disappeared very quickly when I hit the shops
at least Feb is a short month.
The freezer has been tidied and depending on how disciplined I am I should get through another week using up supplies.
Lunch was crisps and fruit on the coach.
Tonight - Hoisin chicken stir-fry, noodles
Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £119.54

Farway said:Grey, dull & a bit damp, generally gloomy outsideFirst time back to Petworth in a month as they closed for three weeks and then last week were closed for two weather related days, they lost four trees in the gardens which is why they don't risk visitors. I found standing up all day tiring on my hip, just out of practice and the 15 minute walk back to the car was probably not a good idea 🤨
Chicken and watercress salad for lunch. CBA to cook so found a chicken and mushroom pastry in the freezer pier and stuck it in the AF for a quick dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0
