    Good morning everyone,
There was a heavy frost when I got up use the loo around 5am but it's dull and damp now with rain forecast for later. Still blooming chilly though.
I need to tackle a chunk of voluntary admin this week so will make a start on that today along with making a shepherd's pie using cooked lamb from the freezer for tomorrow. Yesterday I made a vat of cabbage soup so some of that will be for lunch. The white cabbage I got on Saturday (need some to make Florida salad) was huge so there will be lots of cabbage been eaten over coming weeks as still have some red cabbage from the cheap Christmas veg buys. DS1 and DIL2B brought us back some gorgeous Guanciale from Rome so carbonara for dinner tonight.

I can't even think what I had the rest of the day, but I had jacket potatoes with baked beans and salad for dinner and it was so warm and comforting.

I have made cherry overnight oats in the fridge for tomorrow morning.

Not a particularly nice today, rain and misty but thankfully not freezing like it has been.

Cheese and chutney sandwich for lunch.

Caught up on a few chores then leftover green's and chicken for tonight.

Was much milder and even sunny for most of the day. However, it turned on my way back from running a few errands in town and I got soaked to the skin 😬

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Chorizo and butter bean stew tonight with pesto and pitta bread.

Rain & sunshine mixture this morning, quite windy as well. The sort of weather you go for a walk & get drenched half way.
Snap 🌧️💨 🌞 it definitely felt chilly as well

Spent this afternoon helping an elderly friend set up an apt for her credit card, tried her banking apt as well but too many issues I then helped with some decluttering and have bags for CS in my boot. I may regret setting up the apt as I fear it will involve a lot of "help me" calls.  When trying to set up the bank she forgot the bank had helped her do it years ago and she had no user name or password anymore, unfortunately to reset on their automated system it wanted her to say a set phase and it would identify her voice! Which is no longer the same as she has had a stroke. It will probably save my sanity but the aim was to avoid going into town when she doesn't need to do anything else.  I resisted the G&T when I got home

Cheese and grated carrot sandwich for lunch.  Stir fry beef and tenderstem broccoli with sticky rice for dinner

Dull and trying to rain, with no respite due according to forecast

That banking set up does sound like a trigger for Help Me calls, all so easy except when you don't know & it makes no sense
A friend is replacing his mother's TV, old one broken, new one is the dumbest Smart one he could find. But Mum, due to dementia, will press the wrong buttons and scramble everything and then forget every thing. :(
At least she is “happy” in her world & in her own flat

    Lunch, another SC silverside sandwich
Dinner, frozen cod in crumbs fillet, with HM AF chips & peas

    Good morning everyone,
Bright here today after some torrential rain yesterday afternoon. Unfortunately there is a small leak in the kitchen and DS2 has identified a couple of slates down near the boiler flue. He thinks he might be able to patch it until the we hit the top of the roofer's list!
Much I enjoyed my cabbage soup yesterday, my digestive system didn't and it's fair to say it's been a tad "windy in the Shire"...... I hate ditching food but DS2 isn't keen and I'd rather avoid another tummy upset so it's getting binned.
Lunch today is going to something light either eggy rice or marmite and toast. My sis and nephew are joining us for dinner tonight. I had intended to make cabbage with onions to have with the shepherd's pie but I think I'll go for green beans and carrots instead.

I had the cherry oats before I went out to the class and then stopped at a cafe on the way home and had smashed peas and avo toast and a macha latte. I'm trying to support local businesses more.

I am going to make roasted tomato and basil soup later as some of my tomatoes are going squishy. I bought fresh bread from Coop.

The weather is changeable here, rain, then sun, then rain again.

Oh dear Caronc, have to say I did raise an eyebrow when I read your menu yesterday. I enjoy cabbage both raw and cooked but there is just something about cooking it and brussel sprouts in soup that doesn't agree with me either  :D

Also there is nothing like finding a critter in ones greens to put one clean off - I bought some cavolo nero last week, I've already used some and was prepping the rest for tonight and found some holey leaves and a pretty green caterpiller... :p .Yuk... straight in the food waste bin.

Lentil soup from freezer supplies for lunch.

I've made a turkey, leek and sweetcorn pie mix, there's enough for three portions so I'll have one tonight with a sweet potato mash on top and some peas on the side, the other two portions will go in the freezer.

Rainy here today but have had a day of life admin. Have moved money, cleared paperwork, sorted clothes for charity, tidied cupboards etc and have a tip pile too. Nipped out for a bit this afternoon to do a small grocery shop and run an errand.

LO chorizo and bean stew for lunch. Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for early tea this week - swimming later 🏊‍♀️
