    Good morning everyone,
Marginally above freezing here this morning but still pretty icy underfoot.
Today I want to give the fridge a thorough clean. I discovered a sticky spill on one shelf last night which had a quick clean but I suspect it may have travelled, it will be a good opportunity to try and restore some order too! Tesco are due later, not that there's not plenty of food in the but I need various household bits and to top bread, milk etc. After today I'll be back to my usual once a week delivery.
I had a lovely evening with DS2, my sis and my nephew. The slow roasted lamb leg was a winner, I'll definitely be cooking it that way the next time I'm cooking a full bone in leg. It was fall apart tender but still had enough texture to carve into slices. It was a quite a large joint so there's plenty left for lunch time sandwiches and to freeze some for a future shepherd's pie. Dinner is tbc.

It was cold last night and frosty this morning. I like the winter weather being sunny and chilly, rather than grey and depressing, though. I had a toasted bagel this morning and I'm about to make some tea.

Hard overnight frost, but it's just dull, cold & grey, Forecast here is undecided, sometimes it's snow tonight, then it's maybe freezing rain, or not. Just have to wait & see

Very cold though, my heating cut in during the day yesterday, normally it's warm enough not to do that.

Similar to me, plenty of food but need some top-ups. I've got Asda next Wednesday now, detergent, kitchen roll, DW salt etc, not much in the way of actual food this time round.

Lunch, BLT sarnie, still using up Christmas bits
Dinner, LO ham, HM AF chips + use up salad bits

Bright & sunny day but bitterly cold. Its definitely soup weather so decided to use up the last of the veg and odd little bits in bags from the freezer - I now have a small pot of chicken, rice and sweetcorn soup as well as a larger pot of lentil soup, that'll keep me going for a bit.

Portion of the chicken, rice and sweetcorn for lunch.

Tonight it's a portion of spinach and ricotta tortellini, a portion of peperonata sauce, both from the freezer with hm garlic bread.

    Good afternoon everyone,
I had a very long and lovely lie in today, sleeping until after 11am. Most unlike me unless I'm poorly, which I'm not. I've nothing essential planned for today so I think the lazy theme might continue.
While I've been slothful DS2 has taken down the Christmas decorations and has a slot at the tip booked for tomorrow to dispose of the tree, The conservatory looks very empty without it and the ceiling fairy lights.
The slow cooker has been on overnight turning the lamb bones and scraps into stock. I'll get it strained and let it sit for 24 hours in the fridge so I can take the fat off before freezing.
Last night I made Lorne sausage stew which I had with the last of the Christmas bargain Brussel sprouts. There's LOs so that will cover brunch. Tonight it's chicken goujon wraps with salad and either wedges or baked spuds.

Was out to eat last night before the cinema. Lunch was baked beans and fried egg with potato waffles.

Bitterly cold again today but grey too. Domestic duties first thing then Lidl for a smallish grocery shop, won £10 on the super spin 🎉

Made a yummy toastie in the George Foreman for lunch - tuna, cheese, roasted pepper and sun dried tomato. Quiet afternoon keeping warm and catching up on telly and diaries on here. Made sausage and spinach gnocchi tonight 😋

We've had about an inch of snow so far tonight and it's still snowing, it's forecast to rain overnight than like with Farway it may be freezing rain or not, hopefully not! I've no need to go out tomorrow so will be an excuse to do some housework

I met a old work colleague for a coffee/tea in town this morning I've known her about 30 years, we used to meet up once a month after we were both made redundant 12 years ago but got out of the habit with covid, good to catch up and we've diaried the next one.  I parked in Waitrose as it is cheaper than other short term car parks and the same end of town so popped in for fresh stuff before coming home, I remembered why I usually avoid supermarkets on a Saturday morning  :s  home via my sister to drop off something and was offered a sandwich for a late lunch

prawns curry with rice for dinner.

I've taken a chicken out of the freezer for tomorrow but not sure it will defrost in my kitchen at the moment 🫣

The weather turned out to be very wet, windy & dull this morning. At least not freezing rain, or floods, blocked snow roads etc so on the whole, just a cold grey & grotty January day.

I had a fish F sarnie for breakfast, wanted something warming. But left half, just went off the idea halfway through.
Lunch, again something warming, the soup or beans ideas are appealing, so I'll have a rummage and see what I find first
Dinner, LO ham, HM AF chips, and maybe fried eggs

    Good afternoon everyone,
Bitterly cold here, dry so far but sleet and ice forecast for later.
I've a touch of the sniffles which might explain all the sleeping yesterday. I'm not feeling ill so fingers crossed that's as far as it develops.
Despite a good sweep up yesterday I'm still finding pine needles dropped when DS2 took the tree down so will give the floor another going over today but will no doubt be coming across them for months. This afternoon I plan to make a pot of ham and lentil soup as it looks as though it will definitely be soup weather this week. Bacon and eggs for brunch and tonight it's teriyaki pork belly with veg and noodles.
