Nice and sunny today but a very chilly breeze, roll on next week when the temp supposed to pick up quite a bit
Still working through freezer stock with chicken, rice and sweetcorn soup for lunch and the last portion of my own version of lamb tagine for tonight with some sweet potato mash and steamed broccoli.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Yeah, still cold here, more windscreen scraping 🥶
More Thai sweet potato soup for lunch, with a toasted pitta bread. Swimming this evening so made egg fried rice with LO Chinese pork, red pepper, baby sweetcorn and sugar snap peas 😋0 -
We've had a flurry or two of snow and some sleet luckily the worst of the weather is in East Sussex according to local radio
I had a call from the MSK team just before 9am asking if I wanted a cancellation appointment at 10.30am at the local small hospital. After prodding and poking he agreed that I needed a hip replacement the X-ray taken a year ago shows bone on bone on the outside of the joint so he's surprised it wasn't offered a year ago! The choices of hospitals included two private ones offering nhs ops and included one a friend was recommending when I saw her on Saturday. It seems it has a shorter wait time as people don't want to travel that far! It's only 15 minutes further away than East Surrey so a no brainer for me, private, shorter wait times, a hospital which specialises in hip and knee replacements and highly recommended. I had another X-ray before I left and he was going to do the referral today. The technician showed me both X-rays and said he could see it was worst than a year ago, he was training someone andit was interesting to listen in on
Whilst out I picked up a couple of things, annoyingly when I got back I realised I had left heating on the cat appreciated two hours of heating just for him

Cold, but bright & sunny, nice change from the wet snow yesterday, it never settled thoughGood news on hip, Brambling, I guess one advantage of living where you do is a lot of alternative choices available.Lunch, one last slice of LO ham, so on toast topped with grilled cheeseDinner. I have the chicken I roasted yesterday, so some of that, maybe with salad or with AF chips.Tempted to use some to make soup this weather, but not right nowEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Hopefully you won't have to wait too long for the op Brambling.
Coldest day so far here and very icy underfoot. The pooches were skidding on the slabs when they were running about so I shan't be going off the deck today! Tesco order needs finalising but that about the extent of my "must dos" today.
Fridge bits for lunch. I've sausages defrosting for dinner tonight, I'll decide later what to do with them.0 -
We had about 2 hours of snow showers this morning, resulting in a beautiful winter wonderland looking out, I'm just so glad I don't need to go out in that these days.
Good news Brambling, hope the waiting lists aren't too long in your area.
Made a batch of stilton scones yesterday afternoon, most went in the freezer but had a couple at lunchtime with my bowl of soup.
Found some forgotten black pudding in the freezer, I'll have that for tea tonight with a potato waffle and a fried egg.

I’ve been in meetings pretty much all day but it looked like a lovely sunny day outside. Forecast very cold tonight but I don’t have to go anywhere tomorrow so no scraping 🙃
Spicy parsnip soup and toasted pitta bread for lunch. Salmon with broccoli and pesto pasta tonight.0 -

Cold but a blue sky today 🥳 although it was already frosting when I went to put the cover on the windscreen at 6pm.I freezer rummaged than menu planned this morning before going to Tesco I had won a £10 voucher in a raffle before Christmas. I didn't need any meat or fish just mainly F & V and fresh bits
Just catching up on Patience (C4) before bed, it is the English version of Astrid in Paris which I like so hopefully it will live up to the same standards.
Sausage and brown sauce sandwich for a late lunch when I got back from Tesco. I half watched someone cooking on Morning Live this morning and they were stir frying with a sauce made of ginger, orange and oyster sauce they used chicken but I used salmon and half a pack of YS stirfry veg for dinner it was very tasty 😋 and not a obvious orange taste the three favours balanced out .Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Very hard overnight frost, but at least it's dry with some blue sky. I'm not going out, but I would expect icy pavements.Starting to finalise my normal Asda delivery for next week, back to normal post Christmas now, but I still have a cheese mountain so can skip that on the orderLunch, grilled fish fingers & a fresh tomatoDinner, Continuing using the LO roast chicken & last of the stuffingEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
