    A houseful then Caronc ๐Ÿ• ๐Ÿ•๐Ÿ•

A quiet day here, I was due to go out to lunch at family friends with my sister and her lot but my friend has V & D so I was glad it happened before rather after we saw them ๐Ÿคขย

I cooked a part baked roll for lunch and had with salmon and cream cheese. ย Jacket potato for dinner with coleslaw and grated cheese and some gammon brought back from my sister

Still grey & damp, very uninspiring, but at least my cricked back is on the mend and hopefully will be fine if & when sunshine arrives

Lunch, unused Christmas pate on toast
Dinner, make some coleslaw, a pot of mash & have with Christmas Smoked mackerel and salady bits

  • Bright sunny morning here, though I hope the fog isn't affecting too many of you.
    ย
Another portion of the soup I made yesterday with a couple of crispbreads for lunch.
    ย
I have some peppers leftover from last nights stir fry so will throw together a sauce and make a naan bread pizza for tea tonight.
    ย
I also need to sort through the freezer, update my inventory and plan the budget for January - what a fun life I leadย  :D

    Jan - June Grocery spends =ย ยฃ531.61
    July - Grocery spends = ยฃ119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = ยฃ42.19
  • It is dull weather here too. I just had crackers, cheese and fruit for breakfast as well as dinner last night! I had a big cup of green tea too.

I put away my very minimal xmas decorations this mornings and tidied up both living rooms a bit. I still have my real xmas tree up as it still looks fine. It is the first time I have ever bought one and I assumed it would have lost more needles and be looking worse for wear at this point. I'm not even sure if I should put it outside in the garden in the pot it came in or now or whether to just get it collected with the rubbish? I have to google...

    Good morning everyone,ย
Sunny but very blowy here. The wind is really cold.
We're keeping Ari for another night as my sister, although a bit better, still isn't well.ย
No real plans for today though I might have a potter in the kitchen and get some food prep for later in the week/the freezer done.ย
There's coleslaw LO from last night so that will form part of lunch with either cheese or cold cuts. Peri peri chicken thighs with spicy veg rice and garlic butter roasted sprouts for dinner.ย
  • Bit of sunshine here today but very short lived, was mostly dull and cold. Lazy, home day - bit of washing, made soup, did some voluntary admin, caught up on Christmas telly.

Soup, bread and cheese for lunch. Chicken and veg egg fried rice tonight.

Grey and foggy again which gave me no incentive to go out ๐ŸŒซ๏ธย

My eldest sister was taken to hospital yesterday with a virus which is causing her breathing problems, not covid but at 84 a cause for concern they are hoping just a couple of days on oxygen will be enough. ย There seems to be so much going around at the moment, she spent over 10 hours in the ambulance and A&E before they found her a bed.

A portion of soup from the freezer for lunch. ย A half sirloin steak also from the freezer for dinner with chips and vegย

Grey again, but hint of brightness, so who knows come mid-week?

Hope your sister improves Brambling, as you say, a lot of respiratory โ€œstuffโ€ going round this winter

Gradually making inroads into the fridge, but the bag of spuds in the pantry is sprouting already, :( No other space to put it.

Lunch, mushroom omelette = more fridge space
Dinner, LO HM coleslaw, + LO HM mash + LO smoked mackerel = more fridge space

    Good morning everyone,ย
ย I hope your sister feels better soon Brambling, definitely lots of nasty bugs about this year.
My sister is feeling a good bit better so Ari will go home today.ย
Wet and windy here, I think the furthest I'll be will be the bin! I really ought to do some housework........
Fridge gravel for lunch and Thai green pork and veg curry with rice for dinner.
  • I hope your sister will be okay Brambling.

I was up last night coughing and trying to prop myself up in the bed. My Fitbit said I had a good sleep, hmm. I feel much better today so it was only a week I had that cold/virus, but it seemed to drag.ย

It is finally sunny and bright as well today which is lovely. I know it is meant to get colder this week.

I just had a huge cup of Yorkshire tea in a Starbucks London mug I bought the week before Christmas when I was at Victoria station. I had toast with Flora and smooth PB too.
