  • I thought the sky here looked snowy at times this morning but it was mild, wet and windy. Did brighten up this afternoon.

Was out and about getting my haircut, returning an item and finishing my Christmas shopping so treated myself to lunch out. Made a traybake tonight - sausages, chickpeas, red pepper, onion and broccoli with smoked paprika and oregano. Was nice for a thrown together use up 🙃

The furry alarm clock allowed me a lay in which was good as I've not been sleeping well lately 😴 another blah day weather wise so both loads of washing have been hung up stairs the bedding can wait another couple of days

Went to amend my Waitrose order and the small half price crackers are now sold out, little one likes pulling them 🙂 I decided not to risk no subs and a Christmas Eve dash I totosn so waited until 7pm to go to Sainsbury to get some, it was lovely and quiet and a quick dash in and out 🙂

freezer rummage produced a couple of crumpets for lunch.  I roasted a small beef joint for a roast dinner, I'm wishing now I brought a bigger one and cut in half to freeze half, this one was a good shape so no thin end to over cook I think only LOs for two meals which isn't a bad thing

Started with blue sky & sunshine, bitterly cold though. Clouding over now, but i'm in anyway.

Cooked the lamb leg yesterday, it's a good one, ample for a family and loads of LOs for one. Plus I have lamb dripping for my nostalgia trips to childhood bread & dripping, with salt & pepper of course.

Lunch, lamb & mint sauce sarnie
Dinner, lamb, new spuds & maybe salad or perhaps hot veggies

Wet and very windy here, glad I don't have to go out so I'll cosy up in front of the telly this afternoon.

    Fried egg softie for lunch.

Found a lamb leg steak in the freezer that I'd forgotten about, its all chopped up and chucked into the SC with some veg and curry sauce that'll be ready for tea tonight, with some poppadum, chutney and rice.

    Good morning everyone,
Farway I had lamb dripping roasted sweet potatoes once as side dish and they were really good.
It's been wild here and still is. The trains were off for a bit due to a tree on the line but thankfully they were back on by the time DS2 was heading home.
Got my wrapping done, I was laughing in the evening when I saw a post on FB saying it wasn't officially Christmas until you had fallen out with a roll of sellotape, so Christmas has started for me as I kept losing the end!  :D
Tesco are due later with an order of mainly fresh bits. There's no OOS or subs so unless I've forgotten something essential (quite possibly) that's Christmas covered as I already had bought the turkey and made pigs in blankets and stuffing.
I cooked a big pan of ragu yesterday so just need to make some bechamel for Tuesday's lasagne later. I went for the sausage and mince stew for dinner and had a portion with root veg mash and the last of a savoy cabbage. It was lovely. There's enough stew left for lunch and a decent portion for the freezer and I'll freeze two portions of the mash too. DS2 is making Lamb keema tonight which we'll have with rice and naan. Monday's are usually our "curry night" but we're off out for dinner tomorrow and with Christmas roast dinner looming neither of us fancied a roast dinner tonight.
  • All the weather here today and saw some snow while out and about. Wet and windy now, hope it calms down before my big drive tomorrow.

Out for lovely roast today and am absolutely stuffed still. There are nibbly bits in the fridge if I need anything later.

Off to family for a few days tomorrow so will wish everyone a very happy Christmas 🎄
  • I've woken up with a slight cold after being out in London most of the week. I don't feel too bad.

I can't remember what I had for breakfast! I had a cheese and cucumber sandwich for lunch along with Hula Hoops, a Kitkat and some clementines.

I'm making roast potatoes  baked Quorn pieces, peas and gravy for dinner.

It was windy last night, every time I woke up I could hear it, it was dry but cold today when I popped out the temperature said 7c but the wind chill definitely made it feel a lot colder, typical winter day

Beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch.  I found a duck breast in the freezer so had noodles, stirfry veg, duck and plum sauce for dinner

Cold wind this morning, sort of grey sky, like snow, due but not likely this far Sarf.

I only have a couple of hand-delivered cards to write, and a couple of small presents to wrap & that's me done.

Lunch, Waitrose posh sausage sarnie. Although I bought on offer, normally £4.50, I think I'd buy again even at full price, very nice, if expensive.
Dinner, still using the lamb leg, so that plus I think 30p veg tray roast + 30p sprouts

    Mince pie if space later
It will come as no surprise that Waitrose pies are tastier then Asdas

    Good morning everyone,
The storm has eased but it's still wet and miserable. We're off out tonight for dinner with my sister and nephew in Glasgow. At least we won't need to drive across the moor in gale force winds!
The lamb keema DS2 made yesterday he made the full recipe as it was the first time he had cooked. It was supposed to serve four but there were 6 generous portions so we used 2 and I frozen two tubs for future dinners. I also froze a large tub and a small one portion tub of ragu so there's a few meals covered for coming weeks. The lasagne is made and there will probably be LOs to freeze from that as well. Fridge bits for lunch.
