Farway said:Blue sky and sunshine, cooler though as a trade-off.DD near Southampton is affected by the Southern water shortage, off to the bottled water distribution centre for a few days. Luckily, there are strapping DGC to give her a hand.Popped into town for a needed haircut, curls were out of control
I bumped into someone in M&S and talked to long so a quick dash before the car park ran out, unfortunately I forgot what I wanted so it was a small shop

Frosty start to the day, into Morries first thing looking for last minute plant pressie, sold outhad to go onto hated nearby garden centre with Christmas tat, but at least they had suitable plants there, so I'm all sortedWater is back for my DD, and Brambling's DS, heard the boss of Southern water on R4 this morning, seems the problem was we aren't paying enough for them to fix things in time. Just a good job the cost is increasing by 53% next yearLunch, If I can find my tin of soup I think that will be ideal this weatherDinner, very tempted to do a veggie tray bake with my carrots, parsnips & onions. Now I have more cheapo one arriving tomorrow with Waitrose.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
It's cold, wet and hardly light here this morning, definitely a day for hunkering down indoors.
Some domestics and dealing with a Tesco delivery are about the extent of my plans. I've four pressies to wrap so might tackle that and I need to think about what I'm wearing on Christmas day and check if it needs ironing.
Fridge gravel for lunch and dinner is the usual Friday tbc.0 -

I have eaten out so much this week. I am eating out again tonight in London so I had some toast and a yoghurt for breakfast. I will take some snacks for the train as I'm eating dinner at 6, so quite early. It looks nice and sunny today, but it feels chilly.0 -
I hate wishing the days away but roll on the shortest day, its been very gloomy well into mid-morning for the past few days.
A relaxing day at home for a change, a few chores and watching movies on the telly. A dive into the freezer soup stash for lunch, it turned out to be potato & leek
I also decided on a veggie plan for tonight, last of the cauliflower with a cheese sauce, some brussel sprouts and roasted parsnips.

That’s me done for Christmas 🎄. Worked from home but due to other people’s disorganisation, didn’t get as much done as I wanted. Nipped into town at lunchtime to run an errand, was so busy! Cold and windy then but has turned wet this evening.
Spinach and ricotta tortellini with tuna, sweetcorn and sun dried tomatoes for lunch. Sort of mezze tonight, mostly using things up from the freezer. Oh, and 🍷0 -
Volunteering day in town, I didn't expect to have to de-ice the car first thing 🥶 it was busy so the day went fast
I used Just Park to park in the Sainsbury's car park which is next to the office so popped into Sainsbury's on my way back to the car to pick up some of their Christmas veg, I know Lidl are a little cheaper but cba to try and park in their small car park. I got petrol on the way out and annoyingly it has gone up again, I meant to get it Monday when it was cheaper and forgot 🙄
LO prawns turned into a prawn mayo roll for lunch. Mac n cheese for dinner, I didn't fancy cauliflower

Wet, grey and just miserable, ideal for Mid Winter dayWednesday2000 said:Farway said:Dinner, very tempted to do a veggie tray bake with my carrots, parsnips & onions. The onion, again from YT, I baked in its jacket in the same oven, and that worked well also. Just slit the jacket & the cooked onion slips out, discard jacket [skin]Waitrose Christmas delivery arrived as ordered, all present, including cheap 30p veg & the posh sausages I had a £2.50 coupon for, so only £2.I'll try some posh bangers in a sarnie for lunch, see if 4.50 full price would ever be worth it for six bangersDinner, Now my Christmas is sorted, over DS & then DD for both days I'm going early & cooking the lamb I bought, may as well cook & use it todaySo, roast lamb, new spuds, steamed sprouts, carrots & parsnipsDoubt I'll have room, but I could sample a mince pie afterwardsEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

Good morning everyone,
Wild and dark here today. DS2 has braved the wind the wind and rain to walk Hector, it's fair to say pooch was the more enthusiastic of the two! DS2 is then heading to Glasgow for a meal and some drinks with his mates. Should the trains be disrupted due to the weather later he'll head to DS1's for the night. Hector and I are going to have a pottering day, I didn't get as far as wrapping yesterday so that's on today's list. We've decided to have lasagne for dinner on Christmas eve so I'll prep the veg for the ragu today so I can just get it assembled tomorrow. I cooked some salmon in foil with veg for dinner last night, there's a wee bit of salmon left just enough to have in a wrap with salad for lunch. Dinner is tbc but will probably involve beef mince, I'm swithering between Salisbury steak or mince and sausage stew.0 -
Peculiar sky this morning I was convinced it was going to snow but no, just rain. Nice and sunny now but the wind is picking up a bit.
Green soup for lunch.
Using up tuna & sweetcorn quiche from the freezer tonight, tomato & onion salad as well as brussel sprout & carrot slaw on the side.
