I had a smoothie and a cup of green tea. I'm about to have some more mushroom soup with some buttered toast. This cold has become heavier, although I don't feel particularly ill. I was supposed to be going out on Friday into Canary Wharf, but I can't be bothered at the moment. It feels quite cold today too. I will see how I feel closer to the day.0

Happy Christmas JKS, hope your journey isn't too challenging.
Wednesday I hope you start feeling better soon, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I manage to avoid the germs on the bus this morning, way too much coughing and sneezing for my liking
Last "need to go out trip" this morning, I had a check-up at the dentist and thankfully given the all clear. Made a quick dash around tesco to pick up some salady bits and more sprouts of course before getting the bus back up the road.
Lunch was the last portion of the "green soup" from the freezer.
Tonight I'll have chicken kiev, brussels & mashed potatoes.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

Another windy night last night which turned into a chilly day, I'll take that over the grey and wet weather
waitrose delivery arrived mostly ok, one sub accepted, one declined and I refused the fennel bulb which he agreed wasn't great and took it off the bill and then gave it to me anyway. I don't think that Waitrose have really run out of mature cheddar 🙄 I'm assuming it was just the one I choose but they offered no substitute 🤷🏼♀️ unfortunately i'll need to get some tomorrow to make cheese straws for Xmas day or I'll be in trouble, last year I was told off for halving the recipe so turning up with none it seems won't be acceptable if I want lunch!Beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch and there is enough for tomorrow. I took a portion of HB sausage casserole from the freezer for dinner 😋 your right about the benefits of buying posh sausages Farway 🙂 definitely worth buying although I would think twice about paying £5.50 for 6 Waitrose Wagyu beef sausages but I only paid £1 I wish I brought all four packs which were there and not just the one 🙂Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -

Very misty and gloomy.Nearly ready, just a couple of cards and get my "bits" together to take over DS tomorrow, he's an optimist, they're up in London right now, the family had a few days up there. They are due to return home today and maybe all will be well, but IME Christmas Eve was always the day for travel hiccups, strikes & general muddles.Just made a pre-mix loaf in the BM, I thought I had enough to last me but misjudged that, which I why I have some ready mixes in, just in caseNo meals really planned for today, depends on how I feel, and will be easting all sorts whilst out over the next few days anywayLunch, fresh bread, LO lamb sarnieDinner, LO lamb in there somewhere, maybe with salad bits?I'm out & about for the next couple of days, visiting the off spring & families, see you all on the other sideMery ChristmasEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Good morning everyone,
Another wet and gloomy one here today.
We had a lovely meal out last night. I had Japanese style fried chicken with wasabi mayo, slaw and fries. I really enjoyed it. Today the turkey will get cooked, DS2 is just about to bone it, mash made and the veg prepped for tomorrow. We're doing some canapes two so will make smoked salmon pate, smoked mackerel pate, cheese straws and figs & goats cheese wrapped in pancetta. The lasagne for tonight is defrosting so just need to sort out some salad and garlic bread. The Christmas cleaning ( or as much as we are doing) was finished yesterday so apart routine chores it's just the food to sort out and I enjoy that bit.
Wishing you all a Merry Christmas.1 -
Aw. Cute dog!🤩
I just had toast and Flora for breakfast with the last clementine. I'm having pizza for dinner tonight.
I will be cooking a roast dinner for two tomorrow and have croissants and jam and orange juice for breakfast. I forgot to buy orange 🍊 juice just now so I will have to go out again later. It is very mild outside here and it is meant to be even warmer tomorrow.
Happy Christmas to all on here.2025 GOALS

It's nice and mild after the cold we've been having. Got some washing out earlier there's a bit of a breeze but not much sunshine.
Soup and a sandwich for lunch.
Haddock and chips for tea.
I'm being picked up early evening to go and stay with family for a couple of days. I was asked to make a vegetarian soup so did a sweet potato and red pepper one. I've also packed all that's required for the obligatory trifle.
So I'll also say see you on the other side.
Merry Christmas.

I made my contribution to Christmas today, cooked the gammon and finished with a honey and whole grain mustard glaze. I decided to make my own stollen this year, so many recipes to choose from, it seems it depends what part of Germany it comes from. I decided the BBC usually does me well and this has produced some lovely stollen 😋 I added a little port to the hot water when I soaked the fruit. Cheese straws are made but not cooked, they taste better when cooked the same day
After eating 3 of the corner pieces it's now all boxed up to go to my sisters

last of the beef shared between his lordship and me lunch time, mine was in a sandwich with horseradish . Spinach and ricotta cannelloni from the freezer for a easy dinner

Good afternoon everyone,
I've had a very lazy day so far after a hectic but enjoyable one yesterday. I did get up to see DS1 and DIL2B off to catch a lunchtime flight from Edinburgh but decided to head back to bed afterwards, I intended to read but promptly fell back asleep. My fridge is still crammed, not helped by DS1 and DIL2B basically bringing the contents from theirs' as they are away until the 10th of January and had accumulated lots of bits after doing a fair bit of entertaining in the preceding days. Time to have a tidy before my sister arrives later to help us make a dent in the LOs.0 -
I had toast and yoghurt for breakfast. I got up late so I'm having lunch now. Pasta with sun dried tomato sauce, peas and cheese. I think I'm over the worst of the cold. I need to get outside for a walk tomorrow as I feel quite stir crazy!2025 GOALS
