Happy new year everyone. Back to CFOing after another festive couple of days away. Also, scarily, back to work tomorrow and the temperature is set to plummet tonight 🥶
Used up some more picky bits from the fridge for lunch. Tuna, broccoli and pesto pasta tonight.0 -
I woke with the sniffles and a headache but it hasn't yet developed into anyone, my sister my nephew is the same. I had no need to go out so stayed in and vegged.I used the last of a pack of smoke salmon and some cream cheese for lunch on a toasted bagel, I burnt the first bagel standing with my back to the toaster when I did my menu plan on the fridge 🙄 Easy dinner of a small cheese and tomato pizza from the freezer with extra veggie toppings followed by a small piece of Xmas cakeLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0

Good morning everyone,
Very cold here today and still -4C, I doubt much of the ice will melt before darkness falls. I'm going nowhere as it's very slippy underfoot.
Although the 2nd is a holiday up here, DS2 is back to work as his home office is in Newcastle. Suffice to say he was less than enthusiastic but can't really complain as he has been off since the 17th December! I need to crack on and sort out dinner for tonight though my sis and nephew aren't coming until 7pm so plenty of time to get organised. I'm slow roasting a leg of lamb. It will take around 5 hours but once in the oven I can just leave it to it.We're having it with roasties, cauli cheese. swede, green beans and gravy. My sis is bringing pudding.
There's still lots of turkey soup so I'll have some of that for lunch.0 -
It is sunny today, but meant to get quite cold tonight. I slept in again so I haven't eaten breakfast yet.

We have snow...
..I noticed a light shower around 7pm last night then the frost came down so I wont be going anywhere, which is good for my NSD count and my limited budget for this month. There's sunshine in between the showers but doesn't seem to be melting much. That's another shower started, coming from the north, sky is just full of it.
I have salad stuff to use up and found some pineapple in the freezer so ham and pineapple salad for lunch.
Turkey curry tonight, with boiled rice, I think I have a couple of poppadum's left in the tin and any leftover pineapple will get used too.

Spicy parsnip soup and toasted pitta for lunch. Last portion of pork in cider from the freezer tonight with mustard mash, broccoli and sugar snap peas.0 -

Petwood was really busy today so I grabbed a quick lunch, lamb and mint sauce roll using LO lamb from Tuesday dinner.I was tired when I got back and dozed off for a bit, I didn't fancy dinner so just some Christmas cheese and crackers

Another snowy day here, which is fine as I'm catching up on chores. Decorations down and put away, cleaning away last years dust and cobwebs from the corners and under the furniture.
Soup from the freezer stash for lunch, looks like pea and ham. The stash is getting low with just 2 turkey broth and a green soup left so a new batch will be on the plan for tomorrow.
I soaked the last of a packet of dried chickpeas overnight and have them cooking in the SC, I'll use some of them to bulk out the leftover turkey curry for tea tonight and dry off and freeze the rest.

Hard overnight frost, with a very cold, dry & sunny morningI'm not going anywhere, so ice is not a problemSlowly using up the Christmas stuff, just one small bit of ham left now, and some yellow spouts which I think may be compost soonI have carrots & parsnips, but a tray roast is on the cards to use thoseWondering about getting an Asda delivery next week, I don't need a lot of items, but detergent and the like are running low, so may take the opportunity to replenish those instead of food itemsI have a loaf in the bread maker, normal ingredients today, not a ready-made mixLunch, last of the bacon in a sarnieDinner, ham, HM AF chips & fried eggs. Use up items!Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
