Sunshine and clear skies here but the downside is that it brings freezing nights, heavy frost this morning but did lift about 11.00am.
Like others I spent time doing Christmas correspondence, I've cut down the cards as well so its mainly family and friends at long distance so all include a letter or note. The issue was getting stamps tried 3 shops before I managed to get a book of standard 2nd class, thankfully they are all in the post now. Still have to write out the local ones that will be hand delivered.
Green soup and crackers for lunch.
Scotch egg, oven chips and salad tonightjustkeepswimmimg said
Enjoy the casserole, N2BT - think I’ve still got a couple of portions in the freezer.

Wondering what Farway was going to make with fresh mint and pickled gherkins 🤔😂
Lots of meetings today so felt a bit drained by the end of it. Felt better for a swim.
Tuna and sweetcorn roll for lunch. Prawn, red pepper and cabbage egg fried rice tonight.0 -
Dull and damp day again
a lazy morning than after lunch I popped around to my sister to help wrangle her granddaughter who was full of energy and kept us on our toes, I was glad I had a excuse to leave at 5pm although little one told me I should stay for dinner, if I wasn't going out I would have been tempted by the smell of roasting chicken 😋
Hummus and grated carrot wrap for lunch. A late dinner of a large bowl of turkey broth with a crusty roll for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Grey, damp but ever so slightly milder this morning.
I've just four cards to post and a few that don't need posting. Yesterday I sent festive messages including a photo of Hector looking very sweet in a Santa outfitso apart from some wrapping and the catering I'm feeling pretty organised. That said the tree isn't up (or bought) but I never put it up until a few days before and DS2 likes to do that.
We have Ari until Sunday, poor we soul still hasn't fully recovered from his back injury so has to be watched like a hawk as he's feeling much better so thinks he fit to jump about as normal!
This afternoon I have a butcher's order arriving, the local scrap merchant is collecting my old washing machine and I have a Tesco order. No doubt they will all arrive at the same time.
Fridge gravel for lunch. Dinner will be pork steak with various veg and a baked potato.0 -
I had toast with cream cheese this morning and I just went to pick up my dry cleaned coat. It is that very fine drizzle outside and quite chilly.
I'm trying to decide what to make for lunch. Houmous and grated carrot sounds nice, but I would have to make houmous from scratch. Maybe I will make jacket potatoes to have it with.0 -
Dull but milderDentist first thing, need one filling
, so booked again for January
Into Morries on way home, fancied cauliflower cheese with some Asda offer salmon, so need more milk + cauliflowerFound both, plus lucky YS of some Mature cheddarHowever, quick change of meal plan, also bought YS smoked haddock!justkeepswimmimg said:Wondering what Farway was going to make with fresh mint and pickled gherkins 🤔😂Cunning planning, the mint, live in a pot, £1, will be for the New spuds I'll be having with my on offer Christmas lambPickled gherkins are between me & DGD who I ensnared enticed with bacon sarnies and pickled gherkins [not together] when she was a toddler. No one else like PGs, so it's our treat, but DGD now has a BF, so maybe he likes them?Lunch was some YS cheddar + pickle sarnieDinner, the YS smoked haddock + HM mash + frozen mixed vegEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0 -
Nice and sunny here and most definitely milder, no frost on the ground this morning.
Went for a mooch around town picked up a fancy spiced orange scented candle, then into the Italian ice cream shop and couldn't resist treating myself to a limoncello panettone - that's my Christmas presents to me sorted
Lunch was cottage cheese, crispbread, cucumber, tomato and chilli sauce.
Tonight hm chicken chow mein

Cold and drizzly here today. In the office in my Christmas jumper 🎄
Celery and Stilton soup with chunk of sourdough bread for lunch. Tuna steak with tomatoey lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight.0 -
It has drizzled on and off all day but that has made it milder
i went to the 'big' Tesco this morning I've been there twice since lockdown, I just got out of the habit but I wanted to see if they had their on offer sides of salmon. I used their scanner for the first time and liked that it told me I had vouchers to use, I ended up with a salmon side, small half leg of lamb and small beef joint all more than half price Club offer and I had a 20% off fish and meat joints 😁 so I'll have to rejig the freezer once I cut up the fish, I also brought the Christmas gammon to take to my sister, only £1.25 a kilo club offers but again 20% off that. I also picked up a cauliflower on club offers but again. Idid send more than I planned but worth the visit. The only YSwas some sea bass fillets nearly half price which I popped in the freezer. At this rate I'm never going to eat down the freezer. I do have a drawer of HM RM (LOs) I may start taking those out after Christmas on volunteering days for dinner.
Homevia the pet shop his lordships food is on offer so I've brought another box for after Christmas
Turkey broth for lunch. I chopped and AF some pork belly slices tossed in Chinese five spices and had with sticky rice and green vegLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Dull, grey & still, very gloomy so farGood buys in Tesco Brambling, hard to resist. I got pulled in by Morries cheese selections yesterday, it's just as well Waitorse upped sticks & moved further away or I'd be spending even more.I'm on also salmon side cutting & freezing later today, but mine's Asda.Lunch, egg sarnie for convenienceDinner, cauliflower cheese & salmon fillet.Once I've portioned up the salmon side I'll use one fillet, in a foil parcel in the oven with the Cauli cheese.Eight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0
