Hope everyone is safe and well and not too badly affected by the storm, I'm sitting enjoying a cuppa and watching the sea from the cosy comfort of home and wont be venturing out at all.
Butternut squash soup for lunch.
Corned beef hash tonight with broccoli in cheese sauce.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61

A little wet as windy here but we seem so far to be missing the worst of the storm. I needed cat food as it seems I didn't have another box in the cupboard
he did have his breakfast but would have run out by tomorrow so a trip to the pet place this morning, the roads were really busy around town so I'm assuming people trying to miss the storm. I stayed home most of the day other than a cuppa at my sisters' this afternoon whilst we worked out what a couple of Christmas presents.
Gammon sandwich for lunch. Ginger, chili and lime salmon for dinner with rice and stirfry veg
I'm sitting listening to the wind blowing outside hopefully it wouldn't get too bad, we are forecast to miss the worst 🤞

Good afternoon everyone,
After a wild day yesterday it was pleasant surprise to wake to a clear, calm and frosty morning! We seem to have avoided any storm damage.
DS2 and Hector returned late afternoon and Hector was very pleased to see me and many, many rubs and cuddles very required!
Had a fairly productive morning tackling the laundry, changing my bed etc. so not planning much for the rest of the day apart from making a pot of soup and cooking dinner.
LO baguette pizza and coleslaw for dinner. I've defrosted a small joint of sirloin to roast later, we'll have it with creamy mushroom sauce, broccoli, carrots and roasties.0 -
It wasn't too bad here storm wise. I have felt chilly all day so have had the heating on twice. I remembered I bought a faux fur hoodie at a charity shop last year and have put that on and feel much warmer!🙂
I air fried some tofu slices and had them on buttered toast for breakfast. I also had a blueberry yoghurt and a banana.
I fancy mashed potatoes and gravy so will look in the freezer to see what would go with it. Maybe veggie sausages and peas.0 -
Not too bad a day here, sunshine this morning but appears to be clouding over now.
Similar going on in the kitchen here Caronc, my soup can only be labelled "green", handful of green lentils and marrowfat peas, broad beans, frozen peas and the last of the broccoli went in.
I roasted a couple of chicken thighs when I had the oven on yesterday, I'll have some of the meat tonight with some microwave rice, brussel sprouts and carrots.

No cooking yesterday as was out for a lovely lunch and was too full for anything last night.
Slept really late this morning which was lovely after being awake at 4.30 yesterday! Got myself organised and out to claim my free greggs bacon roll and cuppa for late breakfast 😋
Snacked a bit after swimming and then had pork in cider from the freezer with mustard mash and cabbage for tea.
I’ve made celery and Stilton soup this afternoon which should do me for work lunches until I finish for Christmas 🙃0 -
I would have liked a lay in after a bad night but his lordship thought 7am was a good time for breakfast 🤨 and then wasn't happy with the weather both out the front door and the back! He's been a PITA today I think due to the weather again, he does have a litter box but won't use it 🙄 zoomies around the ground floor
lack of sleep and achy hip meant a quiet day for me other than making turkey stock from a drumstick, I'll skim the fat tomorrow and make broth. I did watch Dalgliesh but found it a bit dull and couldn't really get into it.Humus and grated carrot wrap for lunch. Steak, chips, fried onions, mushrooms and broccoli for dinnerLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Weather near normal, dull & dry though. I was out over DS yesterday, a bitter North wind, and was happy to get back home out of it.Lunch, cheese & sliced onion sandwichDinner, not really the weather for it, but salad use up say, with C & O flan & jacket potatoEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens0

Its cloudy but feeling quite mild here.
Caught up on a few domestic chores this morning then went to the baker and the bank, I need to complete my online shop this afternoon and I'll tidy the freezer before it arrives tomorrow.
I had few leftovers to use up today so lunch was a corned beef sandwich and tonight I'll use up the last of the chicken and rice dish leftover from last night.
