    Good morning everyone.
Snap re the HB casserole Brambling, I'm cooking that tomorrow for DS1, DIL2B and my sis coming for dinner.
Much cooler today it's supposed to freeze tonight.
The big freezer is refilled and there's an empty shelf. The empty shelf in the smaller freezer now holds a turkey.  :)
Just about to head to physio, it's much needed as I had to postpone my last session when I was unwell so it's 6 weeks since I've been. LO gammon for lunch. Tonight it Thai green pork and veg curry with rice.

Lovely sunny day here but a bitterly cold wind again coming from the north.

Been rummaging through the freezer for some of the odds and ends that need using before I think about another shopping delivery.

Prawn salad roll for lunch and tonight a beef burger, mashed potatoes, tomatoes & sweetcorn.

This is my favourite sausage casserole and their diet recipe doesn't compare to it, worth the extra calories 😋 I how have a portion in my freezer 🙂. I didn't want to open a bottle of red so I had added a little port instead

Out and about this morning, came back into town via the farm shop where I managed to pick up a turkey drumstick for broth.  Unfortunately cauliflowers were either very large too big for CFO or romanesco.   Then home via the new Aldi for the first time where I forgot the cauliflower 🙄 spent more than planned but did get some stuff for Christmas including a couple of bottles of wine for Christmas Day.

Gammon and salad roll for lunch.  LO sausage casserole, rice and green veg for dinner

  • Stayed up far too late binge watching Showtrial last night. My body clock is well programmed for getting up for work though!

Spicy carrot and lentil soup with toasted pitta for lunch yesterday and made chicken and chorizo jambalaya last night.

Lunch today will be LO jambalaya, and it’s beans with toast later.

Cold but not with the frost I was expecting

I tried to amend my Asda order yesterday, but I got warned of so may out of stock items I just gave up & left it well alone and will wait & see what turns up, or not.
I do hope the salmon & lamb arrives, but I shan't be surprised if it's all gone

Lunch. Fake Spam & mustard sandwich.
Dinner, another TBD day, I'll have a freezer rummage later

    Good morning everyone,
Yep agree it's worth every calorie! I'm feeding six folk who like to eat so will add extra beans and sausages. It would be lovely if there LOs tomorrow but I suspect not! Lunch is tbc, we've used up LOs and I've finished the freezer soup stash. I really must make some soups and get those restocked but it won't be today as I'm very sore after physio so apart from making dinner I'm for a gentle day. It's pretty cold and a bit icy out so a good excuse not to stray. Frank is staying over tonight and tomorrow him and Hector are going to DS1 and DIL2B's for a couple of days as DS2 is away Thursday & Friday. I'm looking forward to some time on my own but will be pleased when they come back too. :)
  • Very heavy frost this morning and I don't think the temp got above 4c throughout the day.

I felt I needed something warming for lunch so spiced up some baked beans with a bit of chilli sauce and had them on toast.

I have some l/o chicken from the weekend so it'll be another "throw together" meal for tonight with some pasta, pesto and veg.

  • I had a toastie and a yoghurt again for breakfast. I had quiche and salad for lunch.

It wasn't all that cold today when I went for a walk, but I feel chilly now. I've been sitting around watching my first xmas film.

No rain today and definitely brighter which means the temperature has dropped again.  I was given a winter health check for the car when it was serviced in August so i popped that to the garage lunch time and read a book and drank tea when they did that and washed and valeted it for me  :) it was very cold in there and I had taken my coat out of the car before i left home.  I came back via Sainsburys as i had some of nectar vouchers i wanted to use 50p off cereal, milk, yoghurt and runner beans. Then across the road to Waitrose where i had a free voucher for some cinnamon biscuits and £1.00 voucher off mince pies and 50p off mustard so to small shops but stuff I'll use I resisted all YS as i really must clear spaces in my freezers

Some volunteer admin for both roles completed this afternoon i have a online training session tomorrow morning

Gammon and salad roll for lunch, this is a lovely piece of gammon from M&S.  Portion of cod, chorizo and tomato stew from the freezer for dinner with green veg and rice.

I watched two xmas films yesterday and enjoyed them both. I finally got around to booking my Christmas food delivery, but I could only do the 19th December as all the dates after were booked up. That will teach me. It doesn't matter as I live near about 5 supermarkets.

I'm going to have toast and Marmite and a chai latte in a minute. I'm going to watch another xmas film today. :)
