  • A very thick frost here this morning but lovely and sunny now. I caught up on a few domestic chores this morning and prep for meals over the next few days.

It seems to be all about health and check-ups for a few of us at the moment, I have a telephone consultation scheduled for this afternoon following my blood test last week. Brambling I'm with your physio and would have thought a hip replacement in your sixties would be preferable and improve your quality of life for the next few years at least, but as you say long waiting list to join :| .

Lunch is another portion of the curried squash soup, nice and warming on such a frosty day and tonight its Piri piri prawns with vegetable rice.

    Good morning everyone,
Sounds like a good physio Brambling.
Another lateish start for me but I feel more energetic than I have for a few weeks so I'm not fighting it.
Very cold here and to drop below freezing tonight. DS2 said the slabs were a bit slippy in places first thing but it's lifted now.
Smaller freezer is all tidied and refilled and the top shelf free for Christmas goodies now. I'll work on the big freezer over the next few days but it's not such a jumble and really just needs emptied and defrosted. I think I might be able to clear a shelf in it too now the bits that that should have been in the smaller freezer are where they should be.
HM soup from the freezer for lunch. Tonight it's shepherd's pie using up cooked lamb shoulder, a tub of gravy and mash from the freezer so a nice easy one. We'll have it with various veg.
  • I had a toasted bagel and a chai latte. It is chillier than yesterday, but not that bad. This afternoon is meant to be colder.

I was thinking of making soup for lunch as I have a roll leftover in the fridge.

Wet start, fringes of the storm but nothing more than just wet

Into town & Marks, needed milk & buy a gift voucher.
All went well, some decent YS stuff, including a small red cabbage 45p, I've sliced it & it's salted in the fridge now, I will pickle it tomorrow, just in time for Christmas.
Also, YS pork sausages, nice plump ones, and some YS Chantenay carrots

    Lunch YS sausage sarnie
Dinner, YS sausages, eggs & AF oven chips

after heavy rain last night there were several road closures this morning due to flooding, I'm really glad i don't have to drive to work any more 🌧️  💨 as there were carsstuck in the water on my usual route.  The dry weather has dropped the temperature quite a bit as the day has gone on

Half day volunteering training on a Teams call today which finished in time for lunch of cheese and coleslaw sandwich.

I popped out for a hour tonight and came home via the chippy  :# I'm currently regretting the cod and chips, Rennie anyone!

Frosty start with sun, looks nice with the autumn leaf colours

I'll finish off pickling the YS red cabbage today, it's been salted overnight in fridge, needs rinsing and packing in jars later.
Hoping I've enough vinegar, if not I'll see how mush cabbage is LO and may get some more vinegar from Morries tomorrow if needed

Lunch, salad sarnie, may slip some cheese in there having seen JSK & Brambling posts
Dinner, last of the YS sausages, eggs & chips, again

  • Frosty and sunny. I have the windows open to air the house, but I'm about to put the heating on.

I got an Indian takeaway last night which was very nice, but I feel a bit sick today. I'm having a "chuck everything in" green smoothie in a while.

I bought a tin of this last week and am loving it, really makes a nice change from ordinary tea or coffee.

Egg mayo sandwich for lunch and salmon, mashed potatoes and asparagus tonight.

It is nice. I gave up coffee and have now gone off black tea too so it is good to have another option. 😋
