Good afternoon everyone,
Very frosty first thing, no sunshine though so it hasn't really lifted. It's supposed to rain tonight.
The shepherd's pie was delicious but I was a tad heavy handed with the gravy so it was very sloppy. LOs for lunch.
I've some voluntary admin to tackle and then aim to make a start on emptying the big freezer as I didn't get to it yesterday.
CFO tonight, I've a couple of boneless chicken thighs defrosting. I'll decide what to do with them later though I'm thinking some sort of stew served with rice or pasta.1 -
Really cold again today here, took ages to scrape the ice off the car this morning. It has been sunny but very cold.
Spiced carrot and lentil soup with toasted pitta for lunch. Chargrilled tuna steak with lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight.1 -
I fell asleep downstairs last night and woke cold at midnight 🥶 there was a lovely froze this morning it looked very pretty.
Tonight I went to Leonardslee Lights with my sister, nephew and his family, little one loved it 🙂 It was lovely lots of lights etc and music and a carousel for the little one at the end of it. I took my walking poles so I managed the walking without too much pain and I had help tying my shoe lace on my bad side so was able to wear my light walking shoes 😁. The others had food from the food vans but I decided against it after last night F&C so had a late lunch of bacon, eggs, mushrooms and toast. I did buy a big cookie which was my dinner when we got bad at 8.30pm
I'm a little achy so unearthed the heating throw for the first time this year and his lordship and I are now to snuggly to go to bedLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -

Good afternoon everyone,
Much milder here but grey and damp.
I was a lazybones again this morning but likely to up very early tomorrow depending on when the washing machine is arriving. I should be able to see online this evening when the delivery slot is.
DS2 took a bag of laundry with him when he visited DS1 &DIL2B yesterday evening but there will still be a fair bit to tackle. Bigger freezer has been emptied - no UFOs, I'll switch it off later so it can defrost overnight.
Went with a herby chicken, veg and pasta stew with dinner. Thankfully it was tasty as it made a big pan full. DS2 and I had a bowlful for lunch and there's at least two more portions left so some will be getting frozen. Usual Friday tbc for dinner, possibly breaded haddock from the freezer as I've not had that for a while. .

I bought a tin of this last week and am loving it, really makes a nice change from ordinary tea or coffee.I go through phases Wednesday chopping and changing what I drink, I do like lady grey tea and along with the chai I'm also enjoying a "superblend" of turmeric, orange and star anise.
A couple of weeks ago Farway reminded me I hadn't made leek and potato soup for an age so that was on the menu for lunch today.
Found a couple of sweet potato and onion bhajis in the freezer so using them up tonight with a crunchy salad and a hm pakora sauce.

Fresh again here today, heating on low while wfh, but it’s to get milder over the weekend 🤷♀️Creamy mushrooms on toast for lunch. Red pepper, tomato and mozzarella gnocchi tonight.0

Now I'm tempted to make pickled red cabbage Farway but you can keep the pickled eggs 🤢
Not quite so cold today, I had a nice walk into town from my sister's house where I parked. Started at my second volunteer role this afternoon although still training, it will be every Friday. I got home in a bit of a rush to eat and go back out again to local theatre

Good afternoon,
Oh red cabbage and pickled eggs, yum!
Mild but murky today.
The washing machine has arrived and DS2 will install this afternoon. The big freezer was defrosted overnight, I'll give it a good scrub before switching it back on later ready to refill it tomorrow. It's ancient (bought in 1997!) so I'm hoping it switches back on okay.
Some more of the chicken, veg and pasta stew for lunch. Chicken wings tonight with, salad and either baked spuds or wedges.0
