Good morning everyone,
It's another wet and wild one and has turned really cold again.
Hectors tummy has thankfully settled, just as well as my washing machine died rather dramatically yesterday with a loud screech and an alarming clunk and rumble, not that he'd had any indoor accidents but still not the time to be generating extra laundry. The machine, a basic Beko, had lasted just over 11 years so didn't owe me anything. A new one has been ordered and should arrive this weekend. Here's hoping it's as good as the last one! The load it was washing has been taken to my sister's to go through her machine as it failed before rinsing and spinning.
DS2 dragged the "spare" usually unused chest freezer from the garage yesterday so I can get the one's I have sort out and defrosted. His Dad bought then redesigned his kitchen so had no space for it so DS2 took it for when he buys his own place. It's handy when you want to defrost and have little success in running the freezers down!
LO pork for lunch with salad in a wrap. Tonight DS2 is making Chicken Handi which we'll have with rice and naan.1 -
Sorry to hear about the washing machine Caronc, a bit inconvenient but like you I've had beko appliances before, lasted for years and would have no qualms about buying again.
Nice and sunny this morning although windy, turned out grey, dull and a bit drizzly this afternoon. Had a walk through town stopping at the butcher, baker and greengrocer on the way.

A much nicer bright, autumnal day here. Unfortunately I think the flooding created extra traffic on my route to the office this morning so I was behind before I started 🙄
Had a portion of the spicy carrot and lentil soup I made yesterday for lunch, with a toasted pitta. Stripped all the remaining meat off the chicken tonight and used some in pesto pasta with broccoli and sugar snap peas. LO pasta for lunch tomorrow and rest of the chicken has gone in the freezer.1 -
My sister replaced her WM and DW with Bekos and has been happy with them.
A nice day if a little chillier again, but far better than the weekend weather. I drove out to do a couple of errands after lunch and the sun was annoyingly bright through windscreen 🙂
scrambled egg on toast for lunch. Chicken Katz for dinner using a ready meal I brought for last night and didn't need it was a 'good' one on nectar discount, however the chicken piece seemed a lot smaller and there was more rice than the last time I brought it 🙄Life shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin1 -
Frosty start, but blue sky & sunshine, right into Brambling's eyes?I know just what you mean, there's a road here, up hill, and at the crest the low winter sun blinds any driver in the morningLunch, some sort of sandwich, contents TBDDinner, freezer rummage later, the only thing I have to hand is salad stuff & I just don't fancy salad this weatherEight out of ten owners who expressed a preference said their cats preferred other peoples gardens1

I remembered at the hygienist yesterday what Caronc said about the dentist chair going back and causing vertigo/balance problems so I avoided that for once.
I had such a disturbed sleep last night even though I felt tired from taking ibuprofen. I keep getting thrown off by blinding sunshine coming through the curtains in the morning, although I'm not complaining as I like it milder and sunny.
My stomach is growling so I'm going to see what needs using up.1 -
Good afternoon everyone,
Late on parade, I had a lovely lie in today so now the day is kind of running away from me! I've still not fully got my energy back after that nasty bug so the extra snooze was very welcome.
After a cold, wet and grey start it's now lovely sunshine. It's supposed to drop to freezing tonight so I hope surfaces dry out before the frost comes or it will very slippery underfoot.
I was ruthless in sorting out the smaller freezer yesterday. Didn't bin lots of stuff but some elderly odds and ends that had got "lost" in the jumble have been ditched. The contents to be kept are in the chest freezer so today's challenge is to put everything back in an orderly fashion while keeping the biggest shelf clear for turkey etc.
LO curry and rice for lunch. JO's salmon in a bag with various veg and sweet potato wedges for dinner.1 -
I'm running late too, quite a nice day out there but definitely getting colder again.
Meatloaf and coleslaw sandwich for lunch.
Stewed liver, mashed potatoes and brussel sprouts for tea tonight.

Turned colder here today, have had the heating on low while wfh and will have to force myself out to swimming in a bit 😬
LO chicken, pesto and green veg pasta for lunch. Usual Tuesday early tea of beans with toast.
There’s a white chocolate cookie to have with a cuppa while I watch the bake off final later 🍪1 -
I walked around town lunchtime to my physio appointment carrying my jacket it was so nice 🙂 after a bad night sleep due to a achy hip I was glad for the appointment although not so much being told that after three months of physio he's recommending me for a hip replacement, as they are private practice carrying out nhs work he has to refer me back to the hospital. The GP (now retired at 75) said I was too young however according to physio this is a very old fashion way of thinking now and his youngest client was 49! There is a long wait so I'll just keep on with hobbling and doing the exercises
I did some volunteer admin this afternoon
Sardines on toast for lunch. Salmon, new potatoes and vegetables for dinner with a salsa verde
