  • Back from my visiting this afternoon, glad I left the heating to click on if it got really cold.

Nipped to Lidl for a few bits to keep me going until the weekend.

Nice and easy tuna, broccoli and pesto pasta tonight.

Two days of work then off again 🙃

Frost here too Farway 🥶 I didn't need the car until 7pm and not sure if I was clearing the windscreen of morning frost or this evenings.  Blooming cold when I went out

Personal admin this morning and then a pottering afternoon where I made a lemon drizzle cake 😋 first cake made in the ninja and using the weigh the eggs methods, turned out really nice 😁 May need to slice and freeze  :*

Easy lunch of last of the cream cheese and pastrami with a bagel.  LO chilli and garlic bread for a late dinner with a slice of cake

Snow this morning, not blizzards, but it is sticking now, looking very wintery, and I'm glad I'm indoors. I may venture to the wheelie bin, but even that is unlikely, with my wobbles, if snow keeps up.

    Definitely a warming food day
Lunch, open my “come in handy” tin of H's Tom soup, and I'll make some AF croutons as well

Comfort food in the form of sausage, mash carrots and brussel sprouts for tea tonight
Stolen bangers & mash idea for my dinner, but with boiled carrots & cabbage though

    Good morning everyone,
Still bitterly cold here but overcast rather than frosty. Still very icy underfoot as we got a sprinkle of the white stuff which promptly froze. Frank is heading home tonight as DS1 and DIL2B are feeling a good bit better. We ended up having SM pizza for dinner last night, not something I've had for yonks. I enjoyed it at the time but later felt very bloated and uncomfortable so won't be repeating for a while too much crust (which I like) I think. There's LOs which DS2 will have for lunch and I'll have HM soup from the freezer. Tonight it's JO's gingery, garlicky black bean mince with rice and various veg.
  • I had toast as usual for breakfast. It feels quite cold. I aired out the house for a while and then put the heating on as I want to wash my hair and I can't stand being cold and having wet hair. I'm going to have a chai latte after my shower.

  • Not had anymore snow here but other than road and pavement gritting nothing has melted due to such low temps.

Hope you enjoy your sausage & mash as much as I did Farway it seems an age since I cooked good old comfort food like that, its also given me a notion for liver either fried with onions or stewed with loads of veg, it will definitely be on the meal plan next week.

Today I had cheese on toast then some fresh fruit for lunch.

Tonight its a "spanish" chicken concoction with peppers, tomatoes, anchovies, capers and green olives, which I'll serve with boiled rice..

  • Very cold again here but sunny. Wrapped up in all the layers to go to the office and left the heat on low at home.

Nana’s magic soup and a cheese topped roll for lunch. Prawn and broccoli Thai curry with noodles tonight 😋

No snow for us, for once you didn't share the bad weather Farway 🥶it was bitterly cold.  I was out tonight and was glad I put the cover on the windscreen when I got back to it

I'm out for the next couple of days so I popped to Sainsbury's to get some fresh stuff, I'm still avoiding the new Aldi as the parking looked full.  Tonight my sister and I went to a on screen showing of 'Girl from the North Country' which uses songs from Bob Dylan let's just say it's just as well we weren't feeling depressed when we went in as it was very depressing! combination of the cold and sitting too long meant I hobbled back to my car parked at my sisters' wishing I had parked over the road to the theatre.  I was glad my sister offered to drive me to the station tomorrow morning or I'll be hobbling around Chichester tomorrow if I walk down

Bacon, egg and mushrooms on toast for lunch.  I had to leave before 6.30pm tonight so had a bigger than normal lunch therefore just cheese, crackers and apple for dinner and we shared a bag of minstrels

  • It is cold, but sunny here today. I had lasagne and salad last night for dinner.

I just realised it is my dog's birthday today. 13 years old. :)

Bright & sunny, frosty with snow lingering in the shadows, looks breezy as well, not been out, but I bet it's bitter with the wind.

I'm compiling an Iceland delivery for next week, try & get some Christmas “bits” in, and there are some reasonable multi buy offers, although I find some are confusing, too many choices for me to think about

I certainly did, and I nicked another idea, mashed carrots, except I did them in with the mashed spuds, so finished up with orange speckled mash
Liver & onions, I cheat and use the RM ones, don't have it often but does make a nice change

Lunch, more old favourites, fish finger sarnie
Dinner, RM bacon & tom flan / quiche, with frozen chips & salad bits
