  • Office day today so haven’t seen much weather 😂

Celery and Stilton soup with a wholemeal roll for lunch. Made sausage, leek and mushroom pasta tonight (with spaghetti as didn’t have enough normal pasta 🙄)

Realised I perhaps ought to do something about Christmas…got one present bought at lunchtime and have written a list tonight!
  • I felt awful yesterday, really cold and headachy. I think it was from getting rained on yesterday morning! It is horrible and dark and rainy again today.

I'm about to have a smoothie and a cup of something hot. I have the last of the lentil soup for lunch along with some bread that I will get out of the freezer to defrost.

I'm going to use up some frozen veg to make another batch of soup today. Frozen butternut squash and onion along with a fresh chopped carrot roasted in the AF and then add veg stock, spices and coconut milk and blitz when cooked.

    Good morning everyone,
I forgot to post yesterday. I met up with a friend for a catch up and the rest of the day just the ran away from as we nattered for hours and I was later home that I expected to be. Lunch yesterday was a lovely wheaten bagel with pastrami, cheese and dill pickle. Last night I made Yoghurt Chicken curry.
The last two days have been baltic. Yesterday was nice and bright but today it's a bit misty and only just above 0C. It looks pretty icy underfoot and unlikely to melt so I'll ask DS2 to do the bin run!
On Sunday I made a pot of veg soup so I'll have some for lunch. My sis is coming for dinner this evening I'm making cottage pie. We'll have it with savoy cabbage, peas and shallots.
  • Very cold here too but at least the sun is shining.

Delivery arrived on time and all present and correct, finished dividing, bagging and freezing stuff before I sat down to lunch.

As an added boost to heat up the kitchen I made a tuna & sweetcorn quiche this morning and had some with salad for lunch the rest will go in the freezer.

I liked JKS' idea of pork and cider casserole, so I put the SC on using apple juice instead of cider and I'll have that tonight with some mustard mash and brussel sprouts.

  • Cold and grey today but not been out yet.

LO pasta for lunch. Beans with toast this evening, off swimming in a bit.

Enjoy the casserole, N2BT - think I’ve still got a couple of portions in the freezer.

Cold but at least it was dry 🙂 I didn't need to go out so I didn't!

I remembered to turn my turkey stock into soup today, I knew I had added too much water when I made it so had to reduce it first, I had a moment of panic over the taste when I finished and it was only a while after that I remembered I had eaten a mint skinny whipped bar (mint and dark chocolate) just tasting 🙄 and without that lingering taste in my mouth it is very tasty.  I'll probably pop some in the freezer tomorrow

I had a small piece of LO chilli, ginger and lime salmon so had that with salad in a wrap for lunch.  Prawns, stirfry veg and noodles in a chilli sauce for dinner

  • It feels chilly again. I need to go out to Tesco later. I just had wholemeal toast with Flora and peanut butter and a chai latte.

I didn't end up making soup yesterday, but I might make a batch of veggie pasta today as I bought a jar of sundried pesto sauce in the shopping.

Another dull, grey & cold day but at least my Asda delivery arrived OK, minus fresh mint and pickled gherkins, both out of stock for the moment
Luckily, the gammon arrived, but short-dated, so I'll probably freeze it for a week or so

Despite a delivery, I'm undecided what to eat so will probably finish up freezer diving for my dinner

    Lunch, cheese & tom rolls
    Dinner, TBD

    Good morning everyone,
Cold, misty and not rising above freezing again today!
Finished my Christmas gift shopping this morning, just need it to be delivered/collected now! As we do a family "Secret Santa" these days I've not many presents to buy. Catering in under control just need to get my finger out and write the small number of cards I'm sending this year. Most folk will be getting a festive email or WhatsApp instead.
HM soup again for lunch and tonight it's JO's sausage pasta using up a small pack of sausage meat that had been lurking in the freezing since last Christmas!
