Blue sky & sun again, which made this morning's trip to optician very pleasant. Just a routine eye test, and for once I came way without needing a new pair of specs.

Volunteer meeting at Petworth House this afternoon, they have one every 6 months.  A couple of hours of slides and tea and cake.  Petrol is covered so I don't mind the journey.  Not great timing I had a nose bleed walking up to the house from the car park it is about a 10 min walk (565 meters according to the sign post) luckily it stopped once I finished walking up to the ladies.

Must be something in the air, I had one the other day just as I was about to go to Dr's. Like yours, it stopped just in time.
Into real greengrocer while in town and bought a lovey big cauli, it's cauli cheese tomorrow

Lunch, cheese & sliced fresh onion sarnie
Dinner, I'm going to make a pot of leek & potato soup later, with AF HM croutons. I think I can get quantity right, but LOs will be handy.

  • Glad to hear you are on the mend Caronc, I've heard there are some devilish viruses doing the rounds; I have an appointment for my "winter vaccine's" tomorrow so fingers crossed side effects aren't too bad.

Leftover chicken, celery and pasta salad for lunch.

Poached salmon with steamed leek and brussel sprouts tonight.

  • Misty start to the day but it turned into a lovely sunny one.

Nana’s magic soup and a cheese topped roll for lunch. Had an online voluntary meeting this evening so quick tea of LO pilaf from the freezer with prawns and green veg.

Glad you’re feeling better caronc. I agree with N2BT - lots of people at work have really struggled with this season’s viruses.

I'm glad you are on the mend Caronc 🙂

These blue skies have definitely lower the temperatures 🥶 and nippy when I went out at 7pm

Training call this morning for my second volunteering role, his lordship joined the call, sitting just so the camera caught his head 🙄 food dish was empty!

Poached egg on toast for lunch.  Cod and chorizo in a tomato sauce for dinner

    Good morning everyone,
I'm definitely on the mend and no longer want to keep lying down! :)
My appetite is slowly returning and I enjoyed a small portion of sausage, beans, HM oven chips and roast veg for dinner last night. There's some veg LO so I'll have those some cheese in a toasted wrap for lunch.
I need to check the fridge and hope there's nothing needing binned before finalising tomorrow's grocery delivery. Meal plan was a dawdle this week, more or less all the meals that weren't had this week!
JO's sweet and sour pork for dinner.
  • Went for my vaccines then the hairdresser this morning so whilst I'm feeling okay I thought I would tackle that enormous butternut squash sitting in my veg basket.

I've got curried squash, lentil and coconut soup simmering on the hob whilst I'm having leftover salmon, cucumber and pasta salad for lunch.

I'll roast some of the squash this afternoon in preparation for making a vegetable lasagne tomorrow. But for tonight I'll use up stuff in the freezer for convenience, the last cauliflower grill, a portion of baked beans and a handful of oven chips.

Nice to hear you are up and about again Caronc; hope Wednesday is doing better too.

  • I'm feeling okay during the day, but my chest is rattling when I wake up. My husband bought me some chesty cough medicine today and I checked and it has only been 6 days so I don't think I need antibiotics or anything. There do seem to be a lot of nasty bugs around. I remember I had a chest and lung infection when Swine Flu was around, but I can't remember what it felt like.

I had a toastie and a smoothie for breakfast. I have had quite a few hot drinks today too.

Good to hear you are both on the mend, I used to get a lot of chest infections when I was in my 20/30s when my asthma was worst than now but luckily haven't had one since I broke a rib about 25 years ago.

Today the new Aldi opened in town, just a year behind schedule. I'm told there were queues around the store 7.30am, I used the opportunity to pop into a really quiet Lidl 😁 I wanted to checkout their Japanese week, I've never seen so many staff in there or tills opened, it seems the CEO was visiting.

I pick up some of their cooked salmon, I think I may stick to YS salmon from other SMs! And had one piece for lunch with a watercress salad.  Cauliflower cheese for dinner using cheese sauce from the freezer with a chorizo crumb.

  • Very nearly the end of another very long week, might have had a 🍸 when I got in from work this evening 😉

Nana’s magic soup and cheese topped roll for lunch. Tuna steak with Lidl tomatoey lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight, nice and easy.
