  • Out to a meeting this morning but was home for lunch so had some of the broccoli and Stilton soup with a chunk of sourdough out of the freezer.

Been swimming so nice quick tea when I got back of LO sweetcorn pilaf and a grilled salmon fillet 😋

Speaking of Sainsers bacon I've started buying the TTD air dried streaky it crisps up nicely so is great for butties as well as using in pasta/rice dishes and quiches - freezes well too  :) .

I'll have a look for it the next time I'm in Sainsburys although I'm usually a back bacon eater.  I think the medallions were just too thin and no fat often means no favour

Easy I also like my YSs 😀 or our local Waitrose often does really good reductions on their meat and fish counters

Crumpets with cheese and tomato for lunch.  M&S chicken and mushroom pie from the freezer with broccoli, beans and carrots for dinner

Sunny & mild, ideal because I have to go out later

Blood test this morning, then volunteers AGM this afternoon, and in the middle I'll collect my prescription.

Lunch, grilled cheese on toast + pickle
Dinner, I'm trying French Cut posh pork chops from Asda, they look nice so hoping they are nice & not have hidden manky bits covered by the label
The instructions say fry and then oven, but I'll just grill and see how it goes

    Good morning everyone,
Gloomy but dry (so far) and mild.
Pooches are rumbling in the garden and are being relatively well behaved!
Only some gravy LO from last night which I'll freeze. My nephew was able to join us and had several helpings! Bangers and mash is one of is favourite meals. I suspect that with my tendency to use a tub of LO gravy from the freezer as the base for subsequent gravies that  it's now like an old fashioned stock/ soup pot that was always on the stove and just added to but it does taste fab and I'm always very careful about reboiling, cooling and freezing.
Lunch will be a toasted cheese wrap with salad. Tonight it's peri peri chicken with spicy rice and veg.
  • It was so warm yesterday and then last night a storm appeared out of nowhere. It is still fairly mild and warm today.

I had a toastie and a banana and a strawberry milkshake for breakfast.

So jumped a bus early on to go and get a bottle of wine and a bottle of gin as its my birthday tomorrow and a friend is coming around to help me celebrate  :)

Leftover chicken pilaf for lunch and an easy self indulgent tea of @sda deli pizza tonight.

  • Happy Birthday 🎂 for tomorrow.

I read my book after having my flu jab this morning, but then felt cold and tired so I had a nap for an hour and a half. I feel fine now so didn't have to take any paracetamol. My arm isn't sore either, luckily.

I'm having a pizza too tonight with added veggies on top.

A nice day, according to car it was 19c when I went to Sainsburys late morning to pick up some fresh bits

Bagel, cream cheese and cucumber for lunch.  Smoked haddock, mash potato and broccoli cheese for dinner I had planned on kedgeree but didn't fancy it when it came to cooking, the broccoli was brought last weekend and forgotten it was looking sad so needed using, i made an all in one cheese sauce and froze half.  There are LOs including the fish as cleverly froze the pack without separating! I'll save for Saturday dinner after volunteering

    Good morning everyone,
Happy birthday N2BT, hope you have a lovely time celebrating with your friend.
Showery. grey and very windy here today. I need to do some housework and might try and fit in some more admin before Tesco come late afternoon.
There's LO chicken and spicy rice so they'll get used up today either for lunch or dinner with some added bits.
