  • Got struck down with a sickness bug this week so very little CFOing took place for a few days.

Back to normal today - Thai sweet potato soup for lunch, scampi, chips and peas for tea (eaten from a tray in front of Strictly, Brambling 😉)

Never made it to DS, DIL has gone down with sore throat etc, so just normal, dull & grey morning again. It was an easy night, without any problems from my jabs.

Glad that passed quickly, never nice at anytime

Because I’m not where I anticipated, out with DS at GC café, lunch is open a tin of soup. I may make some AF croutons with the remnant of a stale loaf.
Dinner, cold LO lamb, with salad. Not ideal weather for salad, but I need to use it up.

    Good morning,
Poor you JKS, glad you're back to normal.
Shame your day out was cancelled Farway.
Yesterday was wild and the very strong wind bitterly cold. Even Hector was reluctant to be out in it! It cleared late evening and it was only just above freezing when I got up this morning. It's a grey day but supposed to rain again later. I didn't brave the weather to pick the tomatoes so will do that today before the rain returns.
Egg on toast for lunch and roast pork dinner tonight.

Sorry to hear you've been poorly JKS, that's a bug I have no wish to get and with covid on the rise again and our schools being off on holiday I think its time to get the anti-bac hand gel on the go again.

Its very chilly here today, temp only getting up to 7c :o  so its tummy warming lentil soup and toast for lunch and equally hearty, braised sausages and lentils for tea tonight.

  • Thanks everyone, no idea where I got it from.

Fairly easy day but I have been food shopping and done a pile of ironing. Also made a batch of broccoli and Stilton soup so some of that with fresh Lidl bread was lunch. YS mini pork joint, roast new potatoes and broccoli for tea 😋

Glad you're feeling better JKS 🙂

The temperature has dropped today, it was nippy getting out of bed 🥶 I did test my heating I'm very much aware that the boiler is 19 so it's always a relief when the radiators heat up and it took the edge off the chill. I would prefer to leave it off another few weeks but I'm not going to get cold, the thermals will come out first 😁

I went around to my sister this morning which ended up as a sandwich for lunch as well.  I cooked a pork chop for dinner with new potatoes, carrots, tenderstem and green beans.  Not sure whether it was the lack of roasties but it was a boring dinner!

    Good morning everyone,
Bright but chilly day here after the weekend's gloom.
Picked the remaining tomatoes and rather a lot of small cucumbers. The cucumbers have been very prolific this year after a few poor years. Can't say the same about the toms! DS2 will clear the greenhouse when he gets a chance over the next few weeks. The green toms will hopefully ripen over the next few weeks.
Lunch will be some LO pork with salad in a wrap. DS2 cooked a lamb keema yesterday for tonight so I'll just need to heat it up and sort out sides for dinner tonight.

Rain start and just gloomy outside. At leat the jabbed arms are behaving and apart from slight pain where spiked, are OK

Made  a quickie loaf in the bread maker, mainly for lunch because I have no brilliant ideas about it, so I've decided a salad sarnie would solve the lunchtime problem

Dinner, no ideas for that either. I do still have a small portion of roast lamb left so will think around that, or maybe just dive in the freezer.

  • Ground frost here this morning and although the sun's shining its taking ages to warm up.

Online shopping done, the bathroom given a going over and lunch was a ham and mustard sandwich.

Prawns and peppers defrosting for a stir fry with noodles tonight.

  • I had a croissant from the bakery this morning. I just got some lunch on the train. A vegan cheese salad sandwich, crisps and orange juice.

I'm looking forward to getting my pets home tomorrow. It feels like I haven't seen them in ages!☺️
