Cold wind this morning, but sort of sunny

Made a banana loaf with a couple of manky bananas just on the turn, I've turned it out now, but I think I got the flour weight wrong, 200g not 250g.
By the time I twigged, I'd got it all mixed and ploughed on regardless. I'm going to eat it anyway, even though it looks  a tad flat. :D

Lunch, I think I'll copy Brambling & have beans on toast
Dinner, MFO braised steak & mash. I'll check if I have any runners left in the garden, but I think they've all gone. If so, I have some frozen mixed veg.

Enjoy your weekend away Brambling, from DDIL I think it's a mess around the M27 / M3 junction area, she uses it daily and rants given the chance. :)

  • Spaghetti with homemade pesto again tonight, delicious. I’m very pleased with the pesto as I made it from some leftover basil I chucked in the freezer, it looked a right state but made pesto fine so I’ll do that again.

Rain sometimes, not real rain, just the annoying coat on, coat off, sort with warm sun in between.

I had intended to water the pots up volunteer place, but with the rain, I decided to let nature get on with it.
Instead, I stewed some of my apples, they are earlies so don't store or keep well, ill portion up for freezing later

Lunch, perhaps open a tin of soup for a change
Dinner, making a large pot of mash, and use my own Runners & French beans, last of the season for me. Maybe with sausages or ??

    Good morning everyone,
I often make pesto to freeze if I have surplus basil. I freeze it ice cube trays.
Overcast and much cooler here today though dry. It's the "Ayr Gold Cup" horse race today so the punters will be hoping the rain stays away.
DS2 has taken Hector and Frank to meet up with his Dad for a walk so I'm enjoying a couple of quiet hours. That said Frank isn't nearly as high maintenance as he was a few months ago though I can't see him ever being as chilled as Hector and Ari are.
Last night I cooked a salmon portion in foil with veg and had it with a small baked spud. There's some salmon LO which I'm going to mash with spring onion and mayo to have in a sandwich with salad for lunch. For dinner tonight it's homemade burgers with coleslaw, corn, salad and oven chips.
  • Warm and sunny here today. I just had a shower and hair wash. I had toast, one with Marmite and one with marmalade.

  • Really warm and muggy this morning here, two loads of washing mostly dried, before enormous thunderstorms this afternoon!

A pottering sort of a day - walked into town to run a couple of errands, done a bit of ironing but not much else. Starting to wind down.

Cheese and tomato sandwich using free Lidl rye bloomer for lunch. Pasta with chicken, pesto and fridge use up of mushrooms, red pepper and cream cheese tonight.

Dull & breezy, maybe thunderstorms later depending on which way wind blows I think

I have a loaf in the bread maker, I could just about have enough for lunch, but decided nice fresh bread for lunch would brighten the day up

Applies all stewed & ready for freezer, plus I've sorted out my ripe tomatoes, again I'll freeze some for stews etc

    Lunch, tinned ham sarnie
Dinner, LO tinned ham + salad bits
