Good morning everyone,
Shame about the car Farway but at you least still got your planned day out.
I hope the cold improves JKS, I'm sniffly this morning but think it might be hayfever - time will tell.
I'm enjoying a few hours peace & quiet before Frank arrives to stay until next week while DS1 and DIL2B head to Spain for a wedding.
LOs for lunch. Stuffed pasta from the freezer with HM tomato sauce for dinner.0 -
Another lovely day here but I think the temp is due to drop in a couple of days time to a much more seasonal level
My own version of Cullen skink for lunch and another freezer dive produced a portion of broccoli quiche for tea tonight which I'll have with some mashed potatoes and baked beans.

Thanks everyone, cold still lingering but am starting to feel better.
Was home for lunch today so has smashed avocado and scrambled eggs on toast for lunch. Tuna steak with Mediterranean lentils, spinach and sun dried tomatoes tonight.0 -
I always have to google Cullen Skink, same with Parkin. I can never remember what they are.
My carrots were looking ropey so I peeled what was left as they looked fine underneath and steamed them. I made carrot mash to go with my Pukka pie and gravy last night and I have a whole bowl leftover. I was going to make them into carrot and lentil soup later.
I am going to have crumpets with Bonne Maman marmalade for breakfast.

Good morning everyone,
Your car clearly didn't fancy a day trip Farway!
Glad the cold is waning JKS.
I seem to have a low grade lurgy so not feeling like doing over much. After a chilly start it's turning in to a lovely day so I'm hoping some time in the sunshine perks me up. We have all three pooches today though Ari will go home later so it's all go.
LOs/fridge gravel for lunch. Cumberland sausage rings, baked beans, mushrooms and HM oven chips for dinner.0 -
Wednesday2000 said:I always have to google Cullen Skink, same with Parkin. I can never remember what they are.I know Wednesday its a peculiar name for what is basically a soup made with smoked haddock
. I remembered Caronc making it a few months ago and because I'd never made it before but dislike the "chefy" ones that use cream and all sorts. I had half a leek and a couple of potatoes to use up so bought one undyed smoked haddock fillet used a mix of chicken stock and milk, was very happy with the result and it made enough for two portions one of which I've put in the freezer.
Another lovely sunny day again perfect for a walk along the seafront and top up the Vit D before the shorter days come along.
I used a portion of the carrot & coriander soup from the freezer for lunch and tonight its spaghetti with turkey meatballs in tomato sauce.

Admin day this morning then some catch TV and reading this afternoon
Beans on toast for lunch. Salmon and watercress salad with new potatoes for dinner
last minute change of plans for the weekend my brother is down in Dorset for the week so he and my eldest sister have arranged for the seven of us to get together on Saturday ( hopefully my two BILs on cancer meds will be side effect free 🤞) it wasn't a request when my eldest sister called last night! My nephew is cat sitting, volunteering has be cancelled and my sister and I will drive down tomorrow late afternoon for the weekend and stay with my eldest sister which will be lovely 🙂 the last time we were all together was at a funeral two years ago, hopefully they can all make it, my 4 older siblings and their OHs are all in their late 70s and 80s so life sometimes throws curve balls health wise at the last minuteLife shrinks or expands in proportion to one's courage - Anais Nin0 -
Good morning everyone,
Mmm Cullen Skink N2BT, I'm with you on not jazzing it up.
Enjoy the family meet up Brambling.
Warm but overcast here today, there's no rain forecast but the sky is suggesting otherwise.
Not much planned, I'm still sniffly so happy to have another easy one.
Fridge bits for lunch and usual Friday tbc for dinner.0
