    Good morning everyone,
The day kind of ran away from yesterday and I forgot to post.
DS2 has porridge most mornings with either jam or Nutella. I don't have it very often but prefer it plain with a pinch of salt. Even as a child I wasn't bothered about sweetening it.
I gave in and popped the heating on for an hour yesterday morning and again today and we've had the stove lit in the evening. Thankfully this cold snap looks as though it's short lived though it's a shame the milder weather is bringing rain with it.
Last night I made Thai green pork and veg curry so LOs of that for lunch. Dinner is usual Friday tbc but will probably involve chicken legs.
  • After a chilly start it turned out to be quite nice, not quite porridge weather for me yet.

    Prawn salad sandwich for lunch.

Noticed there are a few of us using chicken - I defrosted 4 small chicken thighs, poached them to make a stock, then made a chicken and leek mix for a plate pie for tonight's tea.

  • Cold start here too but then turned into a lovely day, quite warm this afternoon.

Scrambled eggs and mushrooms on toast for lunch. Tuna, broccoli and pesto pasta tonight.

  • It was quite warm out yesterday. I did a trawl around the charity shops and went to the pharmacy and I was hot by then so I got the bus back. I didn't need my jumper at all.

I am going to make a proper cooked breakfast today, around 11. I will have a cup of tea and some fruit before then.

    Sunny but chilly first thing.
Nonetheless, I popped out early to the volunteer place, needed to get some daffodils planted ready for Spring
Not quite needed heating on, but it's been a close run thing, due to warm up over the next few days, so a few more pennies saved.

I've picked a lot of apples, so crumble time, perhaps today

Lunch. I've LO beans, so beans on toast.
Dinner, salad time. I've taken a big piece of “on offer” salmon out to defrost.
Once cooked, some of that with new spuds & salad bits

Maybe some apple crumble if I've made any by then

  • Hoummus sandwich for lunch, jacket potatoes with cheese and butter for tea. Just off for a walk to buy the jacket potatoes. Bright outside.

Went for lunch with daughter and, as I have been doing some binge watching of Korean soaps, I decided to have the Korean chicken burger, never had before.  Was really nice, did not have the bun but the Korean relish was so nice I have looked for a recipe to do my own some time.

    Good afternoon everyone,
    Welcome to CFO itsthelittlethings
I love Korean Fried chicken as long as it's not too spicy.
Dark and dreary first thing, though it's brightened up a bit now. It's a tad milder but still very Autumnal.
Full complement of pooches today though Frank will go home this evening.
DS2 and DIL2B are coming for dinner. I'm making sticky chicken wings, wedges, corn cobettes, coleslaw and might roast some lurking cauliflower.
  • Cloudy and dry but it was the kind of day that felt warmer outside than inside my flat, so the small heater was used occasionally.

Took deliver of a new winter coat this morning, I thought it best now the I use public transport and shanks' pony to get a nice cosy one - decided on a quilted rather than a puffer, because of where I tend to carry my excess weight I'd end up looking like the Michelin man  :D

For lunch I fried some leftover potatoes and had them topped with a fried egg.

Leftover chicken pie and assorted veg for tea tonight.
