    Lovely picture Farway 🌈

I needed another layer on today and if I cba i would go and put socks on! Looks like summer linen trousers will soon be put away.

i needed some stuff done just outside of town and came home via the pet shop for his lordship who has gone off biscuits so is eating more sachets 🙄 he now expects lunch when I eat.  And Sainsbury's for some milk and fresh stuff.

Beef and horseradish sandwich for lunch with watercress and tomatoes. Beef in black bean sauce with stir fry veg and rice noodles. There is LOs of that and I need to think what to do with the rest of the beef🤔 I didn't realise how b8g it was or maybe in stunk less when pressure cooked?

  • It definitely felt colder last night. I was wearing my leggings and top instead of one of my usual summer nightshirts.

The chai tea was quite nice. I'm about to have a cup now.

Wind is getting up, cooler & dull, just the right sort of day to start completing my tax return.
I've been putting it off for ages, but has to be done, so may as well start today with no temptation to go outside in sunshine

Message from Asda, run out of posh eggs :( , I'll be interested to see what the sub is because posh ones are a pack of four, I can always send the sub back if not ideal

    Lunch, another salad sarnie
    Dinner, nuked LO pasta

    Good morning everyone,
Squally showers and blowy here today. Much colder too,  barely in double figures.
Chimney sweep is due this afternoon so Autumn is definitely coming!
LO chilli for lunch. My sis is here for dinner, I'm making cauliflower and macaroni cheese.
  • Nice sunny morning with a good breeze blowing - great day for changing the bedding and getting it out on the line.

I finely seem to have acquire a liking for coriander (the herb) for years I hated the smell and taste and would avoid it like the plague but recently I have been trying it in different dishes and can honestly say its no longer offensive  :D

The carrots in the veg drawer were beginning to look a bit sad so decided to make a carrot and coriander soup for lunch which was delish and good news there's 3 portions for the freezer  :)

To make it a completely vegetarian day I thought I would try out this pasta tonight Broccoli, Chilli & Anchovy Pasta Recipe | Waitrose & Partners

    Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
    July - Grocery spends = £119.54
    Aug - Grocery spends = £22.18
  • Technically, the anchovies make it non-veggie, N2BT! I make a similar recipe to that but like the addition of hazelnuts so will pop on my list 😋

Really quite cool today and started raining a couple of hours ago. Will have to drag myself out to swimming later…

LO risotto for lunch and will have beans with toast shortly.

Definitely a sock and jumper day  :/ temperature has dropped again and then it started raining just after 4pm. His lordship came in to complain he had gotten wet 🙄

A indoor pottering day doing not a lot until my sister popped in for a cuppa when she got home from work 🙂

Beef watercress salad for lunch with potato salad, I made a dressing with Greek yogurt, capers, gherkins, shallots, parsley and a touch of horseradish rather than mayonnaise which worked rather well 😋 my sister surprised herself by trying it and liking it  :D

I didn't fancy much for dinner so finished the potato salad with some thinly sliced beef, I think I will freeze the rest has I have LO beef in black bean sauce for tomorrow

  • I am just having some hot water with lemon. I need to use up the last of the broccoli and potatoes today so I might have them with veggie sausages. That will be dinner.

I think I will have toast and a smoothie for breakfast and I'm not sure about lunch. It is lovely and sunny today, but with a slight chill. It poured down last night.

Bright & breezy this morning :) , with rain on the way of course :(

Made an overnight machine loaf for a change

Asda delivery arrived a tad early again, but not a problem.
The posh eggs arrived, must have had a fresh delivery, BBE is Oct
Had to send two subs back, ordered two type of cheese, Wensleydale & Cheshire, both out of stock, so they subbed with two blocks of Cheddar :/
And after unpacking I've claimed for the spuds, some rotten ones in the bag which ponged out the kitchen. No difficulty on refund, I'd no sooner pressed claim button before the fully refunded message arrived.
So, although some hiccups I find the home delivery works for me now I can no longer lug shopping home

Lunch, sarnie trying a posh egg in freshly HM made bread
Dinner, another new item, "Exceptional Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar Battered Haddock Fillet" with frozen chips & peas
The haddock is on offer so giving it a try

    Good afternoon everyone,
Another cool, windy and squally day,
Chimney swept and stove serviced yesterday so good to go for another winter though I must order more logs soon.
Cauliflower and macaroni cheese went down really well last night, my sis and DS2 each had seconds so no LOs. I'd been hoping there might be enough left to have for lunch. Lunch is tbc, possibly sardines or mackerel on toast.
Trying a new recipe tonight Reef chicken by Marie Mitchell | Jamie Oliver Cookbook Club recipes, we'll have it with sweet potatoes, roasted baby peppers and green beans.
